00:00Temperatures, let's do it.
00:01Rebs are up.
00:04Case down.
00:11Deegan muscled for it, couldn't quite make it happen.
00:15It's going to be Cochran again.
00:17Another good start of the Gas-Gas.
00:18Yeah, Casey, he might need to move out here.
00:20He loves this track.
00:21Look at this privateer, Lance Cobush takes the lead
00:24and salutes the fans.
00:26They've got a pileup here.
00:28Trying to figure out which one of the Yamaha riders that was,
00:30but Lance Cobush getting it done.
00:34And now Cochran looking to retake the lead.
00:38Trying to figure out, is that Thrasher?
00:39Who is that that's down?
00:40I cannot see the number.
00:42I think it might be the 41.
00:43Cochran.
00:45Oh, Cobush.
00:46It is Thrasher.
00:48Cochran at the lead.
00:49Cobush takes it right back.
00:51Yeah, he ain't giving it up.
00:52You've got to throw to number one sign up.
00:53You've got to hold on to it.
00:55Great to see him up here.
00:56But, yeah, Casey Cochran and Hayden actually went off on the track earlier
00:59as we were looking at Nate Thrasher down on the track.
01:02So he was able to recover.
01:03He stayed back in third.
01:04And if I'm Hayden Deegan, I want to try to get around these guys early
01:07because this race is going to be brutal.
01:09Oh, mistake from Deegan.
01:10Look at Mikkel Harrop there in third trying to get him.
01:14But Lance Cobush.
01:15And that is Seth Hamaker down.
01:20We've got chaos at the start of this moto.
01:23Yeah, it just seems to happen.
01:24When the heat comes, these guys are anxious that first lap.
01:27Bummer.
01:29Now, Cobush, always strong in the amateur ranks,
01:31has not quite been able to put it together as a pro.
01:34But you know these guys all have talent.
01:36We say it in the 250 class over and over.
01:38This guy is fast.
01:40And now he's got the opportunity to show the industry that that speed is still there.
01:44Can he lead this first lap?
01:46That would be exciting for the privateer.
01:47Yeah, absolutely.
01:48And he looks good at doing it.
01:50And I think for him, just confidence with all these guys.
01:53They're all so close.
01:54So for him being out here, you never know what this might turn into in the future.
01:57He's showing he belongs right now.
01:59Cochran doing the same thing.
02:01Here it is.
02:02Can he get a lap lead in the books?
02:03One turn left.
02:07Yeah, he's going to do it.
02:08Yeah.
02:11And then you hear Deegan, as always,
02:13ribbing the heck out of that Yamaha back there in third.
02:16But Cobush totally looks the part right now.
02:18Oh, he definitely does.
02:19Normally when you hear a bike just wide open, something's happening.
02:22But that's just the way Hayden rides.
02:23So he's just letting everybody know I'm still here.
02:26All right, happy to see this for Cobush.
02:28And now Deegan putting pressure on Cochran.
02:31Oh, I like that line from Hayden.
02:33He looked like he ran off the track, but nobody's been out there.
02:36So pretty good line.
02:37They smoothed some of this stuff out.
02:39So let's see if he can slingshot, then get around to that good.
02:42Assuming Casey probably's going to have to close that inside out.
02:45No, he's not.
02:47There it goes.
02:47Hayden Deegan.
02:47Yep, couldn't close it off.
02:49Deegan the second.
02:49Yeah, I don't think Casey realized that Hayden had that good of a run, and he came up short.
02:55So quick move by Deegan, and he's going to go after Lance as well.
03:00Lance Cobush putting it together.
03:01SPR is his team on that 195, and as I said, you go back about five years ago, this wouldn't have been a big surprise.
03:09He was one of the fast amateurs.
03:11Just not quite good enough to get that factory ride, but he's showing you don't need the factory equipment out here at Pro Motocross.
03:17No, and as you mentioned, Jason, he looks good at doing it.
03:20A lot of these guys come out here, privateers, they're overwhelmed, but, hey, everybody's overwhelmed when they got the number one Yamaha Bond revving the motorcycle wide open, but Lance is holding his own.
03:31Looks good.
03:32Yeah, Lightning Lance.
03:32We used to call him the jet fighter back in the day because he always had the dark limo tint goggles like someone in the Air Force.
03:40Doesn't run those anymore, but he still is darn fast.
03:44Deegan probably reading the back of the jersey.
03:46I mean, Deegan's battled everybody out here to add someone new to the board.
03:50Yeah, Lance better watch out next week.
