00:00Hello there, a very good evening to you. A lucky handful of us did manage to see some
00:05sunshine poking through today and we do have this area of high pressure, quite close in
00:10the Atlantic, but it's reasonably shy. It's not wanting to get too close to the UK at
00:15the moment and that is allowing for some fronts to push their way towards us. Particularly
00:19this one will be arriving into northwestern Scotland as we head into the overnight period
00:24with some longer and potentially heavier pulses of rain into the early hours of Sunday morning.
00:29It's quite breezy as this system pushes in as well. We've seen some heavy scattered showers
00:34across south-eastern England today. Those will be clearing as we head into the evening and
00:38there will be some clear spells around for England and Wales tonight and so some rural
00:42spots may just drop into single figures, but many of our towns and cities will be holding
00:46comfortably in double digits as we start off Sunday morning. As we move throughout the day,
00:52we will be watching as this rain steadily pushes its way eastwards across Scotland. It will
00:56tend to break up into showers as the day goes on, but even those could be heavy at times,
01:01maybe even thundery as we move across eastern Scotland later on. The other three nations will
01:06still see some showers popping up at times, but there should at least be some drier intervals
01:11in between those to try and make the most of. But with a lot of cloud around tomorrow,
01:16temperatures will be a notch down compared to some of the values we've seen today. 18 to
01:2023 degrees Celsius though is still around average for the time of year, so if you manage to see a
01:25touch of brightness, it will still be relatively pleasant. As we move into the new week on Monday,
01:31our area of high pressure will get a little bit friendlier and push that ever so slightly closer
01:36to the UK. And so generally Monday will be more settled overall and there'll be fewer showers around
01:43in general. Still some to watch out for, but there should be more brighter and sunnier spells developing
01:48as well. And so a decent amount of fine dry weather if you are on the summer holidays and temperatures
01:55will be a notch up thanks to that extra sunshine peaking at around 25 degrees Celsius across parts
02:00of southern England, 19 and 20 in there for Scotland and Northern Ireland as well. Do stay up to date with
02:07the full forecast as we head into the forthcoming week. You can of course do that by following the
02:11YouTube channel and we'll see you again very soon. Bye-bye.
