00:00And our top focus of this hour is on the big twist that has emerged in the Meghalaya murder case.
00:07Remember, there was a couple who was on honeymoon and the husband's body was discovered.
00:12Now, there's a big twist that is emerging.
00:14Sordid saga of wife Sonam Bevafa, sensational twist in the honeymoon murder case.
00:21Cops say wife Sonam got husband killed.
00:24Sonam's illicit affair, murder trigger.
00:26Cheating wife, hired killers and then happened the honeymoon murder.
00:31Sonam had adulterous ties with another man.
00:35Wife surrendered in UP's Ghazipur.
00:38So, that's the latest update that is coming in as far as the Meghalaya murder case is concerned.
00:43The big twist that has emerged is that wife Sonam was involved in the killing of the husband.
00:49In fact, she along with three others have been arrested.
00:53We are learning that wife Sonam had hired the killers.
00:56But another update that has come in now that there was an illicit affair also that triggered the murder.
01:06And we're now being joined by Davis Marak, who is the DIG Eastern Range.
01:11Sir, what is the latest update that is coming in?
01:14We're learning that there is an illicit affair angle and also hiring of the killers for the murder of the husband.
01:20Yes.
01:20During the investigation, we have come to know that there were some people from outside Meghalaya who were involved in the murder.
01:32So, based on this input and technical analysis, we had arrested the first accused person last night from Lalitpur in UP.
01:42And subsequently, two more accused were arrested from indoor early morning today.
01:48And after the arrest, the wife also surrendered in UP.
01:54And during the initial interrogation, it appears that the wife had probably given the contract for the killing of her husband.
02:04Apparently, she was having some illicit relationship with some other person.
02:10So, that was the motive behind this contract killing.
02:14Also, sir, how did the police exactly trace Sonam, the wife Sonam?
02:20And also, what lies next for her?
02:24See, the moment this case came to us, we had been investigating all angles, including murder.
02:33And we had basically relied on technical analysis of all the devices.
02:39And based on the technical analysis and technical investigation, we have been able to zero down to the location of these accused persons.
02:48And that is how we were able to nab them.
02:50As regards to the future, since they are still outside their state, we will be taking a transit remark.
02:57And we will be bringing them to Meghalaya for further investigation.
03:00And the investigation will continue as to whether there are any more accused persons involved in this case or not.
03:07Also, Mr. Madhuk, the question that arises is that how did Sonam manage to escape for so long, for so many days?
03:16See, this is unfortunately because the family members have been putting a lot of pressure on the police department.
03:25And probably they have been trying to hoodwink the investigation, compelling us to actually put in a lot of resources in Meghalaya, in the search operations in Meghalaya.
03:39And apparently she has the—how exactly they escaped, we are still yet to establish.
03:50But it appears that probably they had hired another vehicle, and from that vehicle they had escaped to U.P. and to Madhu Pradesh.
04:00So we are still investigating exactly how did they escape from Meghalaya, that we are investigating as of now.
04:08And I would also like to remind you that this information of the missing report came to us only after the recovery of the bike, which was almost after one day after the bike, which was found abundant.
04:25Then only we started the investigation. So there was some time for them to escape the state, even before the police came into—I mean, started searching for these people.
04:36DIG, Davis Maharak, thank you so much for joining us on India Today and for all those details.
04:41Let's also take a look at how Sonam Raghuwanchi's parents have reacted to the developments.
04:45DIG, Davis Maharak, Thank you, for all those details because of the hope of their people, and not only the hope of their parents are there that the belief that they have found.
04:56Because the challenge is consequences of the hope of their families, which are the most powerful or good in the future,
05:01is to be justified, and to be akhmat, if you and at the time, you can't see why there will not be a miracle, all those people can see that.

05:36oh
06:06And my colleagues Amritanshi Joshi and Abramita are now joining us on the story.
06:11Amritanshi coming to you first, has the Indore police reached Gazipur from where Sonam has been found?
06:22No, by afternoon today Indore police will be reaching Gazipur and then they will be taking Sonam into custody
06:30because also the police of Shilong Mighale will also be taking Sonam to the place where Raja Raghubanshi was murdered
06:37because they have to recreate the scene because the body of Raja Raghubanshi was found in the gorge.
06:44And after that when Sonam was missing everyone was connecting the dots that whether Sonam was abducted by someone
06:52or they took Sonam somewhere else.
