00:00it was a grainy video and taken from a distance and she's just walking casually down the sidewalk
00:18so rare for someone to go missing in today's DNA and there be no sign of life i literally
00:26texted her i was like girl you better not be dead i was very scared the life through 60 applications
00:32show very precisely that after walking in one direction she immediately was in a vehicle
00:37traveling at 40 miles an hour in the opposite direction we thought the worst for several days
00:43several weeks and several months still no signs of life for her so we got a call in early february
00:50from a man who had located remains in a wooded area the bones are scattered she had long fingernails
01:01with black nail polish on and they find one of those nails with a black nail polish we're going to begin
01:08tonight with breaking news we can now confirm the remains of 16 year old susanna morales have been
01:13found when reality set in and it was her it sucked one of the police officers stumbles upon a firearm
01:24that's in the woods we ran the serial number and it returned as stolen there was no way the gun and
01:32suzanna's case were not connected at that point her case went from a missing person to a homicide
01:43your wife is in a bar he said she's unresponsive this is what he's going to tell you
01:48out of that situation and i grab the gun trying to find the first place to put a body no sir the only
01:54thing they could do was kill him you want to say anything leave the jury and you find the defendant
02:02she was a outgoing loving sweet young lady a normal happy teenager she grew up here in
02:24gwinnett county in norcross susanna morales had just turned 16. she really liked music kind of making
02:32like dances and songs and tick tocks um like kids are doing and just was a really like you know go
02:37lucky fun person we got a student of morales in the wild we were close friends enough that she could
02:47tell her mom that she was coming to my house and i would cover for her as a friend and and that night
02:52she never went to esmeralda's house she instead went over to see her friends kelly and elissa they lived
03:00at the sterling glenn apartment complex they did admit to smoking some marijuana that evening but
03:06just hanging out with friends around 10 o'clock susanna's mother texted her and told her to head
03:11home it's just about a half mile from the exit where she left the apartment complex back to her home
03:19a surveillance camera and a community center captured susanna on her way home
03:24it was a grainy video and taken from a distance she's just walking casually down the sidewalk
03:30susanna never arrived home that night
03:37that night i didn't sleep i was just i'm hoping to hear from her i kept calling her and her friends to
03:43see if there was an update but um she never answered i was like okay she's not her friend's house maybe
03:48she's with her boyfriend but her boyfriend had no clue where she was at either like i literally
03:53texted her i was like girl you better not be dead i was very scared like i love us there's no words
04:00to describe um how i felt i was i'm desperate to know where she was worried anxious that um that she
04:08was kidnapped that they were torturing her that she was lost somewhere
04:12the following morning susanna's family did make contact with gwinnett county police to let them
04:20know she had not returned home from the night before we wanted for them to start looking for her right
04:25away but they let us know that we had to wait 48 hours before we officially declared her missing
04:31person and that's because in the vast majority of missing persons cases particularly with juveniles
04:38they do turn back up but then susanna's friends showed police what they had seen on a popular app
04:43they shared with her called life 360 which tracked the movements of susanna's cell phone a live 360
04:50application show very precisely that after walking in one direction she immediately was in a vehicle
04:56traveling at 40 miles an hour in the opposite direction away from her apartment a couple moments
05:02later a crash alert is sent which we believe was when her phone was thrown out of the vehicle
05:08and then after that there was no more movement that piece of evidence really made the police
05:17department believe that something more was involved here that it was potentially that she was and had
05:23been taken it's so rare for someone to go missing in today's day and age and there be no sign of life
05:31this is suzanne is a beautiful young girl and i just began thinking the worst of the worst
05:41everyone was extremely concerned so they quickly ruled out any suspects of family friends or the
05:47boyfriend at that point and it just was straight up we had no idea what happened to her the family of
05:53course they are posting flyers they are on social media so they're going all over the place
06:02i was on google earth driving around thinking of different paths that she could have taken maybe
06:08it was just constant it was pretty much 24 7. this friday her family and friends are planning another walk
06:15with the posters and the missing person signs hoping it'll bring her back home as you can see here she was
06:21last seen wearing a yellow tank top and light colored jeans we got the worst for several days several
06:27weeks and several months
06:33so all the way through the fall uh and winter of 2022 and into the beginning of 2023 the family received
06:41hundreds of phone calls from strangers saying that they had seen suzanna we got reportings reported
06:48sightings of her in michigan in tennessee and south carolina i even went to north carolina one time
