Leprosy Hospital Problems In Vizianagaram District: విజయనగరం జిల్లా పొగిరిలోని లెప్రసీ ఆసుపత్రి అర్ధ శతాబ్ధానికిపైగా కుష్ఠు రోగులకు వైద్య సేవలు అందించింది.

00:00Vijayanagaram district, Rajamandalam, Pogiri, started the Kushtu Vyadhi Nirmorana Kendra in 1962.

00:08This 11-bedroom government hospital was established with the co-operation of Denmark,

00:13and has been providing intensive care to patients with Kushtu Vyadhi.

00:16Along with treatment for those suffering from the disease,

00:18the hospital also provides medicines for permanent patients.

00:22This hospital has been in service for more than 60 years, and has now become a hospital for thousands of people.

00:28Eight of the rooms in this hospital are in a dilapidated state.

00:30The rest of the rooms have been destroyed.

00:32The patients are living in fear of falling on their heads.

00:37When it rains, all the water falls into the rooms and they face severe problems.

00:48At present, there are 20 beds in the Kushtu Vyadhi Nirmorana Kendra.

00:52Out of these, 20 patients are receiving permanent treatment.

00:56In addition to you, dozens of people come to this center for treatment.

01:00At present, with the co-operation of the Jeeyaram Foundation for Patients,

01:45We have to wear white clothes, sit on the floor, and bathe in the rain.

01:52If we sit there, we get sick.

01:54We get fever and we get swollen.

01:56We get so sick that we can't even sleep.

01:59We don't even have a bathroom.

02:01We don't have a house to live in.

02:07We don't know where we are going to sleep.

02:09We just sleep on the floor.

02:11There are only a limited number of medical facilities available to patients in the hospital.

02:15Only 6 out of the 10 patients who are supposed to be with a doctor are available.

02:19The medical officer, 3 staff nurses, a lab technician, and an FNO are providing services.

02:25Physiotherapists, 2 sweeper posts, and an MNO post are not available.

02:36The sweepers and the water boilers have been cut.

02:40There is only one woman left.

02:43There are no more tents here.