06:55But now because there is a twist in the case that Sonam Raghubanshi was allegedly involved in the murder of Raja Raghubanshi
07:03and apart from that two more people were involved, two more accused have been involved in this case of murder of Raja Raghubanshi.
07:11Also two accused have been arrested from Uttar Pradesh and one from Indore allegedly.
07:18Four people were involved in the murder of Raja Raghubanshi.
07:21And also apart from that because the family of Sonam was present in Shilong.
07:26They were constantly present in the search operation which was run by the police of Meghalaya in Shilong
07:34and they were there to find Sonam.
07:37They also had a conversation with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Shivrat Singh Chauhan, the union minister.
07:44And Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav urged for the CBI inquiry in this whole case
07:48because everyone was thinking that Sonam was missing from around 14 to 15 days
07:53and Raja was found murdered in the gorge.
07:55They were also connecting dots that Sonam was also abducted
07:59and there was a case of loot and murder.
08:02But when the dots were connected because Sonam was allegedly found in Ghazipur yesterday,
08:08she called someone, police got the information and they took Sonam into the custody.
08:13But because the DIG has confirmed that Sonam was having an illicit relationship with someone else
08:20and that person can also be involved in this murder.
08:25Maybe these dots were connected and also he has confirmed that this murder was done on this pre-planned trip.
08:35This trip was planned because they have planned the murder of Raja Raghubanshi
08:39and that is why they took him to a place which is like far away
08:43and because it's a tourist place, they thought that no one will connect the dots that Sonam has murdered
08:48because Sonam was missing and only the CCTV, last CCTV footages which we saw
08:53and also the last conversation which Sonam had with her mother-in-law
08:57which was like the police of Madhya Pradesh and also the police of this state
09:04was also coordinating each other.
09:07Also we have information that maybe Sonam was constantly telling all the information
09:12regarding her and Raja Raghubanshi also
09:16because there are more accused in this case.
09:21Now the dots will be connected and after Sonam will be interrogated.
09:24Only what is the real motive behind this murder will come.
09:28Yes, back to you.
09:28Alright, Amrita Anshri, do stay with us.
09:30We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
09:32But let us now understand how exactly was the wife Sonam traced.
09:36Now we'll tell you on June 9, that is today, Sonam reached a dhaba in Gazipur
09:41which is in Uttar Pradesh at around 4 a.m.
09:44So that is where she was found.
09:46Sonam made a video call to her brother while being in Gazipur
09:50and she told her brother that she was in Uttar Pradesh, Gazipur
09:54and her brother informed the Indore police.
09:57So it was the brother of Sonam who had informed the Indore police about her whereabouts
10:02and Indore police then alerted the Gazipur police that Sonam was in Gazipur.
10:07Then Sonam now in one-stop centre in Gazipur itself.
10:12And so remember, Sonam's brother was the one who informed the Indore police
10:16and Sonam didn't have any belongings or phone with her when she was in Gazipur.
10:21Indore police will be reaching Gazipur today.
10:23As per my colleague Indore police will be reaching by afternoon.
10:28But that is how Sonam was phrased when she was in Gazipur.
10:32My colleague Pramita is also with us with more on this.
10:35Pramita, this murder raises a lot of questions on the kind of law and order
10:40and how easy it was for her to murder her husband in Meghalia.
10:45So the place, Sonam and her husband, Raja Ragupanshi, had reached Meghalia on 22nd.
10:53After that, they travelled to Soura.
10:55So they were here happy for their honeymoon, but ultimately what turned out to be a horror,
10:59as we know it.
11:00So they were last seen in Maulakhyat village after having stayed in Nongriya,
11:04the double-decker bridge, the famous living root bridge.
11:07So once they reached Maulakhyat, they were nowhere to be seen.
11:10And their body was, this scooter that they had rented was found 15 kilometers away from Nongriya.
11:17So that raised a lot of questions.
11:19And the body of Raja Ragupanshi was recovered in a gorge.
11:24And that is quite infamous because it has two cliffs and people do not generally go there.
11:28It is quite difficult to trek as well.
11:30So, again, may I get your question again?
11:32It raises a lot of questions on the law and order and how convenient it was for the wife
11:41to get her husband murdered along with the help of other killers as well.