06:57because they said that they saw her eating from a trash can but it turned out to not be true family
07:02received extortion calls from mexico from other places saying they had suzanna that they had taken her
07:09and that they would give her back for a couple thousand dollars none that turned out to be true no
07:15it was a traumatizing experience they went through almost seven months of absolute hell it's one thing
07:22to know that your child is dead it's another to hold out hope that maybe she'll come back maybe she'll turn
07:30up still no signs of life for her until we got a call in early february from a man who had located
07:38remains in a wooded area some 30 miles north from where suzanna was last seen alive how are you doing
07:52it was so far from where she was reported missing that i still didn't want to want to believe it i'm
07:58like oh i hope this isn't suzanna oh wow and there's more i walked straight that way
08:11the bones are scattered we see some partial um hair she had long fingernails with black nail polish on
08:19and they find one of those nails with the black nail polish when reality set in and it was her
08:26it sucked we're going to begin tonight with breaking news we can now confirm the remains
08:35of 16 year old suzanna morales have been found detectives are still investigating the manner
08:40and the cause of her death no savvy they came to our house and let us know that they had found her
08:45remains i never thought i would hear those words we were just hoping that she was somewhere safe
08:53that wasn't our case at that point her case went from a missing person to a homicide we found
09:05absolutely no traces of any clothing fibers shoes the fact that she was not clothed immediately made us
09:15consider that there had been a sexual assault involved as well
09:18police returned to the scene the next day for a full search of the area while they're doing that grid
09:25search one of the police officers stumbles upon a firearm that's in the woods a glock 19 semi-automatic
09:33pistol that was near to her body probably within 50 yards or so to her body we ran the serial number
09:40and it returned as stolen this was a big lead at that point it was it was reported stolen the night
09:48that suzanna went missing from the same complex sterling glenn apartments there was no way the gun
09:55and suzanna's case were not connected
10:13a beautiful 16 year old girl suzanna morales was later as monday
10:18it was a bittersweet feeling there was a lot of tears we were just glad that we could say our
10:30goodbyes even though we at that time we still had absolutely no clue exactly what happened to her
10:40but detectives at gwyneth county police headquarters felt they were getting closer to some answers
10:45thanks to the gun found at the scene we end up tracking that gun and that gun comes back to miles
10:52bryant what's up man hey mr bryant miles bryant was a 22 year old police officer in the small town of
10:59doraville georgia who also worked part-time as a security officer at the apartment complex and we find
11:06out just hours after suzanna went missing miles bryant had called to make a report of a stolen firearm
11:13the um my black 19 holster is on the floorboard and my black 19 is always together you know right
11:20uh he reported it had been stolen out of his vehicle uh which was parked at the sterling glenn
11:26apartments oh i hate to say i think i left my thing they didn't smash the window or nothing
11:30around left the door unlocked when i saw that my first thought was someone was going through vehicles
11:37maybe suzanna witnessed this and said something they believed that whomever was responsible for
11:44taking suzanna had stolen his firearm but something seemed off to investigators as they reviewed the
11:50body cam footage made six months earlier when bryant first reported the gun stolen he tells the officer
11:56that he doesn't want it investigated he just wants it documented i don't really care about you know
12:03the detectives like that i just want to get on the cac at least he called it on the side of the road
12:07with it you know now all of us in law enforcement know that a gun loose on the street is not a good
12:13thing he also states that his wallet was stolen that night i got my wallet i don't know where my wallet
12:19um so i can't find my wallet but he never requests another license and he uses that same license
12:27shortly later at a traffic stop so then i began looking into miles bryant we had had multiple
12:37encounters with him in other incidences where he attempted to get into a female's apartment three
12:45months after suzanna disappeared bryant was caught on surveillance cameras trying to get into the home
12:51of a former high school classmate he is seen on ring doorbell cameras two times going to her house
12:59when she he knows she's not there one of the times bryant who served in the national guard was wearing
13:04his guard pants and camp i'm trying to get into her apartment trying to break into her home
13:10she calls law enforcement okay do you know this person who lived it my little friend he was in my
13:17military he still works for the call were y'all in a relationship no never
13:25that young lady had filed a complaint with the city of doraville about his actions they did open an
13:33internal affairs investigation they quickly closed it out without speaking to her about it
13:39and then investigators began to search through bryant's work record as a police officer i wanted
13:46to review any type of body cams where he had any involvement with juveniles if he had any missing
13:54persons those type cases just two months before suzanna disappeared officer bryant's own body camera
