we are just deeply grateful that you are spending your time

of really substantial conversations

about where media is going.

As everyone here knows, advertising in the past year,

18 months, all of a sudden a lot

of people joining the advertising bandwagon,

and there is so much innovation, so much, you know,

just expansion of the overall, what is marketing,

what is brand building and image burnishing, what is that

in this century with so many platforms, and it's something

that we cover endlessly.

We have covered from the first days of Variety back in 1905.

Yes, we are going to be 120 next year.

We're very excited about that.

And we are so proud that this brand,

show me another 120-year-old media brand

Yeah. And we're proud because we are doing so much more

than Variety ever did, whether it's live media,

we are really excited, and so therefore we're in a lot

of the business of gathering audience that you are,

and so it's just a treat for myself

and our fellow senior editors to have great conversations

with some of the most innovative and fabulous

and successful marketers in the business.

I'm supposed to pitch you on Variety's incredible audience

growth, and we really are.

I'm happy to do that because we really are so proud.

It took us a long time, but we finally kind of figured out

or got our sea legs on the Internet, and you know,

you might have noticed that a lot of people like to get

on there and talk about movies and TV shows.

We figured that out a few years ago, and now we just,

our growth, we are reaching about 32 million uniques a month,

and that's a whole lot more than we did just a few, you know,

pre-pandemic and post-pandemic.

It's an entirely different audience story.

We are so proud of that.

We are also really just starting to explore the boundaries

of what that can be, and some of you we will be pitching

on the strength of our platform because there is one thing

that we reach better than anybody.

We are the industry's, the world's number one

entertainment news outlet by reach, by sheer scope

of what we cover, and we have, we have just started

to tap what that can really mean for people that are

in the business of seeking audiences