11:47So after a few days, a CCTV footage was recovered where we could see the scooter
11:53where Raja Ragupanshi and Sonam had rented.
11:56And behind them, if you see properly, there is a vehicle, a maroon vehicle, which had three tourists in them.
12:03And this was not told to us earlier.
12:06Later on, a local guide had told the police that three tourists were also seen with Radha Ragupanshi
12:13while Sonam was trailing behind.
12:16So what they are saying is that she may have conspired the murder along with the three tourists,
12:21along with the three accomplices who were there with her.
12:23Pramita, why did it take so long to trace Sonam Ragupanshi?
12:30It went on for the hunt, was on for days.
12:32And finally, she was the one who had to eventually surrender.
12:36In fact, she called her brother, after which she was traced.
12:41So the thing is that the research operation began, it was quite intensive.
12:45Even NDRF team had joined, including a team from West Jayantay Hills, a youth team,
12:50who was asked by one boy, one youth, who was asked by his own mother to go and help out the NDRF team
12:55to recover Sonam, to find if she is alive or dead, but to find her.
13:00So the team had been constantly searching.
13:03And eventually, it led to the finding of Sonam Ragupanshi in Ghazipur.
13:09And the investigation is still on by Meghala Police.
13:15Right.
13:16Pramita, thank you for those details.
13:18We're getting some more inputs on the story that we're tracking.
13:20So another big update coming in, Sonam's illicit lover, part of the murder plot.
13:35Sonam had an affair with a man named Raj Kushwaha.
13:39Raj Kushwaha was involved in the murder of Raja Ragupanshi.
13:44So that's a big update that is coming in.
13:46Another twist in the murder case of Raja Ragupanshi, who was murdered in Meghala during his honeymoon.
13:55Now we're learning that Sonam's illicit lover was part of the murder plot.
13:59In fact, Sonam had an affair with a man named Raj Kushwaha, who was involved in the murder of Raja Ragupanshi.
14:11That's a big update that's coming in.
14:13Twist after twist.
14:14First twist was that the wife herself was involved in the killing of her husband, Raja Ragupanshi.
14:21She had allegedly hired killers to kill her husband while they were on their honeymoon trip.
14:26But the latest update that is coming in is that there's an illicit love affair angle also.
14:33And Sonam's illicit lover was very much a part of the murder plot.
14:38And the name was Raj Kushwaha.
14:40He was involved in the murder of Raja Ragupanshi.
14:44My colleague Amritanshi Roshi is with us with more on this.
14:47Amritanshi, now this illicit love affair angle has also emerged.
14:52And we're learning that Sonam had an affair with a man named Raj Kushwaha, who was involved in the murder plot.
14:58Yes, this is the information which is coming in because this trip was planned after several months.
15:10They got married, specifically Raja Ragupanshi and Sonam Ragupanshi.
15:15And it has been said that Sonam was having an illicit affair with a person named Raj Kushwaha.
15:21And Raj Kushwaha could also be involved in the murder of Raja Ragupanshi.
15:26Because some of the connecting dots from the case when the police were searching for Sonam, when they got the CCTV footage, the last audio of Sonam, the call with the family members were also pointing out that Sonam, the shirt, white shirt of Sonam was found near the body of Raja Ragupanshi in the gorge.
15:47It was self-explaining that when the police were connecting dots because Sonam was missing, there was a manhunt in the area where they went.
15:56Because where the body of Raja Ragupanshi was found, that is not particularly a place where tourists used to go very oftenly.
16:04That is an area which is isolated very much and that is not the particular tourist place.
16:10But the body was found in the gorge.
16:11Now because Sonam called her brother at 4 a.m. at the night from Dhaba and she video called her brother and told that she is in Ghazipur, the brother of Sonam Ragupanshi informed the Indoor police and Indoor police informed Ghazipur police and they took Sonam into custody.
16:33Right now she is in the hospital, she is getting some medical treatments because she was not in the condition to give any statements right now but police will be interrogating her.
16:40So, Indoor police will be reaching Ghazipur today by afternoon but this is clearly explained and as the DIG also confirmed that this murder was pre-planned and the trip was also pre-planned.
16:53The trip was planned just because they had to murder Raja Ragupanshi and the accused Sonam and also her lover, her illicit relationship with Raj Kushwa, he could also be involved in the murder.