03:52Deegan's going to have something for him.
03:53He keeps holding up these laps, but Lance is bringing his inner maverick out on the inside of him, see if he can do something with it.
03:59Oh, he's on the outside, though.
04:02Hey, you're going to really lead one lap?
04:04Let's get two.
04:05Yeah, why not?
04:06Let's just make it official, checker to checker, or finish to finish.
04:09Hold on to this thing.
04:10He was 22nd in the first moto.
04:12Might have the best ever example of what a difference a start makes in Pro Motocross.
04:17Yeah, and if you wonder why we talk about stars, Lance Cobush is the reason for it.
04:22So let's see if Hayden hits this same line now.
04:25He takes this outside.
04:26He just stays on the outside here.
04:28Nobody's been there.
04:29And Deegan, same move that Cobush gave when he got the whole shot.
04:34As you mentioned, he never misses the opportunity.
04:37Lance, you're going to get it as well.
04:38So really cool to see.
04:41Lance, let's see if he can get up the inside of him.
04:42Woo!
04:43Hey, he fought back.
04:44You don't mess with Cobush like that.
04:46And they salute each other over the jump.
04:47Cobush going for the lead.
04:50Great stuff right here.
04:53Spares up Deegan.
04:55Oh, I love this.
04:58Spectacular.
04:59This inside's been working.
05:01If Lance can get, maybe he can close down that inside because it is not working.
05:04There you go.
05:04Watch.
05:05You've got to be kidding me.
05:06He's right there.
05:07I think he's going to get it back.
05:10Crowd loves it.
05:11I love the fight.
05:12He's had more fight against Hayden than all year.
05:15I love this.
05:15I think so.
05:16The answer to who was willing to fight back against Deegan was Lance Cobush.
05:20Now Deegan finally starting to pull back away.
05:24I will say that normally when Deegan gives someone the business like that, the hand gestures,
05:28the lookbacks, that's normally a disrespect.
05:30Probably the opposite this time.
05:32Yeah, he probably was.
05:33And if Lance stays there, it's going to be disrespectful eventually.
05:35But yeah, I think Deegan's giving his props.
05:38So, really cool.
05:39But just like the first motor and last weekend, look at the gap Hayden's already to get, which
05:44is going to make it tough for Joe Shimoda if he's able to make his way because this is
05:47what's been costing him.
05:49Been fast, but he gets caught up and that gap's too big.
05:52The rest of the field.
05:53It's Cochran now going back to work on Cobush.
05:55I think things might start to happen in a hurry for the 195.
05:58Here's Cochran.
05:59No, Cobush not going to let it happen.
06:01Yeah, I mean, you can't let it happen.
06:03And you just fought toe-to-toe with Peyton Deegan, so I know you're not afraid, but good
06:07to see Levi up that close to the front here.
06:11And Drew Adams.
06:12Drew Adams finished 19th or 20th that first motor, so tough motor for him.
06:17Look at this battle here.
06:18Well, I can't barely even keep up.
06:20So it's Cochran, Kitchen, Cobush, Shimoda.
06:26Shimoda's on the outside here on the red 30.
06:30Yeah, things starting to happen fast for Lance right here.
06:35Let's send it to Haley.
06:36Missing from this moto is Chance Hymus.
06:39What are you hearing, Haley?
06:40Yes, we hate to see that.
06:41The doctors told him to sit this one out.
06:43What we know is that Chance told us, I had food poisoning earlier this week.
06:47Sunday and Monday, he was down for the count, so he's super low on electrolytes, just wasn't
06:52feeling it.
06:52He was really, really feeling under the weather here with this last one, under the elements,
06:57I should say.
06:58So low on electrolytes sitting this moto out.
07:00Yeah, as we watch Kitchen going to work on Cochran for second, Haley.
07:04Yeah, Hymus did tell us that.
07:05He said on Wednesday he was feeling better, but yeah, you probably don't know exactly how
07:09it's going to turn out until you go to the limit in a 30 plus two in the heat under
07:13race conditions that clearly got to him.
07:15Now we're watching Kitchen go to work.
07:18Yeah, and you wouldn't think that these guys would be going this hard, but since they shortened
07:21it five minutes to 25, just mentally, it just feels like a lot shorter for them.
07:25So they probably feel like they have opportunities now.
07:28And if you make these passes and get up in the second, maybe you can start relaxing.
07:32The race won't be as hard for you.
07:34So I love what I see with Levi.
07:36And again, nice outside move.
07:38One of the first people I've seen pass on the outside right there.