14:01showed him dealing with a teen who had run away this is her i was particularly
14:08interesting to us because this uh this young girl i believe was maybe 13 or 14 at the time
14:15was a young hispanic female you want to go to jail that's what you want you don't want to go to jail
14:21well that's the route you're headed he was pretty much scolding the juvenile for running away
14:25so if somebody picked you up and raped you then what
14:30you didn't think about that did you i don't really think it's gonna happen you don't think it's gonna happen
14:34i do rips almost every day and he was telling this juvenile that what would you do if someone like
14:42my size were to kidnap you rape you and dump you in the woods people are my size big and just come
14:51snatch you up you can scream you shower you want they're gonna throw you in the back of the van and
14:54go take you when your parents never see you again and there's nothing you can do you can't fight it
14:58i mean you you're strong i promise you i bet you're strong but you're not that strong
15:02and that caught my attention because that's exactly what happened to suzanna morales
15:12it's a pattern of him being inappropriate with women that shows his intent and his motive
15:20that we felt was sexual in nature towards young women so at that point in order to essentially rule
15:30mr bryant out as a suspect the winnet county police department obtained a search warrant for
15:36his phone record miles phone records put him at the location where suzanna was found
15:42and the gps data showed bryant had returned to the area the following morning so the fact that he went
15:49back out there in the morning means to me that he was trying to find his gun again he couldn't find it he
15:56freaked out came back home called police and reported it as stolen because he's law enforcement
16:02first thought is that he's not involved but the more that they keep digging the more it comes back
16:08that clearly he is so now detectives wanted to bring bryant in for questioning without making him think
16:17he was a suspect we you know you got some time for us to come up to our headquarters and just talk
16:22about you know what you see on a daily basis and stuff like that yeah and we just kind of played
16:28into that like hey can you come help us you know cop to cop we're we're literally talking to everyone
16:34here but we're just trying to document every you know we got no leads man we're just trying to
16:38trying to document everything that's all we are no fuck okay you got to come and drop this we'll
16:42drive you man yeah we'll take you up there yeah you don't gotta waste your gas or anything and all
16:46that stuff it was clear he was nervous and concerned um you got any guns or anything on me no i don't
16:52you don't okay can i pass you down just to make sure what's going on you're good it's our policy man
17:00so he came in consensually and we didn't have a warrant signed at that point we were in the process of
17:07getting it signed but he came in on his own the whole case is circumstantial but every single piece
17:14of evidence puts him at that scene they needed a concession i mean i'm the lead on the susana morales
17:32and i actually saw the next day like someone broke into your car yeah i didn't begin the
17:36interview accusatory in any way i continued to tell him you know we really need help with this
17:44so i'm thinking it's probably this is like our theory we're working on right now we're thinking
17:48it's probably going to be related because it was kind of the same night like the person who probably
17:52did that to you may know something i wanted to get him comfortable and locked into a story about what
18:00he did that night without him having any knowledge of what we already had so um i know that your your
18:07gun was stolen do you know if it was located or anything yet no i've already been i haven't run it yet
18:11okay um all right so your gun i want to check that really quick let's see if it was found
18:17okay all right um so basically my sergeant did confirm so we did find your gun
18:23and then i let him know we have found your gun okay all right um so basically my sergeant did confirm so
18:46we did find your gun actually in his face at that point i think he was like oh crap yeah so that's
18:53that's just like raising suspicion even more not with you but like i think it's the same person who
18:57probably kind of it wasn't listed as stolen before but i couldn't figure out who had found it but um
19:04you watch the news you know we found javana but there was actually a gun found out there too
19:09yeah and it's the same serial number he just verified it i know so help me walk through it a
19:16little bit like help me some kind of way at that point i began continuing like oh man that's crazy is
19:24there any possibility you've ever been out there do you ever go in the woods and stuff out there in the
19:28woods now is there any reason why you would have dropped it out there maybe no no y'all do any training
19:33out there or anything did you know her at all morale nothing never never saw her like playing
19:39basketball or anything with other kids and i never recognized her at all that is crazy i continued to
19:47try to keep him comfortable and give him a chance to lie to me again so i know you heard about it did
19:55you research it at all the case status or anything but detectives had already searched brian's phone
20:06he's looking up the location of the area where susanna's body's found how long does it take for
20:12a body to decompose this is before she's found your gun was found there you know how this goes we have to