17:06But now because this was the motive, we can clearly see that Sonam was having an affair with another person named Raj Kushwa and they were having an affair.
17:16But who more people were involved because Sonam was involved, it has been confirmed because she was having an affair.
17:23Raj Kushwa was also allegedly involved in the murder because this trip was planned.
17:28And also the people, the guides there also confirmed that they had seen three more people with Sonam and Raja.
17:36Last time when they saw Sonam and Raja, they saw three more people who were with them.
17:41But after that, Sonam murdered Raja.
17:44Also the police confirmed that after one day, the missing report was filed in the police station.
17:53Maybe Sonam got time and all the accused got time to escape from that place and they escaped from there and they came to Uttar Pradesh maybe.
18:04But because one is absconding to have been arrested, Sonam is already in the custody of the Ghazipur police.
18:13Soon Indore police will be interrogating Sonam.
18:16Also the police of Meghala will be interrogating Sonam.
18:19But this is clearly what we see that Sonam was having an illicit relationship with someone.
18:25She planned this murder with her lover named Raj Kushwa and they murdered Raja Raghuvanshi during this honeymoon.
18:35They maybe thought that no one will doubt on them because the body was found in gorge.
18:39But how the murder happened because there was a weapon which was found near Raja Raghuvanshi's body and some family of Raja Raghuvanshi also alleged that gold rings and ornaments were also looted.
18:54The white shirt of Sonam was found, the raincoat of Sonam was found near the body of Raja Raghuvanshi.
19:00But there were no traces of Sonam because the police, because there was much pressure on the police also from the family of Sonam, from all the big political leaders.
19:11Sonam's brother was also in Shilong and Meghala there.
19:15He was with the police and constantly they were urging for the CBI inquiry and they were thinking that Sonam was abducted by someone.
19:23But now it is clear that she was having an affair.
19:26That's why she planned this trip and on the trip she planned this murder so that no one doubts her because she wanted to be with her lover.
19:34And that's why, but now the main motive, who more accused are involved and what will be further information coming in will make this picture more clearer.
19:45Yes, back to you.
19:45Absolutely, Amrita Anshi, thank you so much for getting us all those details.
19:48We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this big story that we're tracking of the Meghalaya murder mystery that has now been almost solved.
20:04And we're now getting some more breaking news.
20:07Goa Health Minister suspends senior doctor after which Goa Chief Minister Pramod Savant intervenes.
20:13Goa Minister's surprise visit to hospital sparks Rao.
20:17Goa Minister Rane sacked doctor over a complaint after which Goa Chief Minister intervened saying that no arbitrary suspension will occur on camera.
20:28Goa Mantri lost her school at the senior doctor and ordered his suspension.
20:33But the suspension was overturned by the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Savant.
20:38Goa Health Minister had ordered the suspension of the senior doctor on Saturday.
20:42And Chief Minister Pramod Savant intervened stating that no suspension will occur.
20:47Goa Congress also condemned the Health Minister calling for his sacking over his arrogance.
20:54So just a day after Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane lashed out at a senior doctor ordering his immediate suspension.
21:00Chief Minister Pramod Savant stepped in and said that there would be no suspension.
21:05When the Federation of All India Medical Association of our country is standing by Dr. Udresh, it is our duty, it is our moral duty to stand with Dr. Udresh.
21:21We all as Congress party will stand with him, we will stand with Dr. Fraternity.
21:28We demand the Chief Minister of Goa to put a section of 504 on Vishwajit Rane.
21:34Use of abusive language, which is 504 also for two years of imprisonment, that also has to be charged on him.
21:45And my colleague Vidya is now joining us on the story.
21:47Vidya, why did Chief Minister Pramod Savant override the decision taken by his own minister?
21:52Is it damage control or is there a discord?
21:54Well, there had been very rising issues that people of Goa as well as people of the Christian media had been raising with regards to the stern action that Vishwajit Rane had taken.
22:06In fact, you know, if you look at the wording of the statement put out by the Chief Minister's office, it says very clearly that he wants to assure the people of Goa that the CMO, the Chief Medical Officer who has been suspended,
22:19by Rane, his suspension management rebuild, so it's basically to assure that, you know, rule of law would be, you know, put in place.
22:27And of course, you know, the medical fraternity too had been raising its voice against the way, you know, Rane had, you know, taken the steps of going to the government facility and then, you know, shouting out for the CMO, making it a point to make sure that he was humiliated as well.
