00:00I hate to trash things, but there's a stupid, crazy, ugly, nasty, I don't like it, design on this 3.0, they call it the Minimax engine.
00:10And it's got a rubber, I'm not making this up, oil pump drive belt inside the engine.
00:18And why they didn't put a chain on it, I will never know.
00:22You know, maybe some GM engineer, I know you guys follow me, please, whose decision was that?
00:30Hey, I got this guy out front that I just met, his name is Todd, he's a big fan, and he said he flew in here to buy a truck, I mean, I'm feeling like, kind of excited because the guy's super nice, and he said he flew in here to buy a truck, and he bought it here local, but he lives up in Alaska, and he wants us to do a bunch of service on it, what's the deal for you?
00:49I just told him I'm going to go out and talk to him, but what's the deal?
00:52It's a 2022 Babymax.
00:54Oh no, it's got the oil pump drive belt.
00:56Uh-huh, so he bought it close to us specifically, so he can bring it here, and just due to the mileage, he's interested in getting the belt done.
01:03But other than that, it runs great, he wants us to do a thorough go-through.
01:06So how many miles does he have on it now?
01:08Roughly 144.
01:09Okay, so this would be the first belt.
01:11Mm-hmm.
01:12Okay, unless they actually had it inspected, I think they're supposed to be inspected around $70,000, $80,000, but you know, inspect them and not replace them, it's like, what, you know, you've got to tear the tranny out and do the damn thing.
01:24Mm-hmm, it's in the back of the motor.
01:25Yeah.
01:26All right, so what else did he want done, just a full look over and make sure it's all ship-shape and ready to go?
01:32Yeah, yeah, pretty much.
01:34I mean, he had questions really about long-term reliability, you know, mostly taking brakes, suspension.
01:40He had no other issues aside from that, but...
01:43I'll tell him we probably had a bore scope to the intake and stuff and look at the EGR passages and the coolers and all that.
01:50Yeah.
01:51Because he's probably all gipped up.
01:53Yeah, he wants to try and go through this truck.
01:55Yeah, okay.
01:56He wants to keep it for a long time, which 3O is already a great platform.
01:59Yeah.
02:00Okay, cool.
02:01I'll go talk to him.
02:02So we have a customer, his name's Todd, that came in, flew in from Alaska, and he flew in specifically to buy a truck locally.
02:09He's getting the Babymax, and I think it's a 2022, and he bought it locally because he wants me to get it all ship-shape and ready to go.
02:18He'll, of course, do the oil pump belt and some other service and stuff, and then he's going to drive it home up to Alaska.
02:26These Alaska people, we love them.
02:28A lot of people do this, actually, and so let's go meet him and find out what we can do for him.
02:34Hey, Todd.
02:36So tell me, you know, how did we get lucky enough to meet you?
02:40Let's just start there.
02:41Lucky enough to meet you.
02:41It's an honor to meet you.
02:42I started following you on Instagram and watching your shows on mechanics, and just I appreciate your family-owned business and just the history.
02:52It's pretty inspirational, and I just love the honesty, and I learned from your videos, and so it's just a lot of fun.
03:00I'm glad you guys are having fun.
03:01Thank you so much.
03:03That's very, very kind of you.
03:05We are a family-run business.
03:06Have you met Miles?
03:08Yes.
03:08Have you?
03:08Miles runs the place, and he's 34 years old now, and he's been working for me since he was a little boy, but, you know, really full-time and getting a paycheck since he was about 16.
03:18Yeah.
03:19But I hear you flew in here and bought the truck local.
03:22He wanted the 3.0 platform.
03:24Yeah.
03:24The Baby Max is what they call it, and we're going to do a bunch of work for you and get it all buttoned up, ship-shaped and all that, and then you're driving it all the way back to Alaska?
03:33Yeah.
03:34Have you ever made that drive from?
03:36I've made it probably over 40 times.
03:38No way.
03:39Yeah.
03:40I love that drive.
03:41It's like driving through a national park.
03:43It's just beautiful.
03:44Wow.