20:19do like this that and a third to do everything um which we did we got our due diligence because i was
20:26like hey you know i knew that you were a cop i'm not done i've been doing this a little while so then
20:31i dropped another piece of evidence we have your phone records and i know you were out there basically
20:38we know
20:41we know we were there but we need to figure out why and what happened i don't think you're back i don't
20:47know you weren't brought up here in handcuffs or anything yeah no no so
20:53and i have your back that's what i'm saying like you're like family you know what i'm saying
20:56but we're all family here i've got to figure out what happened because there's no arguing
21:04if you were there if you weren't you know you were okay tell me what happened please i don't know
21:11i literally was with my girlfriend on the phone my girlfriend and that's it i think i was on
21:18instagram so i mean you can't just understand it's just a mere coincidence that you get up in the
21:24woods the same place suzanne her body was on there dude your gun is out of war this is the time to be
21:32100 percent honest i swear i'm being honest that what that is crazy miles now i'm nervous we got
21:38your phone in the woods three hours after why were you in the woods i wasn't in the woods you were in
21:44the woods you were it's not it's a question about if you are a cold-blooded killer yeah or if you made
21:52a mistake that's literally where we're at right now that that's where we are okay i'm letting you know
22:00and i i just told you what the district attorney's office is probably going to use against you if
22:04they pursue anything how do you think that's going to look that i'm just going to explain what happened
22:13it's not a it's not a question i got to know you're involved no we're not involved no i would not
22:19do that and say well maybe i messed up no none of that i'm not involved not involved i was getting
22:25with my girlfriend that entire night did you kill her no were you with her when she died no why did
22:32you dump her body there i didn't dump her body there were you trying to help her she was already
22:37dead when you found her no in my head i'm like okay he targets women he victimizes women maybe being
22:45interviewed by a woman isn't the best idea you got anything else no
22:51so it wasn't really hard to make that decision and ask sergeant poppy and detective george that
22:58to take over the interview we were hoping to come in here today and you were going to give us a good
23:02reason on why it's not you and unfortunately it's gone the other way for you you just got a man out
23:08you're a military man you're a police officer we don't know why you did this to this girl i didn't
23:12i would not say you said the only thing now you can do is you know explain what happened and maybe
23:20show some remorse i did not do i feel bad that nothing should happen to somebody but i didn't do
23:26that sorry i don't believe it you know i love my job i love my career but never i wouldn't do that if i was
23:34working at qt what did you do because you have this job and you thought you could get away with it
23:42no what no that's even more messed up i'm hoping you were going to be a man thrown up to whatever you
23:49did but instead you sit there be disgusting not a cop you know you don't represent this bad
23:56at all or this country honor integrity sacrifice you're none of those at the end of the interview
24:10we advised him that he was going to be placed under arrest he was placed in the handcuffs and taken
24:15to gwinnett county jail just in tonight a gwinnett county grand jury indicted miles bryant on malice
24:21murder charges for the deaths of susana morales last summer we believe he overpowered her raped her
24:27killed her and dumped her body he's a evil person and sexually deviant person who was looking for a
24:34target and sadly susana was easy prey for him this type of crime at the hand of a law enforcement officer
24:42uh evokes anger uh even within the ranks of this agency
24:46i couldn't really believe it honestly i couldn't believe that an officer would do it i couldn't
24:54believe anyone could do this but let alone an officer
25:05the defendant will please stand his name is miles bryant
25:10susana morales's friends and family were in court every day it's like you relive everything again the
25:21pain it came back for those two weeks i saw a murderer that's all i could see he killed my best friend
25:30he was supposed to serve and protect worked as a police officer for the city of dorville police department
25:45but he didn't do any of those things instead he abused the one and he used his badge and he used his
25:53position to satisfy his own sexual desires he is a cop who turned into a killer his victim 16 year old susana morales
26:08but prosecutors knew the case was no slam dunk the medical examiner was unable to conclude
26:16a cause of death and the only reason we didn't have that is because of the actions of miles
26:33he took that body and dumped poor susanna in those woods you know that body is out there not only
26:40decomposing but the elements are there pretty much destroying and washing away any chance of dna or
26:47physical evidence for us to have the defendant doesn't get to escape justice because he's doing it
26:54because he's really covering his tracks he doesn't get to escape justice does the defense wish to make an
27:04opening statement yes all right miss drape it is a tragedy what happened to susanna morales she's a
27:13beautiful young lady makes me very upset at mr bryant but you don't have to like my point and in fact
27:23at the conclusion of this trial you're going to think that he is the most calloused uncaring coward that you