22:44You know, in front of everyone, every staff member, the CMO felt humiliated, you know, these are the issues that have been raised.
22:51And certainly that's one of the reasons probably why the Chief Minister had to intervene and he has now, you know, he said in his statement that he had a discussion with Rane as well and this entire repression has been revoked.
23:05Alright, Vidya, thank you so much for getting us all those details and for that context.
23:14Thank you so much.
23:44Thank you so much.
24:14So today marks the first anniversary of Modi 3.0.
24:44To commemorate the moment, the BJP has launched a massive nationwide outreach campaign.
24:49The focus of the campaign is on the mass mobilization at the local level with BJP leaders holding press conferences across the country.
24:59These will highlight the governance milestones that the BJP has achieved in this one year.
25:04In fact, the Modi 3.0 government has achieved in this one year of their third term and also the party's future agenda.
25:12Additionally, booklets summarizing the Modi government's key achievements will also be distributed.
25:17Now, in just the first year of Modi 3.0, several key policy decisions have already shaped the national discourse.
25:24Operation Sindhu, launching the aftermath of the 22 April Pehal Gam terror attack, reinforced India's stance on terror.
25:32The Vakf Amendment Act has also been enacted, aiming to bring greater transparency to Vakf property management.
25:39Now, looking ahead, Modi's third term is centered on transformative national agenda and goals.
25:46A top priority of the Modi government is to make India the world's third largest economy.
25:52Remember, it is the fourth largest economy in the world currently, but the aim is to make India the world's third largest economy.
25:59There is also a renewed push for the One Nation, One Election Bill, which aims to synchronize national as well as state elections.
26:07And another major thrust of the Modi government is on bolstering Atmanir Bharta in the defense sector with a focus on indigenous production and strategic self-reliance.
26:19So, 11 years of Modi government, but today marks the first anniversary of Modi 3.0, third consecutive term of the Modi government.
26:37All party delegations on Operation Sindhu have wrapped up their global outreach.
26:43They have sent across their message against terror and are all set to brief Prime Minister Modi about their discussions with the world leaders.
26:50The seven delegations rallied global support and held Pakistan accountable for state-sponsored terrorism.
26:56Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in Washington, D.C. asserted that Pakistan can't breed wipers and expect them to bite only its neighbors.
27:04Tharoor also said that India's response was solely against terror and delivered a clear message to the U.S.
27:12that Donald Trump had no role in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
27:17In Kuwait, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Ovesi addressed Pakistan leaders as stupid jokers.
27:23While in Denmark, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said Pakistan is rattled by the show of support towards India.
27:30And in Spain, DMK MP Kani Mori echoed the message of Operation Sindhu diplomacy, stating that unity in diversity is India's national language.
27:40This is not about India and Pakistan. This is about India and terrorism inflicted on India.
27:47So India will act against terror wherever it comes from. If it's coming from Pakistan, tough.
27:52They should deal with their own problems.
27:55And then they're going around, I understand, this delegation saying, oh, but we are also victims of terrorism.
28:00We have lost more lives of terrorism than India has and so on.
28:04The question we turn around and say is whose fault is that?
28:06As Hillary Clinton famously said 10 years ago, what did she say?
28:10You can't breed vipers in your backyard and expect it to bite only your neighbors.
28:15It's the old classic lesson of Dr. Frankenstein. You build a monster, it leaves your control.
28:20That's why they're now getting terrorist attacks by the Tehriq-e-Taliban Pakistan.
28:24But who created the Taliban from which the Tehriq-e-Taliban broke off?
28:27We all know the answer to that.
28:29So let Pakistan look inside itself. Let it do some serious interior reflection before it goes around pleading innocence.
28:37You wanted to know about the national language. I think the national language of India is unity and diversity.
28:47And that is the message this delegation brings to the world. And I think that is the most important thing.
28:55I think yesterday, the Pakistani army chief had gifted a photo to the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
29:04President of Pakistan was there. The Speaker of National Assembly was there.
29:09And these stupid jokers, they want to compete with India.
29:14They had given a photograph of a 2019 Chinese army drill claiming it's a victory over India.
29:23Now, this is what Pakistan indulges in. They cannot even give a proper photograph.
29:31So, you know, we were listening to school in school.