03:45You know, I've been chopped around for a baby Duramax.
03:48My middle daughter has one.
03:50I just love the platform, a big SUV, 25 miles a gallon, plenty of power and torque, and so I found one in Oregon here, and I went and picked it up earlier in the week and had some business around this area.
04:00But my intention was to drop off with you guys, do the 150,000-mile factory check, maybe replace that oil pump belt.
04:08Definitely.
04:09Whatever else you recommend.
04:10Yeah.
04:10And then get it nice and sound and then drive it home.
04:13Well, you know, we'll check it bumper to bump, you know, front to rear for you, but some of the things we'll be looking at at that mileage will be carbon buildup in the intake and on the coolers.
04:24And we'll make sure that there's no problem there.
04:26There's going to be carbon buildup.
04:28Yeah, yeah.
04:29So, you know, we'll walnut shell blast, all that.
04:32Of course, we will replace the belt because it's due, I think, at 140 or 150.
04:37And anything else we can find, we'll take care of it.
04:40Do all your filters.
04:41So I came in this morning, and here's Miles at the front desk.
04:44I'm going, what happened to you today?
04:45You get in trouble or what?
04:47No, he doesn't.
04:49You know, you'll see him like his dad.
04:51I mean, you know, if the bathroom's neat clean, he'll do the bathroom sometimes.
04:54I mean, that's not what he does anymore.
04:56But, you know, it's being a family business.
04:58You just do what you got to do.
05:00I mean, he could have been running the plow truck this morning, you know, if we had a little more snow going on.
05:04I'm wired the same way, but I was sharing one of the stories with Miles about his honesty and just, you know, what you guys have around here.
05:12He's like, you know, I'm not a real mechanic.
05:15You know, they let me change oil every now and then, but he's been around his whole life.
05:19He's very humble.
05:20He's actually better than that.
05:22You know, he can floor to floor.
05:25We call it floor to floor.
05:26So a cylinder head.
05:27He worked in the machine shop for me.
05:29He ran a body shop that I used to own.
05:32I got out of the body shop business.
05:34It's been, oh man, at least probably eight, ten years.
05:37There was another building, a location.
05:39I had a body shop for about 13, 14 years and he ran that.
05:43So he's a lot more capable.
05:46But I just appreciate the honesty because most would shy away from that.
05:49Yeah.
05:50You know, it's like, hey, but I've been around it and I've worked with the best mechanics and so, you know, this would be work as a team.
05:56Yeah.
05:56He's never actually been, I've never paid him to bend over a fender and work on a car.
06:00So that's true.
06:01But he's, he's, he's pretty capable.
06:03Well, it's been great to meet you, Todd.
06:05Nice to meet you.
06:05And we'll take good care of you.
06:06Yeah.
06:06Thank you so much.
06:07Thank you.
06:07So, the first thing I notice is, come in close and maybe you can hear this.
06:30That is weird.
06:31Now, Todd, a gentleman that I just met and I think he'd be mad.
06:42You can really hear it with the hood on.
06:47It could be a bearing in an alternator or something.
06:50You got a long screwdriver?
06:56Shoot down here at this alternator.
07:01Okay, let's, uh, first thing I want to do at alternator is ground like a mother.
07:11Let's, uh, pull the belt off and then check it.
07:13Okay.
07:14Let's go ahead and shut it off.
07:15So, Todd bought this car.
07:19He wanted a, he wanted a Mini Max and he wanted this body style.
07:23I'm not going to chastise Todd, but I'm going to, I'm going to reiterate this.
07:26Don't ever, ever, never, ever buy a used car without having your mechanic look at it first.
07:34Because if he'd have brought this to me, I would have gone through the whole thing like
07:39we've talked about on our used car inspection.
07:41And I actually got a great used car inspection, uh, that you can purchase, uh, it's a video and
07:47a pamphlet and everything, uh, you can download.
07:49And it'll talk to you about some of the things you can look at before you even bring it to
07:54me.
07:54But if he'd have brought this to me, we would have done all these inspections and he could
07:58have then taken it back to the dealer.