27:31have ever seen however he is not guilty of the murder or felony murder in this particular case
27:40their strategy was to admit that he was a bad guy but that he didn't kill her
27:48and you're going to hear from miles brunt he's going to explain to you exactly what happened we were
27:55excited because he has never told us why he did this and so throughout the trial we're waiting for him to take
28:04the stand he's going to explain to you his thinking and i can promise you you are going to hate that young
28:12man sitting here but at the conclusion of this trial i'm going to come back up here
28:18and tell you it's fine to hate miles brunt you can hate him all you want however i'm going to ask you
28:27to return a verdict that holds him accountable for his actions but it's not murder it's not felony
28:34murder it's not kidnapping and it's not criminal intent to commit a rape but the defense was not going
28:41to contest the charge of concealing the death of susana would you please tell the jury who susana is
28:50to you my daughter can you tell us a little bit about susana
29:06very joyful always smiling i put her family and her friends on the stand first i believed very strongly
29:15that his lawyer would try to argue that this was an overdose her friends were very forthcoming
29:20that they had smoked marijuana that night and that they had smoked regularly before that night
29:27do you know how often that susana would smoke marijuana
29:35only when she would go see her friends um and she did it once at home and then another time i found it
29:41in her shoe hidden i got to her for that how long was it but from when susana disappeared to when the
29:49police found her uh body almost seven months what went through your mind at that moment when you
29:57heard me
29:58i did not want that note that those news
30:10i was waiting for her i'm still waiting for her
30:24my name is lieutenant xavier marie spiggers badge 1059 lieutenant xavier biggers became close to
30:31susana's family after he was assigned to her missing persons case just for me the the anguish and the
30:39the sadness and the um that the mother like posed it um
30:44i'm sorry i apologize sorry but um dude would you like some water i was surprised by lieutenant
30:56beggars i've never seen him emotional like that um i have a daughter the same age and my wife is his
31:02hispanic and um it it really touched me that i felt that it was my duty to try to find her i i actually
31:10neglected my family because i made sure um that i i went hunting for her and um it meant a lot to me
31:17police officers are human too and especially after we saw miles bryant who abused the badge to see the
31:27opposite that there are amazing cops out there who love and will do whatever they can to help and
31:33that's lieutenant beggars and it added to the expectation that miles bryant would take the stand
31:45today eight witnesses testified in the trial of miles bryant the former dorville police officer
31:50charged with kidnapping and murdering 16 year old susana morales good afternoon ma'am can you say your
31:57name elisha bates elisha bates elisha bates was the woman who had reported bryant tried to break into
32:03her apartment i heard the knocking so i knew it was miles i grabbed my gun and i peeked through the
32:08peephole and what did you see when you looked at the people at first he was just standing there he was
32:13knocking he started knocking on the door and then as i backed away he started kicking on it harder
32:18i moved to the living room of the house and i started calling 9-1-1 at a distance so he wouldn't
32:22hear the phone call miss bates was essential because it showed that miles's behavior to her was just
32:33creepy what do you have um mr bryant saved and that's your problem miles the stalker with an axe
32:40and a hole did you put that in there i sure did he has a pattern of targeting young vulnerable women
32:48um and being inappropriate with them to us that shows his intent and his motive that we felt was
32:58sexual in nature towards young women and miss bates the person who was attempting to um get into your
33:07home do you see your plural yes ma'am please point him out to the juror and tell us what he's wearing
33:12an orange button up with a gray tie he took his glasses off and he has on black shoes please let
33:20the record reflect that the witness had identified the defendant on her and i have no other questions
33:26prosecutors waited until near the end of their case to put on the medical examiner dr carroll terry
33:32who did not find a cause of death that was a huge hurdle for us in terms of proving to a jury
33:39that the defendant was the person who had killed her and that he had done so intentionally i believe
33:47if i had had the intact body i could have could have come up with a specific cause of death but i'm
33:55limited based on what i have the body is too decomposed all i have is a skeleton i'm very suspicious of
34:02strangulation chest compression suffocation smothering something of that nature and i just do not
34:09have the body in a condition where i can prove that or disprove that and so i've called it undetermined
34:17my name is detective angela carter angela carter was the prosecution's final witness in the trial
34:23she was used to introduce the three-hour interrogation that she conducted of bryant
34:29we know we were there pointing out what she thought was a slip of the tongue when bryant was asked if he
34:35knew where suzanna lived he started to say she said twice and then quickly corrected himself
34:43to what what did he correct himself they said i have no clue she said she was walking home and
