00:00We've got a 2014 6.7 Power Stroke

00:02We've got this little spring that we found in the oil pan

00:05Plus a bunch of bearing material and stuff

00:07We've got the engine tore down

00:15We'll go over there and take a look at it

00:17It busted a couple pushrods

00:19So now my thinking is

00:20A couple pushrods came apart

00:22I got a feeling that that spring

00:24Is the pressure relief valve

00:26The hold valve in one of the lifters

00:28So we're going to tear that engine down

00:30Let's find out if that's what it is

00:31We've had a pushrod come apart here on this rocker arm

00:34Down inside

00:36The motor will have to pull the heads off

00:38To find that lifter

00:40These have that unique lifter

00:43Where there's two hydraulic adjusters in each lifter

00:46So there's one lifter running two pushrods

00:48Anyway, we'll get this tore down

00:49We'll have a look

00:50So Mikkel, I want you to tear this thing down

00:52Pull this head off

00:53And then holler at me

00:55Let's come take a look at the lifter

03:15So I wonder where the rest of it is.

03:18There should be a ball end on that side.

03:21My guess is that something happened to that lifter.

03:26And now we just gotta find where the rest of it is.

03:29Those lifters.

03:34This one looks like it's pressed in.

03:38It might have gotten seized in like that.

03:40That should not be like that.

03:42It should look like the one on the right.

03:44So I think.

03:46I might have had a lifter failure seized up maybe.

03:50Oh, would you look at that.

03:53That was the fastest catch I've ever gotten.

03:58They decided to come in too, I guess.

04:04That spring is probably what they found.

04:05The spring that sits in here to push this hydraulic lifter back up.

04:10And spring fell out.

04:12That ball fell out.

04:14I would say that's our failure.

04:18So we have to fish for that top piece.

04:21Okay, so that's where the spring goes.

04:23Right in the middle.

04:24Yeah, the spring.

04:25Let's take one of these apart.

04:40That spring is inside that lifter.

04:43That's what happened.

04:44That thing came apart.

04:46We'll have to pull that lifter out of there.

04:50That's what that wire is.

05:05I think that wire looking thing I think is this top seal ring on top of this lifter that

05:10I'm trying to cut off.

05:12I'm thinking that's what the wire is.

05:14I'm sure the spring is on the inside of this thing.

05:17If I could just get it to.

05:19And that's definitely the ring.

05:53This is a hydraulic cylinder.

05:54And you pump fluid pressure in through this.

05:58And then that chamber.

05:59That pentel or that other top of that lifter sits on there.

06:01And once it gets pumped up.

06:03It pumps that that that that spring holds that open.

06:10When it gets past this hole when it collapses, it allows pressure in there.