08:00If it's still a good buy and said, Hey man, I got, you know, this alternator howling and
08:04making noise.
08:05If that's what it is, we're going to diagnose that.
08:07But, uh, I'm sure we're going to find a bunch of other things.
08:10This engine's infamous for an oil pump drive belt.
08:14It actually has a cog belt down in the oil pan, rubber belt, not making this up.
08:20We're in fact going to replace that belt.
08:22Um, and I'll show it to you, uh, that needs to be replaced.
08:25I think the manufacturer recommends it inspected at 70 or 80,000 miles, but to inspect it, you've
08:31got to remove the tranny and drop the pan.
08:33And I'm thinking I would never just inspect it.
08:36I just go ahead and replace it then.
08:37But, uh, we'll get into that a little later, but we're going to go ahead and go through this
08:41and kind of do a full used car inspection now and give a full write up and let Todd know
08:46everything that we find.
08:48And hopefully it won't be too bad because he's already bought the car.
08:51So getting the serpentine belt off of one of these, uh, mini maxes is like, you want to
08:55shoot yourself in the head.
08:56They, they don't make it very easy.
08:58Uh, like there's like a bracket in front of the whole thing and everything.
09:01If this cover weds down in there and it goes onto rivets, but you have about two inches
09:06of tolerance just about everywhere to snake it up out of there.
09:11Yeah, I guess we have to do work and get this, uh, this fan assembly up out of there.
09:15But what we're trying to do here is we just want to get the serpentine belt off of it and
09:19then see if the noise goes away.
09:22So the belt should be off.
09:23Now we could start it without it.
09:24That alternator, if I spin it by hand.
09:27Oh yeah, I see what you mean.
09:28It feels pretty good, but you know, once you put a belt on it and load it.
09:31Yeah, it might be how long.
09:32I think you're good.
09:32Let's, uh, we got it loose.
09:34Let's see if that noise goes away.
09:39Went away.
09:41Yep, noise went away.
09:45So we've either got an idler pulley or an alternator bearing, but you know, we can deal with that.
09:49At least it's not, you know, in the engine.
09:51What else did you find in this thing, dude?
09:53Um, other than that, just doing the vehicle inspection, it's really solid.
09:56Everything underneath it's clean.
09:58Everything's nice.
10:00Do you do a paint thickness gauge across it to see?
10:02I haven't done that one yet.
10:03Let me grab that thing.
10:04No, that's something I haven't done.
10:05So Caden, young pup, I love it when a young guy knows more than me, which is most of the
10:11time now in my life.
10:12Um, what I want to do is I want to, I want to see the back of the intake valves.
10:17So if I pull that water air intercooler off that intake manifold, can I at least get a
10:22bore scope in there?
10:23Um, cause it looks like, it looks like that cooler comes off pretty dang easy.
10:27Yeah.
10:28But it's an inline six.
10:29So you could possibly go through the throttle body right there.
10:32The intakes here on the side, almost like a, um, Cummins kind of, I think what we should
10:39do is get this up out of my way.
10:40Yeah.
10:41Just take all that crap off.
10:42This is four bolts that pops off.
10:44There's the inlet side.
10:46There's something weird that it, what I want to know is yeah, to the valves.
10:51So this is the inlet, the compressor side to the cooler, and then it comes out of here
10:55and it's cooled and it goes into the engine.
10:56Let's pull this hose off and see if we can get a bore scope.
10:59Let's just pull this hose off.
11:01Okay.
11:02Thanks dude.
11:03Appreciate it, man.
11:04You grab this tool and you just kind of go around the car and Americans are five to
11:08six mil thick.
11:10And what this does is this is kind of like a lie detector test.
11:13Think of it that way.
11:14So if you start probing your, see this is five and a half.
11:17The hood here is five.
11:20Okay.
11:22And you keep going.
11:23Now if you find Bondo or a guy that's repainted a fender or something like that, you'll be
11:28you know, eight, 10, 15.
11:30It'll get thicker.
11:30It'll get thicker.