29:34What was the most important thing in school?
29:37That we were studying good for children's children.
29:40So, you need to be able to do it.
29:45You don't have to be able to do it.
29:47So, you just imagine that your own country's Prime Minister, President, Speaker of National Assembly is there.
29:59Your so-called Mr. Field Marshal is there.
30:02And the Field Marshal gives a photograph of a Pakistani Chinese drill of PHL-03 in 2019.
30:09So, this is what Pakistan indulges in.
30:13And that is why you must not, you know, whatever Pakistan is saying, don't even take it with a pinch of salt.
30:19So, as we were coming here, we saw some flags.
30:23And you all would know what those flags were.
30:25And I thought to myself, the IMF loan is coming handy.
30:29And I hope those who are giving them the IMF loans realize what it's being used for.
30:36So, just two minutes ago, I just walked outside to check, have they left?
30:42And I was told, yes, they're gone.
30:44And while we Indians continue to be where we are, resolutely, strongly, backing for our mother India.
30:53And my colleague Aishwarya Paliwal is now joining us with more details on this story.
30:57Aishwarya, at what time can we expect the delegation MPs to meet Prime Minister Modi to debrief him about the global outreach?
31:05Well, the time at the moment has not been set.
31:08But from what we are understanding, a complete debrief will be given.
31:11All these MPs from the feedback that they have gotten, what they have told all these nations,
31:15that is something in detail that will be informed to Prime Minister Modi.
31:19What will India be, the next step of India be?
31:21That is something that Prime Minister Modi will then be having a long conversation with all these MPs see.
31:26One thing which we need to understand, it's not just the BJP, most of the top leaders from the opposition,
31:31they were the ones who were either part of this team or were actually heading it,
31:36like in the case of Shashi Tharoor, who went to the United States of America.
31:39India is now making sure, and we have seen, one of the ADB loans has been given.
31:43One of the programs worth $800 billion has been given to Pakistan.
31:47India is now looking at the FHF.
31:49That's something which is very crucial.
31:50How to stop it, and the kind of feedback that India has got,
31:53that is also something that India very keenly is now looking at.
31:56What can be the ways in which that can be done?
31:59That will be the focus point.
32:01And India now, and especially the finance ministry,
32:04and the PMO will look at making sure that no further loans are given to Pakistan.
32:08Some big dollars have been given to the ADB and to the FHF,
32:11with regards to how the money that we are giving, supposedly for development,
32:15is actually being used to fund terrorism.
32:16All right, Aishwara, thank you for those details.
32:19We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
32:22Well, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was interviewed by his journalist son,
32:26Ishaan Tharoor, in a moment that stood out during India's Operation Sindhu diplomatic outreach.
32:31Take a look.
32:32Stand up.
32:34That shouldn't be allowed.
32:35This is my son.
32:38Ishaan Tharoor of the Washington Post.
32:41Definitely asking a question in personal capacity.
32:44And mostly to say hi before you go after your next engagement.
32:47Raise the mic.
32:48Mostly to say hi before you go after your next engagement.
32:52I'm curious, though.
32:54On this tour you've been on, various countries in the Western Hemisphere,
32:57have any of your government interlocutors asked you to show evidence
33:01of Pakistan's culpability in the initial attack?
33:04And what do you say to the repeated Pakistani denials of having any hand in the initial attack?
33:09Okay.
33:09Well, I'm very glad you raised this, Ishaan.
33:11I didn't plant it, I promise you.
33:13This guy does this to his dad.
33:15Very simply, no one had any doubt.
33:19And we were not asked for evidence.
33:21But media have asked.
33:23And so you are speaking for your tribe in that in two or three places media asked this question.
33:28Let me say very clearly that India would not have done this without convincing evidence.
33:33As the Modi 3.0 government marks one year in office today,
33:38India Today's Rajdeep Sardesai spoke exclusively with one of NDA's key allies,
33:42Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu.
33:45In a candid conversation, Chandra Babu Naidu spoke on a host of issues,
33:48including Operation Sindhuul, One Nation One Pole, delimitation and also the Vakf Act.
33:53He also heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
33:56calling him the right leader at the right time.
33:58Here are some excerpts from the big interview.
34:01A year ago, there were several question marks over whether this coalition government of the NDA,
34:13the Narendra Modi-led government, would last this time because it was a coalition government,
34:17whether Chandra Babu Naidu would fully support a Modi government at the centre.
