00:00Everson stand at the threshold of a transformative era with the imminent opening of their new stadium, marking a chance for the club to redefine itself and ignite a fresh chapter.
00:14This cutting-edge facility is more than just a venue. It embodies renewed ambition and the hope of reclaiming a place among the Premier League's elite.
00:22The new stadium is set to elevate Everson's brand, enhance fan experiences and strengthen the club's financial position, all vital factors in assembling a squad capable of sustained success.
00:35As the club prepares to host supporters in this state-of-the-art arena, the challenge lies in translating this off-field excitement into tangible results on the pitch.
00:45Everton must capitalise on the boost of new stadium whilst navigating the experience pressure that comes with it.
00:53We caught up with Will Rooney from Liverpool World to discuss how this landmark move could impact Everton's trajectory, the hurdles they face and how the fresh energy might shape transfer activity and overall team performance as they enter this new bold phase.
01:09Yeah, just on the transfer window, obviously a big summer of transition.
01:15David Moyes has said it ever since he came back to the club, how important this summer is going to be.
01:20We've mentioned it before, we've mentioned the players who are out of contract as well.
01:24Why has it been so quiet so far? Is it to do with the PSR deadline?
01:28Obviously, late June, that kicks in and then do you feel there's going to be a bit of a spark of business ever so slowly in terms of this adjusting to the new era at Everton?
01:41I think it's been slow because June is normally a bit of a slow month in terms of the transfer window.
01:47You look around the clubs that have done business so far and Liverpool have obviously done business and Manchester City.
01:53So maybe it's only the real clubs with money to spend who start that domino effect effectively.
02:01And then once, you know, players start moving on, then opportunities open up.
02:05Let's say, I think maybe the PSR situation, if Everton can sign a player on July 1st instead of June 30th,
02:13then it goes into the next set of accounts and Everton's accounts are improving all the time.
02:18So that'll help down the line.
02:21And it's just, as you say, players are on holiday.
02:23I think in the next couple of weeks, things might start getting a little bit livelier.
02:28Kenny Tete from Fulham, that looks, one that looks like we get, might be getting over the line on a free transfer.
02:35An addition at right back, which Everton have got options at right back.
02:39But Jake O'Brien was excellent in this after Moyes came in, but he's a natural centre-back.
02:46Probably rotate with Tete.
02:48Where's that lead and they can pass him maybe, you're thinking about there.
02:52Everton needs a new striker, at least one new striker, perhaps two,
02:56because Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as I think Stans will be to part of the football club.
03:02Armando Brogge has gone back to Chelsea.
03:05I think he needs a little bit of competition, a little bit more cover.
03:08Someone a bit more attacking maybe.
03:12So I never have got money to spend, but it's not like it's going to be a blank check.
03:20I think maybe it'll be a decent-sized funds, but not vast, vast amounts.
03:26And David Moyes has got to weigh up where it's best to spend his money.
03:29Where can he get free transfers?
03:31Who's available for loan?
03:33Loans generally come available later in the window when other clubs sign players,
03:40and then they're allowing players to go out.
03:42So who's going to be available on the loan market?
03:46So that's why it's a big sum for Everton.
03:48They probably could go out and buy players now,
03:51but they might be the right players for Everton at the minute.
03:53So there'll be conversation with lots of doubts ongoing with agents and clubs, etc.
04:00But it might just be a little bit later in Everton's business might really kick off a bit later
04:06and then accelerate towards the end of the window,
04:08especially in the loan market when players are becoming available.
04:12But I wouldn't panic yet.
04:14It's going to be a busy summer.
04:16Everyone's known it's going to be a busy summer.
04:18It's not like Everton are caught on the hop here
04:20and all of a sudden they need to get players through the door.
04:25They've known that for a long time, Everton,
04:26and they'll be fairly relaxed, I would say, at the minute.
04:31The situation, there's no need to panic.
04:33They're not even back for pre-season yet.
04:36So a lot of clubs aren't back for pre-season yet.
04:39So I think there's absolutely no need to panic as things stand.