34:50i don't know she said she's in the nearby what was that why was that of interest
34:55because to me it pointed out that he spoke to her despite his claims that he had not correct and then the
35:02prosecutor asked about a a portion of the video after detectives had left the room when bryant was
35:08talking to himself oh man i cannot go down for this
35:23i'm gonna find out who did this and i cannot go down for this were you able to hear
35:30those statements on the video he knew we were watching so the defendant said he's gonna find
35:36out who did this there at the end let me ask did you ever find anyone whom you believed to be
35:42associated with uh killing suzanna morales other than the defendant no
35:52it's my understanding that the state is going to rest prosecutors now prepared for bryant himself
35:59to take the stand i know those jurors are anxious and that's in the back of their mind because the
36:04defense attorney had promised he was going to take the stand um mr bryant i need to ask you some
36:11questions do you swear or affirm that testimony about to give in this case is the truth the whole
36:17truth and nothing but the truth okay we heard the jail calls where his family is telling him
36:24i don't know if you can do this son do you personally miles bryant want to testify or not
36:30no man okay utter shock i knew very clearly at that point that that was going to be
36:38a monumental frustration for the jury his lawyer is a fine lawyer she was stuck with what her client did
36:44to her which was promised to testify and then go back on that promise the case would go to the jury
36:50the next day after closing arguments my defense have any closing yes ma'am thank you good morning
37:05everyone how are you just because mr bryant was in the woods where that body was found in and of itself
37:13is not enough for a guilty verdict there has to be more we don't even know how she died there is zero
37:22evidence that he caused her death is it unreasonable to think that he stops and says hey i got some
37:29edibles let's go smoke some more and her getting in the car there is zero evidence that she was forced in
37:36that part zero it's okay not to lie at once think it's disgusting this is a terrible police officer
37:48whatever it's okay and it's okay to feel sick when you realize that there are other reasonable theories
37:59and that she had to return a verdict of not guilty thank you all right you ready absolutely
38:10this badge is supposed to stand for
38:14it's supposed to stand for the obligation somebody takes to serve and to protect their community
38:21because the defendant did nothing he didn't serve he didn't protect he abused he took his power he took
38:32his badge and he used that to violate the law he used that murder he is a cop term killer he is a
38:44master manipulator he is a liar but don't let him manipulate you i'm asking you to do your job and to seek
38:51through the manipulations and the lies under red herrings and all of the other distractions that
38:58they're trying to prohibit you and look at the case and hold him guilty for the debtors
39:06news at four right now we are on verdict watch a gwinnett county jury is debating the fate of a
39:12former doraville police officer miles bryant we waited in the courthouse for hours it was the
39:18longest couple hours of my life good evening and has the jury reached a verdict the jury had been out
39:27for some five hours i was very nervous um i think i hold my breath that whole time state of georgia
39:34versus miles bryant miles had the same carefree look on his face i believe at that point he still felt
39:40like he was going to be found not guilty count one malice murder we the jury found the defendant guilty
39:56count two felony murder we the jury find the defendant guilty count three kidnapping we the jury find the
40:06defendant guilty guilty count four criminal attempt to commit rape we the jury find the defendant not
40:15guilty the jurors who believed him guilty of that charge agreed to find him not guilty because there
40:22was a genuine disagreement about that what we sometimes call a compromise verdict
40:26i first like to call up miss japan perez
40:37all he ever wanted was
40:38it was justice for what happened to her
40:49so i want to thank you for that
40:50i know nothing will ever bring her back
40:53there's nothing to be sorry about
41:05seeing my mom devastated every single day not knowing what could happen to my sister was very
41:10very very disappointing devastating
41:24every night i can't sleep without thinking of her
41:30um i felt some type of peace because i promised my daughter that i would get justice for her
41:35um that's why we asked the judge to give him life in business mr brilliant do you want to say anything
41:43go ahead no you don't sleep there i just want to apologize to everybody and to the people's family
41:53sorry that's it he stood up and apologized but there was no explanation no kind of remorse on his face
42:02and he didn't apologize for his actions he just apologized to the family and that was it one line
42:12the judge has two options and it's life imprisonment with the possibility of parole
42:17or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole mr bryant on count one malice murder i sent
42:25you to life without the possibility of parole prison is where he deserves to be
42:31you may go with the deputies he is a bad apple but mr bryant from the very beginning of being a police
42:38officer had no intention of protecting and serving his community only himself i always remember her by um
42:48her laugh her beautiful voice um she's my little sister and i'll never forget her
43:01uh
43:14so