34:22A year later, how do you see this NDA government?
34:25Is it fully stable and will complete its five years without any problem?
34:35Not only five years.
34:37It will continue forever.
34:40That is what I wanted to emphasize here.
34:43We are having clear agenda for the nation, for my state,
34:49and Indians to be globally number one.
34:52That is our agenda.
34:54We are working with Narendra Modi-ji and also NDA.
34:59You were once an opposition leader.
35:01You were seen to be critical of him.
35:02Today, you are praising the Prime Minister and his leadership.
35:05Has Mr. Modi changed or has Mr. Naidu changed?
35:10Or has India changed?
35:11No, there is a common purpose for all of us.
35:21You have to think positively and constrictively.
35:26Within 11 years' time, India is positioned globally.
35:36Can you imagine with any other leader?
35:40Second, India is very strong as of now, globally.
35:46And also, within the country also, India is very strong.
35:53All these things are happening because of one-man leadership.
35:58That is Narendra Modi-ji.
36:00Always a family, a state, or a village, or a company, or a nation.
36:08We need a good leader.
36:13Always that leader to get an opportunity, that is very, very important.
36:20Once there is a good leader, we have to protect and move forward.
36:25That is also very important.
36:27All of us should have a national agenda.
36:31Another idea, Mr. Chief Minister, the Modi government is backing is one nation, one election.
36:36Do you support this idea?
36:37Do you believe we must look at it?
36:39There should be a national debate on this?
36:44From the beginning, we are supporting, I am telling you.
36:47We are always progressive.
36:49One nation, one election, we will complete it.
36:53Then, remaining five years, we will focus on administration and empowering the people in all aspects.
37:00Otherwise, every day there is election.
37:03Every year there is election.
37:05We are working for the elections.
37:07Not mandated the people.
37:11People have given mandate for five years to do right things for them.
37:16Because of all these elections, by-elections, then automatically code of conduct, state cannot do anything.
37:26We are afraid of by-elections.
37:28We are afraid of some states, some elections.
37:32Total attention has been diverted.
37:34You have seen now, within one year, two elections have been conducted, Maharashtra and Delhi.
37:41Again, Bihar is coming.
37:43It is a continuous process.
37:45It is not good for the nation, according to me.
37:47Even simplification of elections also, timings also.
37:51Further, some more electoral reforms you have to bring.
37:54And now, shifting focus, the National Investigation Agency will probe the murder case of the former Bajranggal leader, Suhas Shetty.
38:04The probe was assigned to the agency by the Home Ministry.
38:08This, as the center suspects terror angle in the Hindu activist murder.
38:12Now, remember, Suhas was hacked to death by a group of assailants in Mengaluru on May 1st.
38:18The assailants used swords and machetes to kill him.
38:21Reports suggest that Suhas was killed in act of revenge for the murder of Mohamed Fazil.
38:27It is also learned that Fazil's brother conspired to eliminate Shetty and paid 5 lakh rupees for the sale.
38:32BJP, meanwhile, has hailed that the MHA's decision of handing over the probe to NIA.
38:38In fact, BJP MPJSV Surya claims that Suhas's murder was pre-planned and that the targeted killing has links to national, anti-national troops.
38:47Earlier, Karnataka speaker had given a clean shit to Fazil's family, saying that Fazil's kin aren't involved in Suhas's murder.
38:54Remember, 12, including Fazil's brother, Adil Mehroof, have been arrested in Suhas's Shetty murder case so far.
39:03Why not last month, Hindu karyakarta killed by the Muslim?
39:08I thought they are terrorists.
39:11Why? You are not taking any action.
39:15Now, some Muslim people were killed.
39:18You are going to police task force now, going to minister visiting.
39:25What is this?
39:26You are discriminating Hindu and Muslim.
39:30This government, Sidramaya, become Hindu virodi.
39:34And now shifting focus to United States.
39:39Los Angeles is witnessing widespread protests after U.S. immigration and customs enforcement agents carried out high-profile immigration raids across the city.
39:48The protests turned violent after U.S. president deployed around 2,000 National Guard troops to control the unrest.
39:54Protesters went on a rampage, setting vehicles on fire and blocking roads and highways.
39:58The Los Angeles Police Department responded with the rubber bullets.