07:40So good move by Levi.
07:43Got a little confidence from that third place, that first moto.
07:45And here comes Joe Shimoda.
07:47Yeah, let's see if someone can break the Shimoda-Deegan one-two party.
07:50Maybe Kitchen or Cochran could be the ones to do it.
07:53And it's going to make the podium a big mix overall as well.
07:56Cochran could be in it depending on how this goes right now.
07:58And Kitchen is about five seconds off of Deegan at the moment.
08:08But still, Casey Cochran showing what he's made of.
08:11Two good starts and lots of speed today.
08:14No, absolutely.
08:14He can build off this because the fitness, it's going to come.
08:17He hasn't been racing all year long, but speed is something he can work with,
08:20and he's been showing that.
08:21So good start by Casey.
08:23It's a hot day.
08:24And Joe has been riding good all year long,
08:27so he's going to be hard to keep behind him.
08:29But Casey is going to fight him.
08:30Cochran coming back from a broken femur that cost him all a supercross.
08:35And he's getting back into race shape under fire from Shimoda.
08:38Feet off the pegs.
08:39Shimoda hangs tough, not able to make the pass.
08:42Yeah, from this angle, maybe that corner is a lot slipperier,
08:44but this is where I feel like Joe has to get a little bit better at.
08:47He's got to close that door off because now he's stuck behind Casey,
08:50and it's just going to be harder to get around and more time he loses.
08:53So it looks like from the angle he should have closed it off,
08:55but maybe it was a little bit different from his point of view.
09:00Looking for an opening at the top.
09:02Cochran's going to cover it.
09:04Shimoda goes back to work on the outside.
09:06Yeah, he should have him down here.
09:08Casey's going to try to lean into him, but he's going to realize Joe's there.
09:13Now, I want to know, when you're trying to pass someone in the hills like that,
09:15there's probably a speed that you feel comfortable.
09:17Is that when you go into that extra 2% or 3% trying to outbreak someone down the big hill?
09:22Yeah, absolutely.
09:23I mean, you just try to get beside him,
09:25and really what you want to do is either, one, get beside him
09:28or make that guy next to you think you're going to end up crashing,
09:31and he backs it off because you're out of control.
09:33So one or the other, when you want to make it,
09:36you just get long and the bike's wide open, kicking around,
09:40but nice move by Joe, and now he's going after Levi.
09:43So would Joe maybe hit that?
09:44That's not the speed he's probably going to hit that downhill every single lap.
09:47Do you try to uncork it a little more?
09:49Oh, yeah, he's 100%.
09:50He won't hit that downhill no faster.
09:52So, yeah, again, it's one of those things.
09:55You're playing a game of chicken, but, you know, the guy feels it by Onisadi.
09:59He knows when you're out of control as well.
10:01So Casey, realize, Joe, he was out of control, baby.
10:06Fight for another day.
10:06Cochran back to fourth.
10:07Now Shimoda versus Kitchen.
10:09In the second-place party that Shimoda has had to himself so far this year.
10:18Julian Beaumere has now made the move on Drew Adams.
10:21Still, shout-out to Drew.
10:22He's not had a good start so far this year.
10:25The rookie, best mode of performance we've seen out of him.
10:28Now back to sixth.
10:29Marchbank's seventh.
10:30Moseman, Haram, Jordan Smith, top ten.
10:35And sometimes people wonder.
10:36It's like when you see these guys come up and, like, Levi,
10:39he was able to make those passes.
10:40And it looked like he had the speed to chase Hayden.
10:43But then he gets in second.
10:44Then Joe starts catching him.
10:46It's hard when you don't have that tone.
10:48You heard Jet Lawrence in between motos.
10:49Like, just that little bit of gap where you can't see the guy in front of him.
10:52Deegan's just far enough where he can't see him.
10:55Then you start racing behind him.
10:56So Levi's probably riding the same as he was in the beginning,
11:00but kind of riding behind him because he doesn't have that rabbit to chase in front of him,
11:03which is allowing Joe to close up to him.
11:05So makes it tough when you're in that position.
11:10Yeah, no doubt.
11:10It wasn't long before Joe got right to him.
11:13And now the battle is on between Kitchen and Shimoda.
11:18Then you go a little further back.
11:20Cochran and Beaumair battling it out.
11:22And nice improvement for Beaumair in this moto.
11:24And he just shoots by for fourth.
11:27Yeah, Julian, I saw him coming up.
11:28And just like his teammates, the bike's probably working really good.
11:32And it's drawing out more.
