Happy Friday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:05
Southwest Monsoon or Hanging Habagat will continue to blow in a large part of Luzon and Visayas,
00:11
and it will continue to rain, especially in the western and northern portions of our country.
00:16
Meanwhile, there is a low-pressure area in the north coast of northern Luzon, here in the northern Philippine Sea.
00:24
And as of 3 in the morning, it has seen more than 700 kilometers east of Batanes.
00:28
Based on our analysis, there is a low chance that this will be a low-pressure area for today,
00:34
but we still expect that the probability that this will be a tropical depression over this weekend will increase.
00:41
Based on our analysis, the weather disturbance that we have been talking about is moving northward towards Taiwan,
00:48
and we are not taking away the chance that this will be a tropical depression,
00:52
which we will call a typhoon if ever.
00:55
This means that this low-pressure area has a low chance that it will landfall or affect any part of our country.
01:03
So we will continue to monitor.
01:06
For today, we still expect a high chance of rain in the western section of Luzon,
01:11
including Zambales, Bataan, and Ilocos region, because it is still in the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
01:17
Sometimes, it will rain heavily, especially in Zambales and Bataan,
01:21
so be careful of flooding and landslides.
01:25
In the remaining part of Luzon as part of Metro Manila,
01:29
we still expect a cloudy sky that is accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms,
01:34
so make sure to bring an umbrella if necessary.
01:37
The chances of rain in Maycaguayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region are also high,
01:43
especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:45
Our temperature in Metro Manila is from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
01:52
For our fellow countrymen here in Palawan as well as Samar Provinces,
01:56
we still expect a cloudy sky that is accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms
02:01
because it is still in the Southwest Monsoon, so be careful of flooding and landslides.
02:06
In the remaining part of Visayas, we still expect fair weather conditions
02:10
or a cloudy sky that is accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms,
02:16
especially in Patimpanay Island and Negros Occidental.
02:20
Our temperature in Metro Cebu is 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:24
For our fellow countrymen in the majority of Mindanao,
02:27
we still expect a cloudy sky or fair weather conditions from morning to afternoon.
02:32
By the afternoon, it will be hot and foggy,
02:34
and by the afternoon and evening, there is still a high chance of rain
02:39
in Northern Mindanao and Caraga Region as well as parts of Davao Region.
02:44
Our temperature in Metro Davao is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:49
For now, we have removed the gale warning over the western seaboards of Luzon,
02:54
but moderate to rough seas or waves up to 3.5 meters high will continue.
03:00
This is still dangerous for small sea vessels.
03:02
For our fellow countrymen in the majority of Mindanao,
03:05
moderate to rough seas or waves up to 3.5 meters high will continue.
03:10
This is still dangerous for small sea vessels.
03:13
For our fellow countrymen in the majority of Mindanao,
03:16
moderate to rough seas or waves up to 3.5 meters high will continue.
03:20
For our three-day weather forecast,
03:22
we still expect occasional rains in northern Luzon
03:25
due to the southwest monsoon and possible trough of the low-pressure area
03:29
in the eastern part of Batanes.
03:30
We expect occasional rains in Batanes,
03:33
Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan.
03:37
While we still recommend you to bring an umbrella,
03:40
most of Luzon, including Cordillera Region, Cagayan Valley,
03:45
Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa
03:50
still have a high chance of rains,
03:53
especially in the afternoon and evening.
03:56
And for the rest of the country in Visayas and Mindanao,
04:00
over this weekend, we still expect fair weather conditions
04:03
so there will be no problem if we have plans or travel plans
04:07
over this weekend.
04:09
While Sunday to Monday arrives,
04:11
we still expect scattered rains and thunderstorms in Batanes,
04:14
Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan.
04:17
While the rest of the country, including Metro Manila,
04:20
from Sunday to Monday, our weather conditions will improve
04:23
and there will only be occasional rains or thunderstorms.
04:28
Our sunrise is at 5.45am,
04:31
and our sunset is still at 5.54pm yesterday.
04:34
That's all for the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
04:38
I am Benison Estareja,
04:40
wishing you good weather and hope for a good solution.