11:32So that's what I mean by a lie detector test.
11:34This is a real quick way to just do around a whole car and go.
11:39See this car so far, at least on this driver's side, ain't never been painted.
11:46It's between five and six.
11:47See, robots paint these cars.
11:49Yeah.
11:49But then when you get a car fixed and you know, you got a guy that's painted, he's not
11:54a robot.
11:54Yeah.
11:55Not near as consistent.
11:56Yeah.
11:57See, the car's never been rear-ended because this whole thing is, it just takes you this
12:05long to do the dang thing.
12:07That just bounced around from panel to panel.
12:09Nope.
12:10Never been wrapped.
12:11Cool.
12:11Okay.
12:11Good.
12:11That's, that's the quickest way you can tell.
12:14Yeah.
12:14That's awesome.
12:15Yep.
12:16Okay.
12:16Uh, let's get a bore scope in the intake.
12:19I'll do the fishing if you want to drive it.
12:23Keep going down there towards the valve.
12:25It don't look so bad.
12:28Let's go right down there and let's look at the backside of that valve.
12:30Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
12:31Went around the corner.
12:32There you go.
12:33It doesn't look as bad as it could, but now that we're on the backside of the
12:39valve, that don't look good.
12:41Now we can send these pictures to the customer and we will recommend a cleaning of the intake,
12:46the EGR.
12:47I'm a little concerned with how wet it is in here.
12:51That, that's got me a little concerned.
12:54I'm wondering if we've maybe got, you know, 150,000 miles.
12:57Yeah.
12:57We, we might, we might have an EGR cooler that's seeping a little bit and we can pick
13:02that up on a pressure test too of the cooling system, but a lot of sludge, man.
13:07Yeah.
13:07It's got a lot of buildup going on.
13:09Okay.
13:10Let's pull it back out of there.
13:12Not as much sludge on that one.
13:14I would say quantitative, you know, compared to the other one.
13:17Okay.
13:18All right.
13:19We'll add that to the record, letting know some of the other little items.
13:23We'll have to get some authorization to get this fan up out of there so we can really
13:28feel all the pulleys and find out where that growling is coming from.
13:31Yeah.
13:31Figure out what that one is.
13:32See that on this side, there's an AC compressor and idler and the alternator.
13:36I'm getting ready to pull the transmission.
13:38Start doing the oil pump belt.
13:40Oh my gosh.
13:41Yeah.
13:42Oh my gosh.
13:43The one in the back of the motor, the fun one to get to.
13:46Oh my God.
13:47That was my parts.
13:49So.
13:49You see this belt?
13:54You're about to find out something that's almost embarrassing.
13:57I mean, it's like embarrassing.
13:59But that belt goes on the inside of a diesel motor.
14:04Call it the Minimax.
14:05This is the oil pump drive belt.
14:08When do they say it's supposed to be replaced?
14:10In 150,000 miles?
14:11But they say it's supposed to be inspected at like 90,000 miles.
14:16So I don't know why you wouldn't replace it because to inspect it, I guess you could go
14:21in a bore scope up through the oil pan hole and inspect it.
14:24You probably could, yeah.
14:25And then, you know, but what are you going to inspect?
14:27It's going to be dripping in oil.
14:29Yeah.
14:29You won't really be able to tell much without tearing it apart.
14:32You know, so.
14:33I'm asking an engineer at GM, a design engineer at GM.
14:39Now, maybe you don't work here any longer, but, you know, use your girlfriends or your
14:43wife to make the comment.
14:46Tell me, whose thought was that?
14:49I mean, we couldn't get a chain?
14:51It was that important that we use a belt?
14:53I just don't get that.
14:54I know I really, really want to have some inside information on why in the heck we did
14:59that.
15:00So that's one of the things we're doing on this.
15:02What's some of the other things we're doing?
15:03Um, we're also replacing the lower sprocket.
15:06We're doing a new alternator, new serpentine, tensioner, pulleys, new belt.
15:11Um, we're, it sounds like we're having trouble finding an alternator for it.
