00:00
Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
00:08
Let's start with our latest satellite image.
00:11
At the moment, we are still monitoring these two low-pressure areas outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:19
This low-pressure area that is closer to our country came out yesterday evening.
00:25
We did not expect that this would have a direct effect on any part of our country.
00:31
Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon is still raging and it is possible that it will bring rain
00:38
to the northern and central Luzon areas.
00:42
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila and the rest of our country,
00:46
we did not see any sustained rainfall so we did not expect it to rain yesterday.
00:52
Nowadays, in most parts of our country, we are generally in fair weather conditions
00:57
except for the possibility of sudden or temporary rainfall.
01:02
And for the next few days, these two low-pressure areas that we are monitoring,
01:07
this low-pressure area that is closer to our country,
01:09
generally, it will bring rain so most likely, it will have an effect on a part of Taiwan or mainland China.
01:17
We do not expect this to have an effect on any part of our country for the next few days.
01:22
Meanwhile, this low-pressure area that is in the eastern part of Visayas,
01:26
it is possible that there will be a typhoon and it will hit, generally, northwestward
01:33
and it is possible that it will enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:38
Although based on our estimation,
01:40
as of now, we did not expect that it will continue to approach any part of our Philippine landmass.
01:47
But while it is passing through the eastern coast of our country,
01:51
it will hit the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat as early as Wednesday or Thursday,
01:58
it is possible that there will be widespread rainfall in parts of Southern Luzon,
02:03
there in the Calabar Zone, in Maropa and also in the Bicol Region,
02:07
possibly also in the Metro Manila Area, in Visayas and some parts of Mindanao.
02:12
Starting Wednesday or Thursday, we expect that there will be rainfall
02:16
and while it is passing through the eastern coast of our country,
02:23
it is possible that the rainfall in the mentioned areas will continue until the upcoming weekend,
02:30
possibly it will last until the next week.
02:33
That is why, until now, we are warning our countrymen
02:37
about the possibility of widespread rainfall in the coming days due to the effect of the hanging habagat.
02:47
For the time being, as we have mentioned,
02:50
due to the continuous effect of the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat,
02:54
it is still possible that there will be widespread rainfall in parts of the northern and central zone,
03:00
there in the Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan Area.
03:04
While in Metro Manila and in the southern part of Luzon,
03:07
generally, we have fair weather conditions,
03:09
aside from the possibility of sudden or temporary rainfall that is usually experienced in the afternoon and night.
03:17
As for the temperature forecast for today,
03:19
here in Lawag, Tuguegarao and Legazpi,
03:22
our maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius, 17 to 23 for Baguio City.
03:29
Here in Metro Manila, the maximum temperature will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:35
For Tagaytay, it will range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:41
For the day, here in the cold part of our country,
03:44
for Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao,
03:47
the hot weather will continue, especially in the afternoon.
03:51
There is also a possibility of sudden or temporary rainfall due to localized thunderstorms
03:57
that are more common in the afternoon and night.
03:58
We will monitor the thunderstorm advisory issued by our regional services division.
04:05
For the temperature forecast for Calayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa,
04:09
our maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
04:12
For the neighboring cities, for Visayas, Iloilo, Cebu and Tacloban,
04:18
our maximum temperatures will reach 33 degrees Celsius.
04:21
The same goes for Cagayan de Oro.
04:23
For Metro Davao and Zamboanga,
04:25
our maximum temperatures will reach 34 degrees Celsius.
04:30
In terms of our ocean,
04:32
we still do not have a high gale warning for our neighboring countries.
04:36
Our fishermen and small vehicles are far away.
04:42
This morning, the sun will rise at 5.45 a.m. and set at 6 or 1 p.m.
