00:00It was a season of progress and perspective for Everton as David Moyes returned to steer
00:08the club through a landmark campaign their final year at Goodison Park. Grit, togetherness
00:14and crucial wins in pressure moments helped re-establish a sense of pride and purpose.
00:20But now the club turns to a new era. The move to the state-of-the-art Bramley-Moore Docks
00:25Stadium will reshape Everton's identity both on and off the pitch. It's more than just
00:31a venue, it's a statement of ambition. Increased capacity, improved matchday revenue and world-class
00:37facilities offer the platform for long-term growth. Moyes and the club hierarchy know the
00:42expectations will rise with the squad rebuild underway and the new leadership structure
00:47behind the scenes. Everton want to arrive into their new home with momentum and belief.
00:53And we spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World to explore what this transformative move
00:59means for the club's future.
01:04Well, let's look at Everton and just on the stadium move again. Obviously, it's had a bit
01:10of a naming right situation as well with the Hill-Dickinson Stadium. So it's becoming a bit
01:15more of a clearer image of what the future holds, you know, a massive change for Everton. And
01:22we've spoken before about Goodison and the way that a bit of mediocrity sort of overshadowed
01:27it over the last, you know, 20 or so years. You know, it's obviously a fine line and so,
01:33so hard to sort of push on from being, you know, managing to survive and then going further
01:40and further at the Premier League table. But they are seemingly taking the right steps. You know,
01:44David Moyes has really, really, you know, come in and took charge and really revived Everton
01:50last season. Just on the stadium, how excited are you to go? How excited are Everton fans
01:55to go? And I'm sure the group of players are as well and Moyes as well in terms of this
02:01new modern, you know, technology that everything involved with the stadium, it's all sort of
02:06a positivity for the city as well.
02:09Yeah, and I think it'll drive Everton on and off the pitch, to be honest with you. I mean,
02:16we're talking off the pitch, revenues are going to be boosted markedly, which, which,
02:21unfortunately, Everton couldn't do much more than they were doing it at Goodison Park just
02:25because of the infrastructure. But they've built a stadium to drive them into the modern era.
02:31And, you know, whether that's inside for your regular punter, your regular matchday goal
02:38or the hospitality, which the hospitality, that is something that drives the real revenue
02:45on a matchday. The name and right you mentioned, Hill Dickinson, you know, that'll be big for
02:53Everton, multi-million pound deal, long-term deal.
02:57And I think it's right that maybe Everton, I've had a local company who was sponsoring the
03:05stadium, you know, a touch of, I don't want to, it just seems, it just seems apt, you
03:13know, but Everton are trying to keep roots to the city and rather than going out and maybe
03:19getting, I don't know, for me personally, you know, a Qatar Airways, something like that
03:26was mooters, you know, links, just wouldn't sit right with me. You want someone who's maybe
03:32got lots of city or, so that'll help in terms of revenue coming in every season. And as
03:41you say, the players, why wouldn't you want to go and play in this stadium? Because it's
03:44magnificent now, you see, the two testers entered, it's on the third one against AS
03:49Roman on the 9th of August. I think by then, all the sponsorship, et cetera, will be done
03:55around the stadium. That's sort of the last touches, which is understandable, you know,
03:59why that's getting left so late. You know, the main thing is making sure that the stadium's
04:07ready to go for the first home game, which is against Brighton. Looking to fast track
04:13Everton back to challenging for Europe, which, you know, you've got a magnificent state-of-the-art
04:21stadium. That's what it's built for, to host those sorts of nights. So that's what
04:26I'd be eyeing. And I don't want to say this season will be a transition because Everton
04:30would want to make progress, but maybe the season after then, that's when they'll have
04:35a real good goal of getting back into Europe. But David Moyes is ambitious, don't get me
04:39wrong, and if Everton were pushing for Europe this season, then it would be a massive surprise.
