My Trinitarian Angel God - Wiliam Branham
  • 2 years ago
Leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation with widely varying doctrinal positions are able to claim William Branham’s ministry as a foundation due to Branham’s widely varying stage personas. Some of these doctrines are trivial, but others are critically important to Christianity itself. Such is the case with Branham’s varying positions on the Godhead.

Before some audiences, Branham put on the persona of a Trinitarian. He accepted the Holy Trinity, and affirmed the Trinitarian position that Jesus (the Second Person in the Trinity) sent the Holy Spirit as the Third. To those audiences, Branham was a Trinitarian for several years. To others, Branham was firmly against Trinitarianism, claiming that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit were one person and denouncing those who accepted the Trinity.

Of his different positions, the most unusual is Branham’s doctrine concerning his spirit guide. In some versions of his stage persona, Branham claimed that Christ was an angel. In those versions, the “angel Christ” was the one who visited him. In fact, Branham prayed to the alleged angel. As a result, splinter groups who use Branham to support their Trinitarian doctrines condemn splinter groups who do not, and vice versa.
