A shocking case of contract killing has emerged from Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman, unhappy with her arranged marriage, plotted her husband's murder with her lover. Fearing she might get caught, she hired shooters for ₹2 lakh to eliminate her husband, Dilip Kumar (24), a hydra driver from Mainpuri.
As she was about to pay the remaining amount, police arrested her along with her lover and a shooter near Harpura turn in Sahar. Weapons, bikes, and other items were recovered from the accused.
The Murder Plot: ● Pragati, the wife, was forced into marriage with Dilip despite being in love with Anurag alias Bablu alias Manoj Yadav. ● Determined to be with her lover, she planned the murder for ₹2 lakh and paid ₹1 lakh in advance at the time of marriage. ● On March 19, shooters attacked Dilip near Palia while he was returning from Shah Nagar, shooting him in the head and leaving him critically injured. ● He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to injuries on March 21.
Police Investigation & Arrests: ● Acting on a tip-off about the money transaction, police arrested Pragati, Anurag, and shooter Ram Ji Nagar. ● SP Abhijit R. Shankar confirmed the arrests and stated that the main shooter is yet to be identified. ● Further arrests are expected soon.