15:15I guess they're on nationwide back order.
15:16Well, that's because it's making a crap load of noise.
15:19Yeah, it's howling at us.
15:20Maybe what we'll do is we'll just rebuild it ourselves and replace the barrier in it.
15:23And then, uh, we'll put a new, uh, lower sprocket on it.
15:27But anyway, follow along.
15:32It'll be a fun ride.
15:33It ain't cheap.
15:34I, but this is maintenance.
15:36This is just like, this is a maintenance item that you got to do on these mini maxes.
15:41And we'll show you how it's done.
15:42Three hours later.
15:44Holy smoke, dude.
15:47Are you falling in love with this thing?
15:49No, sir.
15:50Not, uh, 100% the office.
15:53I'm just getting the rear cover off.
15:55And then we'll be able to see the belt and the pulleys and actually be able to inspect it several hours later.
16:01And I learned something, too, while I was tearing this apart.
16:06Well, do tell, brother.
16:08Do tell.
16:08The injection pump's back here on the bell housing, too.
16:11Runs off the back of the...
16:12Oh, yeah.
16:14I did not.
16:15So the gear train's in the back.
16:16Yeah, the gear, kind of like the newer power strokes and stuff like that.
16:20Oh, that looks easy to replace, too.
16:22Doesn't it, though?
16:22Boy, when you get a fuel system contamination on this ride, it's going to be...
16:28And I'm pretty certain that's a CP4-style pump, too, like the Duramax is running, isn't it?
16:34We'll have to look into it.
16:35I'm curious.
16:35I don't know what style injection pump they're on.
16:37Wow.
16:38Okay, so it's been a good, solid half a day, hadn't it?
16:43Yep, yep.
16:44A good, solid half a day, and we're almost to the inspection part of it.
16:48You can almost look at it.
16:51This is our first go-around with one of these.
16:54I know there's a lot of dealer techs out there that probably have had some experience with these.
16:58And if you've got some tips and tricks, man, we love the comments.
17:01There's about 16 bolts, little 8-millimeter bolts that hold that rear cover on.
17:08And you've got your rear main seal.
17:09This is the plug for your high-pressure pump.
17:12And let me show you the belt.
17:14That much play in it.
17:16But look, there's a chain that drives the high-pressure pump.
17:20There's also a chain that goes up.
17:25What's that other chain driving up there?
17:26I haven't figured that one out yet.
17:28We're going to figure that out.
17:30So I'm still back to my basic question.
17:32Why didn't we put a chain to drive the stinking oil pump?
17:36I don't get it.
17:37So anyway, we'll put the new belt on and then we'll show you how much play the new belt's got in it.
17:45The truck's got 145,000 miles on it with that much play on it.
17:50So let's see.
17:51A few moments later.
17:53Okay, let's check it out.
17:55It's cramped up in here.
17:55Sometimes guys like to leave, you know, like in this case, it's a pain in the butt working with this training and transfer case in your way.
18:03But it's actually quicker.
18:07And a lot of times we choose to do that.
18:10And so that's why the tranny's still in here.
18:13But let me show you.
18:14We got the new belt up in here with the pulley.
18:16And I want to show you the difference in the tension.
18:20Because this is what you're kind of looking for when you're inspecting them.
18:23Remember how much play the other one had in it?
18:26This one is a little tighter.
18:29Steel pulley here.
18:31And of course the crank is steel.
18:33You also got to replace the rear cover, right?
18:35Mm-hmm.
18:36Yep.
18:36Got a new rear main seal in it.
18:38So we'll replace the rear cover and keep going.
18:42But whoa, what a tough job.
18:45I also want to stress one thing that I do in my shop.
18:48I require on any shaft that turns on an engine, camshaft bolt, harmonic balancer bolt, flywheel bolt, not only do you torque them to spec, but always put blue Loctite on them.
18:59So that's just one of my pet peeves.
19:02So all my mechanics know that and are required to do that.
19:04So that nut that holds that oil pump shaft on there will get torqued to spec with a dab of blue Loctite.
