00:00
Good morning to all of you and live from the Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:05
Here is the time, September 11, 2024.
00:09
In our latest satellite images, we can see that the typhoon that we are watching outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:17
since the Tropical Depression yesterday, this is a Tropical Storm.
00:21
This means that it has increased.
00:23
In the category of typhoons after the Tropical Depression, this is a Tropical Storm.
00:28
The next one is a Severe Tropical Storm.
00:30
Now, it has an international name, Bibingka.
00:33
Bibingka means pudding or bibingka in our country.
00:38
This came from Macau, China.
00:40
This is what gave the name of this typhoon.
00:44
Meanwhile, we can still see the effect of the Southwest Monsoon
00:48
or a long and particular wind in the northern part of our country.
00:52
Meanwhile, in the eastern part of our country,
00:54
this typhoon that brought by the typhoon Bibingka is already affecting.
00:59
So, it is possible that there will be a cloudy sky,
01:01
that there will be rains, especially in the eastern Visayas,
01:04
as well as in some parts of Bicol Region and Caragas today.
01:08
And it is possible that due to the movement of the typhoon Bibingka,
01:11
the wind will be strong.
01:17
But today, a large part of our country can still experience generally fair weather,
01:22
but it is still possible that there will be isolated or dry rains.
01:25
From dusk to dawn, there will be rains in the early hours of the day.
01:29
This is one of the characteristics of the Southwest Monsoon or a long and particular wind.
01:34
So, we can see that here in Mindanao,
01:36
we also have generally fair weather, as well as in some parts of Luzon.
01:40
Let us now look at where the typhoon Bibingka is expected to hit.
01:45
Yesterday, around 11 p.m., we issued a Tropical Cyclone Advisory.
01:50
If we have a typhoon that is within around 145 degrees east,
01:55
we issue a Tropical Cyclone Advisory twice a day, 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.,
02:02
especially if it is possible for it to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:07
So, we can see that the chance of a typhoon Bibingka to landfall in our country is small,
02:13
but we can still see the potential strength of this typhoon.
02:17
That is why we can see that if the typhoon Bibingka moves to the northwest,
02:23
it is possible that there will be rains, especially in the Visayas and Southern Luzon.
02:28
This is the Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa starting tomorrow.
02:33
So, tomorrow, we will be able to feel the effects of the typhoon,
02:36
particularly in the Visayas.
02:39
On Friday and Saturday, we will be able to feel the effects of the typhoon,
02:43
particularly in the Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon.
02:48
This weekend, it is possible that the sky will be cloudy and there will be heavy rains.
02:53
It is also possible that there will be heavy rains in the Visayas on Friday and Saturday.
02:58
So, let us be careful of the possibility of sudden floods and landslides
03:03
due to the possible strength or effects of the typhoon in the coming days.
03:07
We can also see that in the track of the typhoon Bibingka,
03:10
on Friday and Saturday, it is possible that it will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
03:16
If ever it will enter PAR, its name will be Aya Ferdi.
03:21
So, that is the next name of the typhoon.
03:23
But, we can also see that it is also possible that the track of the typhoon Bibingka
03:28
is almost in the northeastern boundary of PAR.
03:30
So, there is also a possibility that it will not enter PAR.
03:33
So, there are still a lot of updates that can happen here in the typhoon.
03:36
That is why we are always on the lookout for updates.
03:40
Even if the typhoon Bibingka enters or not the Philippine Area of Responsibility,
03:46
we can still see the strong winds that will bring more rains,
03:51
like what I mentioned earlier, starting tomorrow here in the Visayas area
03:56
along with Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and Bicol Region,
03:59
and Bicol Region, as well as Metro Manila, towards the weekend.
04:03
And this is where the weather will be on this day.
04:06
Here in Luzon, we can see the trough or extension or clouds
04:10
brought by the typhoon Bibingka can bring a cloudy sky
04:13
with particular rains on the parts of Sorsogon and Masbate.
04:18
In the cold parts of Luzon, including Camaynilaan,
04:21
today, the weather is still a bit hot.
04:24
It is still possible for thunderstorms to occur in the afternoon and evening.
04:28
The temperature in Lawag is up to 32°C.
04:31
In Baguio, 17°C to 23°C.
04:33
In Tagaygarao, 25°C to 34°C.
04:36
In Metro Manila, 26°C to 33°C.
04:39
In Tagaytay, 23°C to 31°C.
04:42
While in Legazpi, 26°C to 32°C.
04:46
Let's go to Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
04:49
In Palawan, today, we will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:53
The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 26°C to 32°C.
04:57
In Puerto Princesa, 25°C to 32°C.
05:01
Today, we are also expecting cloudy skies.
05:04
There will be rain showers in eastern Visayas,
05:06
at the end of the trough,
05:07
or the extension of the low-pressure region of Baguio-Cibibinca.
05:10
In the cold parts of Cabizayaan,
05:12
generally, the weather is still fair,
05:13
but there will be rain showers in the afternoon and evening.
05:15
The temperature in Tacloban is 26°C to 33°C.
05:19
In Iloilo, 25°C to 33°C.
05:22
In Cebu, 26°C to 33°C.
05:26
It will also be cloudy,
05:27
as there will be scattered showers in the area of Caraga,
05:30
at the end of the trough of Baguio-Cibibinca.
05:32
In the cold parts of Mindanao,
05:34
we will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
05:38
The temperature in Zamboanga is 25°C to 33°C.
05:42
In Cagendeoro, 24°C to 33°C.
05:45
In Davao, 24°C to 33°C.
05:48
I will repeat,
05:49
as the storm approaches Cibibinca,
05:51
starting tomorrow,
05:52
it will be rainy or cloudy skies in Bisayas
05:56
and Palawan.
05:59
Meanwhile, we do not have a high gale warning,
06:01
due to the spread of sea vehicles and small boats
06:04
in our neighboring countries.
06:06
Although, be careful,
06:07
if there are thunderstorms,
06:08
the waves of the sea may rise.
