33:20This place is absolutely amazing.

33:22Well, thank you.

33:23We're one of the largest air museums on the west coast of the United States.

33:26It's got a great collection.

33:27I can't wait to look around.

33:28But first, I brought you something.

33:30My laser beam sight collector attack sight destroyer ground something, maybe.

33:35Ah, that's a beauty.

33:37You know, these things are not normally in that beautiful condition.

33:40This is practically mint.

33:41But this is a K-11 gun sight that was built for a B-24 Liberator turret.

33:45Oh, for a bomber?

33:46For a bomber.

33:47I thought it was a fighter.

33:48No, they're a little bit different.

33:49Sperry made gun sights for fighters, too.

33:52They were made around 1943, 1944, a little late in the war.

33:56But this K-11 was specifically for the nose gun of a B-24.

34:00Why would a B-24 have a nose gun?

34:02They don't maneuver where they cross-strap.

34:05During the Second World War, one of the biggest difficulties the bombers had is enemy fighters attacking them from the nose.

34:11They'd come straight on at them.

34:13And as they came at them, they had no way to defend themselves.

34:16So they actually built gun turrets into the nose of these bombers so that they would be able to fire at them.

34:20One of the real difficult things about aviation and gun sights in general is that what happens is you've got a target coming in at you like this, and then you're moving like this.

34:30So everything's in constant motion.

34:32So when you fire, you can't fire directly at whoever the target is.

34:35You've got to go ahead, yeah.

34:36You know, you have to go out and it arcs, the bullets arc around like this, and that'll catch them as they come in.

34:41I played every simulator in the 90s that was a plane simulator.

34:45Well, then you know.

34:46Yeah.

34:46That's exactly how it works.

34:47This, what it did is it would put a little sight called a PIP, a P-I-P, position indicator, right, right in the glass here.

34:55And it would show you where that you should aim in order to be able to hit that fighter.

34:59It's got a couple of things on it that are really unique, too.

35:02So right here, you can set the altitude, and you can set your own speed, and then you lock this into the turret so it's lined up with the guns.

35:09And whenever it moves, it'll put that reflection right up there on the sight so you know exactly where you should be shooting in order to be able to hit that enemy fighter as it comes in.

35:17And is that an actual time period piece, or is that?

35:19This is absolutely, it's probably the most pristine example of a K-11 gun sight I've ever seen.

35:26Really?

35:26This is something that is absolutely priceless.

35:29It is unique.

35:29It is a piece of American history from the Second World War.

35:36Best you've ever seen?

35:37So how much would you invest in something like this to have the best one on display?

35:41I cannot legally say, according to the American Alliance of Museums, I can never put a price on an artifact.

40:05this advanced the u.s air power like it had never been done before no more germans coming on the

40:10front huh germans japanese everything i mean this this set made the b24s just untouchable wow

40:17you see these a lot in the military business you will see them old pilots want to have them

40:22you know airplane enthusiasts want to have them and they sell frequently you'll see them hit the

40:27market okay have you ever seen one in this good of a condition no i will say that's the best

40:31condition i've ever seen you're the second person telling me that today you know one thing that's

40:35always missing when you look at these is the lamp and you've got the lamp in there that's always

40:40missing so that's a plus it's usually they're all beat up they're scratched pieces are broken on it

40:45well i got a really good reliable source it's priceless i don't think it's priceless we can go

40:51from there so you know my main concern how strong is the market with this and how much can i get out