19:12When you get the new cover, of course it's got the new rear main seal in it.
19:15It's got all the new bolts in it.
19:18Cleaned up.
19:19You don't have to worry about scraping gaskets or anything like that.
19:23It's good to go.
19:24And of course, it's made by our friendly neighbors.
19:29Thanks, GM.
19:31There you go.
19:32I'm loving that.
19:34We got that crazy oil pump drive belt installed in the back of that motor.
19:41And now we're going to do a bunch of services.
19:44Now, I don't know whether I told you on this guy, but this guy flew in from Alaska, bought the truck local.
19:50Because I've worked on actually quite a few people up in Alaska.
19:54I work on their vehicles.
19:56And then he's going to be bought a local.
19:59Going to have me do all the repairs and services.
20:01And we're doing a bunch of stuff.
20:03What else?
20:03We're doing.
20:04We got brakes all the way around.
20:06Yep.
20:06All new pads and rotors all the way around.
20:08Front and rear diff surfaces.
20:10Transfer case service.
20:11Brake fluid flush.
20:13Transmission service and filter.
20:15And then fuel filter as well.
20:17And diesel fuel filter.
20:18Now, what about our suspension?
20:22Everything.
20:23Because here's my, let me tell you my philosophy.
20:26Struts and shocks are exactly like a bad marriage.
20:29I've used this analogy before.
20:31You know, you get married, the honeymoon, everything's great.
20:34You know, that's a new car, a new strut and shock.
20:36And most likely, unless you married a psycho, the marriage doesn't go bad.
20:42Boom, like that.
20:43It slowly, progressively gets worse and worse and worse.
20:46Until one day, you wake up and your life is a mess.
20:50You know?
20:50And if you look back on it, it was like, it just got worse and worse and worse and worse.
20:54And you didn't do anything to maintain it or repair it.
20:56Same way with struts and shocks.
20:58They don't, you don't wake up one day and all of a sudden the strut's just blown out.
21:01That's so rare.
21:02What happens is they degrade internally where the piston and the cylinder rides in the cylinder.
21:08And you start getting wear on that and it starts leaking and collapsing too rapidly.
21:13The rebound rate isn't right.
21:14And so, they wear out.
21:17So, what I'm telling you is if you've got a vehicle with more than 80,000, 100,000 miles on it,
21:21even if your struts aren't leaking externally, they're shot.
21:25They need to be replaced.
21:26And you can recommend that to the customer.
21:28And usually what the customer will feel like after they get, you know, the suspensions all tightened up like that,
21:33they feel like they're having a honeymoon again.
21:35So, just a tip, just because it doesn't look bad doesn't mean that it hasn't ran its distance on the life of its, you know, the service life of it.
21:44Yeah, we did recommend struts, front and rear on this.
21:47I don't think he bid on the struts.
21:49So, I think he passed.
21:50All the ball joints and everything, tie rods are good.
21:52Yeah, ball joints, tie rods are all tied.
21:53Drag links look good.
21:55Yep, everything.
21:56Electric power steering, so we don't have to flush that.
21:58But, you know, check your bushings on the rack, make sure they're all good.
22:01Mm-hmm.
22:01It looks pretty good here.
22:03We still got that alternator that's noisy as all heck to do, right?
22:06Yep, and we got a new one, actually.
22:07We were able to overnight one.
22:08And then let's check, because, you know, he's buying this here and driving it up to Alaska.
22:14Let's make sure that we look between the rear of the condenser and the front of the radiator.
22:19Mm-hmm.
22:19Make sure it's clean if you have to pull off the shield up top.
22:22Let's just check that.
22:23That's always something, you know, especially 100,000 miles plus.
22:26I don't know where, you know, some vehicles, I've had videos on this.
22:30I mean, we get a bird's nest in front of the radiator, and it blocks, you know, more than 50% of your airflow.
22:35So, your AC pressures get higher because, you know, you're not drawing air through with the fans.
22:40That's not cool enough.
22:41Your condenser's not coming down, and then, of course, you know, it's not good for the engine.
