Monday morning is expected to feature rain in northern Scotland and over cast skies in northern Ireland, but in England and Wales there will be breaks in the cloud to give some sunny intervals. In the afternoon the rain in Scotland will fizzle out and the south of England may become cloudy as the rest of England has a sunny afternoon. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 16/06/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Jonathan Vautrey.

00:00Hello there, a very good morning to you.
00:03If you do suffer from hay fever, don't forget those tissues and tablets when you head out
00:07today.
00:08Grass pollen levels are going to be quite widely high for many areas, locally very high
00:13across some in the south-east, and that is because most of us are going to see a fine
00:18settled day with a decent number of sunny spells, particularly England and Wales holding
00:23on to that sunshine right throughout the day, there'll be some fair weather cloud bubbling
00:27up at times.
00:29But always lingering a little bit more for Northern Ireland, and there will be more
00:32in the way of outbreaks of rain for parts of Western Scotland, and a bit more of a brisk
00:37breeze around here as well.
00:40Temperatures held back underneath that rain in the north-west, mostly around mid-teens,
00:45but we'll be picking up towards 20 degrees Celsius for Northern Ireland, Eastern Scotland,
00:49and feeling noticeably warm in that sunshine across areas of England and Wales, speaking
00:54around 25, 26 degrees Celsius in the east.
00:57It'll be a calm end to the day for England and Wales also, with some late sunny spells,
01:03a few mist and fog patches may develop overnight.
01:06Cloud always lingering for Northern Ireland, and we'll see further rain into north-western Scotland
01:10during the overnight period.
01:12This could be heavy over the hills, and the winds will also strengthen here, potentially
01:16gale-strength gusts during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
01:20It's going to be a mild night for all of us, though temperatures comfortably around 12 to
01:2415 degrees Celsius as we start off Tuesday morning.
01:29We'll watch on Tuesday as that band of rain slowly pushes its way south and eastwards,
01:34but it is going to be weakening as it does so, so increasingly that rain will be fairly
01:38light and patchy.
01:39There'll be some sunny spells developing up towards the north and west with a scattering
01:43of showers and quite prolonged sunshine still holding on down towards the south and east.
01:48It's here where we'll hold on to the heat, where we'll still again see 25, 26 degrees
01:53Celsius as the high, but it will start to feel that little bit more fresh up towards the
01:57north and west, more around high teens as your peak temperatures here.
02:03Once this weather front eventually moves out of the way, we are going to start to see high
02:07pressure build in more concretely across all areas of the UK as we do head towards the middle
02:13of the week, and it is going to be our main driving force of the weather as we head later
02:18on down the line.
02:20What does that mean for the weather, and what does it mean for how high those temperatures
02:24could climb?
02:25Well, we'll have plenty more of that detail in our full week ahead forecast on the YouTube
02:30channel, so subscribe, and we'll give you all of that information a little later on today.
02:36Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your day, bye bye.
