Rampur, UP – In a shocking incident, a groom was murdered just a day before his wedding, allegedly by his bride-to-be and her lover. The body of 35-year-old Nihal, a cook by profession, was recovered on Monday from a forested area in Ratanpura, Azimnagar.
Nihal had gone missing on June 14 after being lured out by men claiming to be relatives. Police investigation revealed that the murder was planned by Gulfasha, his fiancée, along with her lover Saddam, who was reportedly angry over her marriage.
An FIR for murder and kidnapping has been registered against Gulfasha, Saddam, Farman, and Anees. Saddam and Farman have been arrested, while Gulfasha and Anees are absconding.
ASP Atul Srivastava confirmed that Nihal was strangled and his body dumped in a cornfield. The police say Gulfasha and Saddam had been in a relationship for over a year.