40:04And the protesters went on a rampage, setting vehicles on fire and also blocking the roads.
40:09The U.S. president, meanwhile, has issued a stern warning to the protesters, stating that those attacking the peace of the country are a danger to society and will face serious consequences.
40:20We're going to be watching it very closely.
40:25And when they spit at people, you know, they spit.
40:30That's their new thing.
40:31They spit.
40:31And worse, you know what they throw at them, right?
40:34And when that happens, I have a little statement.
40:37They say, they spit, we hit.
40:41And I told them, nobody's going to spit on our police officers.
40:45Nobody's going to spit on our military.
40:47What we're seeing in L.A. is chaos caused by the administration.
40:53People should exercise their right to protest.
40:56That's their First Amendment right.
40:58But people should also exercise that right peacefully.
41:02We're working with officials.
41:04We're organizing resources.
41:06When you raid Home Depot and workplaces, when you tear parents and children apart,
41:11and when you run armored caravans through our streets, you cause fear and you cause panic.
41:18And deploying federalized troops is a dangerous escalation.
41:22But we need to be real about this.
41:24This is about another agenda.
41:27It's not about public safety.
41:28There's clearly no plan.
41:30And there is clearly no policy.
41:32Now, shifting focus, India is poised to make a historic return to space.
41:39After a gap of 41 years, Israel's Shubhanshu Shukla is all set to pilot the Axiom 4 mission to the International Space Station tomorrow.
41:47Back in his hometown, Shukla's family is praying for a successful mission,
41:51as it will make him the second Indian astronaut to fly into space since Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma's 1984 mission.
41:58He will also become the first Indian to visit the International Space Station during launch and docking.
42:04He will assist with the spacecraft operations.
42:07Shukla, along with three other astronauts, will lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida
42:11and are expected to dock with the ISS in approximately 28 hours.
42:16Together, the crew will conduct more than 60 scientific experiments over 14 days.
42:21This mission is a joint venture between Axiom Space, NASA, ISRO and the European Space Agency.
42:28From the Indian Space Research Organization, AX-4 pilot Shubhanshu Shukla.
42:35Namaste.
42:36I am Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla.
42:38A fighter pilot for 15 years, he was selected as one of four Indian astronauts in 2020.
42:45Captain Shukla, are you ready for the ride?
42:48Will you do some yoga in space like your idol Rakesh Sharma did in 1984?
42:54The first Indian astronaut, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, traveled to space in 1984.
43:01I grew up reading about him in textbooks and listening to his stories from space.
43:06I was deeply, deeply impressed by him.
43:08This journey that I'm on, it has been a long one for me and it started out somewhere.
43:17I didn't know that this is the path it is going to finally take.
43:20I would say that I have been extremely fortunate and extremely lucky to have gotten the opportunities
43:25to first fly all my life, which was a dream job for me, and then have the opportunity to apply
43:32to the astronaut corps, and now, consequently, be here.
43:40The way this worked out for me was that probably a week before we arrived at Axiom,
43:46was the time I came to know that I will be going.
43:48I was extremely excited to be here.
43:50I was very, very happy because this was a possibility for me to actually fly to space.
43:58You don't know how to respond to such things.
44:01Shooks his wisdom.
44:03The knowledge that he possesses, he could be 130 years old.
44:07For me, having him as my pilot in the Dragon capsule is great.
44:11He already has that operational savvy.
44:14You know, he's just wicked smart when it comes to spacecraft technologies.
44:18He is very focused, and he will basically go one, two, three, four in a record time.
44:24I don't even know how he gets there so fast.
44:27The team that I am flying with on this mission, it is fantastic.
44:31I do feel that, you know, I have exceptional crewmates.
44:34I will have these crew members for this one flight.
44:37But post this mission, these are going to be my friends for life.
44:41It has been an amazing journey.
44:43These are moments that really tell you that you are getting to be a part of something that is much larger than yourself.
44:49I can only say how extremely fortunate I am to be a part of this.
44:53It is my sincere endeavor through my mission to inspire an entire generation back home in the country.
44:59I want to use this opportunity to ignite curiosity among kids.
45:03Even if this story, my story, is able to change one life, it would be a huge success for me.
45:08I am Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, and I am the mission pilot for Axel 4 Mission.
45:13We are all about the achievement.
45:43With that, it's a wrap on this bulletin.
