00:00Everton's season may have had its challenges, but several key players have emerged with real credit.
00:10Central to Everton's solidity has been Jared Brantwaite, who was assured defending,
00:15and calmness beyond his years made him a standout at the back.
00:19Alongside him, James Tarkovsky's experience has been invaluable,
00:23especially in high-pressure games where leadership has been vital.
00:27Jordan Pickford once again showed his class between the sticks,
00:32pulling off crucial saves and providing the kind of vocal presence that kept high standards throughout the season.
00:40In midfield, Abdelayda Khouré's drive and box-to-box energy had often made the difference,
00:45with Adrista Garnagay offering a steady hand in breaking up play and keeping Everton competitive.
00:51Moyes has brought a measure of stability and structure back to Goodison Park,
00:57with a solid spine and a few promising young talents in the mix.
01:02Let's hope that Everton can kick on next season if they get recruitment right.
01:07There's plenty to work on, but the foundation laid this year have provided reasons for cautious optimism.
01:13We spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World to spotlight the standout performers who helped steer the club through a turbulent campaign under David Moyes.
01:23And just on Everton and the player of the season,
01:29now across the campaign there's been a fair few standouts.
01:31There's been some defensive solidity as well since David Moyes,
01:35those first few games that he came in.
01:38In terms of the changes under Moyes,
01:41I know obviously it's difficult with a managerial change halfway through the season,
01:44but has there been players who've maybe stood out through both spells under Deitch and then Moyes as well?
01:51Or maybe it's a player who's come alive under David Moyes since he came in.
01:55Who stands out in terms of Everton's possible Player of the Season award?
02:00I think you've got three.
02:01I think you've got John Pickford, who's won it for the last three years.
02:04Again, he's been exceptional between the posts.
02:08He's proven why he's England number one.
02:10He's just a pillar of solidity, someone you can rely on week in, week out.
02:19Adrissa Garnagay in the middle, to be discussed before.
02:22Unbelievable.
02:24Having his best season since he returned to Everton, without a doubt.
02:27And Illumina Dias has enjoyed a really good campaign.
02:30He's had a little bit of a dip of late, had to come back from injury.
02:34But that's probably maybe he's just come back a little bit too quickly.
02:38But he has been sensational for Everton.
02:43On the left wing, he's been electric.
02:46He's a player who gets Everton forward, can beat defenders, can score goals.
02:50The only thing he maybe has to do now is add a few assists to his game.
02:53Because I don't think he's got one since he arrived at Everton.
02:56So that's something he needs to work on.
03:00You're looking at those three.
03:02Gerard Bramfwaite missed the start of the season.
03:04And then took a little bit of time to get up to speed.
03:08He's been superb for the last few months.
03:10But maybe that just rules him out of the question.
03:14James Tarkowski was carrying an injury in the first few months.
03:17And wasn't the standards that we all expect him to be.
03:22And since David Moyes arrived, Jake O'Brien's been excellent at right back.
03:28But yeah, the three you're probably looking at between Pickford's Gay and Indy, I'd say.
03:33If it was going to put me, I think Pickford might edge it again in terms of the play of the season.
03:39But Garner Gay has definitely given him a run for his money.
03:42And just on Pickford, how do you think he continues to actually produce these standards, these incredible shows?
03:49You know, obviously, it's been no secret that Everton have struggled around the relegation zone for the last few years.
03:55But he still maintains that incredible form.
03:57He's still always, you know, so, so consistent throughout the entire campaign.
04:02And then he takes that on to international duty as well.
04:06Yeah, I think he's just settled, to be honest with you.
04:09I think it's quite disgusted he's seen psychologists, et cetera, in the past.
04:14And I think he enjoys being at Everton.
04:17I think he's settled in his home life.
04:19He's just had another baby.
04:22Settles where he's living.
04:23Settles at the club.
04:24Knows the club.
04:25He's a big figure of the club.
04:27But what he gives both club and country is absolutely excellent.
04:31You know, the passion and the desire he shows to win.
04:35He's right up there in terms of Everton goalkeepers.
04:38Because I think many would agree only Neville Southall is better in terms of what they've done for a club.