22:44Yeah, engine starts overheating.
22:46Other than that, what else you got going, dude?
22:49We're going to do, after all the servicing, we're going to drop it down.
22:52I'm going to replace the alternator.
22:53We got a new one, new serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys, and then we're going to pull the intake and walnut blast it.
23:01Is this our fuel sample out of this?
23:03No, not out of this. This is out of that dually I had in here yesterday.
23:06All right, let's draw a fuel sample out of there.
23:08Okay.
23:08And are we doing a fuel filter on this?
23:10Yes.
23:10So, that's a good time to take a look.
23:12And I want you to look at the bottom of that, you know, really with a microscope.
23:16Okay.
23:16And let's make sure he's got no problems because diesel fuel systems and, you know, 150,000 miles, I don't want the guy to drive out of here and, you know, halfway to Alaska have a problem.
23:26Especially where that injection pump's at on this wall that's here.
23:28This ain't going to be some Johnny Mac by the railroad track fixing that.
23:33No, no, that's not a fun one.
23:35So, you know, I want to make sure he's good to go.
23:37One more thing I would recommend we do is I would want to put a fast fuel system filter on this thing.
23:42Okay.
23:43Especially with the mileage and where he's headed.
23:46Okay.
23:46So, let's make sure we recommend that.
23:48I want to make sure.
23:49Okay.
23:49Let's get in with your service right and get back on that.
23:51We can do that.
23:52Guys, that's how it works.
23:53You know, when you build a good business and you got a good reputation, people expect you to be their crystal ball.
24:00And it's hard to be a crystal ball, but it's not.
24:03It's impossible to be perfect at it.
24:05But if you do your job right, you can be pretty dang good at it.
24:08I'm telling you, I got a bunch of outdoorsmen in this place, you know.
24:12We sure do love our outdoor.
24:14Don't we?
24:14We do.
24:15We love it.
24:16And it's different.
24:17You're a mountain man and I'm an ocean guy.
24:19Two completely different worlds.
24:21Listen, I was talking to Jake about this truck, this guy from Alaska.
24:25Yeah.
24:26What was his name again?
24:27Todd Palin.
24:28Todd.
24:28Super nice guy.
24:29Super nice.
24:30Yeah.
24:31And had a nice talk with him when he first came in.
24:34And I want to make sure we're taking good care of him.
24:36I just gave the explanation about struts and shocks.
24:40He needs them.
24:41He needs them.
24:41He needs them.
24:42And the other thing, we're going to do the fuel filter on it.
24:45That should be on the ticket.
24:46And all the fluids and filters, and that's great.
24:49If you're seeing, that's the thing I want to teach everybody that's watching and listening.
24:53If you see material in your fuel filter, you're a long way past going over the cliff.
24:58You know, sure, go ahead and change the filter and, you know, don't do anything and keep driving it.
25:05But you've got a ticking time bomb and it's going off.
25:07You know, it's got a slow fuse on it, but the fuse has been lit.
25:12So that's what I'll say about that.
25:14But that's why if you can see it with your naked eye.
25:17But I want to see with a microscope, especially since this thing's going away a couple thousand miles from us.
25:23And I would highly recommend we sell him a fast fuel filter system.
25:28That is that and an additive or additive in the tank.
25:33Every other tank full or something, you know, gives that lubricity in it.
25:36And we want to make sure we recommend that.
25:38Other than that, I think we're good to go.
25:40I did tell him, too, that I want him to look at the front of the radiator, between the radiator and the condenser.
25:44And make sure we've got no bird's nest there because, you know, he's taking this away from us.
25:48Oh, yeah.
25:48And then you make sure that if the AC is blowing cold, you know, you go through all the functions and everything.
25:53I mean everything.
25:54The blend doors.
25:55I don't want him pulling out of here and his seatbelt not retracted.
26:00Yeah.
26:00Okay?
26:00I want everything looked at so it's good to go because that's really what we told him we'd do for it.
26:05Absolutely.
26:05Okay?
26:05It's quality.
26:06I think that's it.
26:08That's it.