11:33So I wonder where his actual other teammate, Tom Vial, looks like he's down in 15th place.
11:39Yeah, Vial had the bad gate pick because he didn't finish the first moto.
11:42Oh, and Joe goes by.
11:43Wow.
11:44Yeah, Joe made the pass.
11:45So just like the first three motos, Joe's up in that second place.
11:50But look at the gap.
11:51Almost seven seconds.
11:52It's going to be tough to hunt Hayden down with 13 minutes.
11:54Now, look, Kitchen, Riders at his level, they don't want to get past here.
12:00Is there still some positives, even if he just ends up podium today, even though Shimoda got him?
12:06Yeah, I mean, for different guys, I mean, I feel like this is Casey Cochran and maybe Julian.
12:10Then, yeah, it's a positive.
12:11But I think Levi really secretly wanted to try to win this championship.
12:17So, you know, yeah, it's still a good day compared to what happened last weekend.
12:22But at the end of the day, he wants to be fighting that number one, not, you know, get distanced third places.
12:28So even just with the bad round one, it doesn't matter.
12:30You got to come out here and show it because he definitely is considered to be at the top of this division.
12:35We're already halfway through.
12:36Shimoda a little shorter here, 25 minutes.
12:39Monster Energy available now.
12:42We'll remind you of that.
12:43We don't need to remind you how good Hayden Deegan is.
12:46And once again has that gap where he wants it.
12:48Did he just wheelie?
12:49Yes, he did.
12:50Down that hill?
12:51Yeah, no, he did.
12:52Picked that front end up.
12:53Actually, it's a lot smoother for him because he's not putting so much weight on there, which ain't beating his body up.
12:58So that was a nice move.
12:59But those are the things that the whips and all that, kid looks comfortable.
13:03And to me, the way he's riding, I think he wants to put a statement on these guys.
13:07Show I'm the toughest.
13:09You might see Hayden try to run away with this little beast mode, mini beast mode right here.
13:14It's been a perfect day for the Blue Crew, the Omaha boys so far.
13:18Deegan winning the first moto.
13:19Tomac winning 450 moto one.
13:21And Deegan crushing him again here at moto two.
13:25Send it down to Jason Thomas.
13:26What did you see down there, JT?
13:28Well, what I see is Hayden Deegan riding off in the distance right now.
13:31But just watching his mechanic, Brent Duffy, get the pit board in every single lap he came by.
13:36At the top, it would be Hayden's lap time.
13:38At the bottom, it would be the nearest competitor.
13:40This lap happened to be Joe.
13:41And every single time, Hayden just gives a little nod and keeps doing his thing.
13:45Like, it is maximum confidence.
13:47And he's pulling away systematically.
13:49He's pushed it from five, just as that graphic showed, from five to seven.
13:52And now we're pushing on eight.
13:54And this is what I wanted to see from Hayden.
13:56Flex your fitness.
13:58You're the fittest guy.
13:58This is the time, just like James said, where you make a statement.
14:01You show these guys exactly what you have underneath the hood.
14:06Yeah, he's got a big block under the hood right there.
14:08This kid's definitely riding and a little shaking.
14:12We heard his mechanic between motos.
14:13He's like, look, executed a plan.
14:15And I really do believe the plan was to actually see if he can throw a knockout punch for these guys.
14:21Because you come out here, just like we mentioned with Eli, sometimes these brace wins, they're bigger than that.
14:26You can tell by his...
14:28He's in experimental mode.
14:31It's like he's having fun out here.
14:32He's trying stuff.
14:33Yeah, no, he's really trying to send that message to them.
14:35I just wanted to stop talking so y'all can hear his motorcycle.
14:38But this is definitely a flex mode right here.
14:40All right, here's Deegan headed downhill.
14:45We asked him, even with the 1-1, what did he work on during the week?
14:53Yeah, I mean, I feel like I was pretty well-rounded at Fox.
14:56It was consistent.
14:57I let the race come to me.
14:58Two good starts.
15:00Obviously, you know, it can always be better.
15:02The starts, obviously, wasn't P1.
15:03So we went and worked on the starts quite a bit this week.
15:07First round, so you kind of, like, you don't really know exactly where your bike's going to be.
15:11So it was kind of a guessing game coming into the first round.
15:13And it was good.
15:14Bike was good, but we missed it a little.
15:15So this week we went back to work and did a couple things and it should be better.
15:22Yeah, no, it's really good to see.
15:24But to be honest with you, the way Hayden's riding, you can tell he's having a, you know,
15:29trying to make a purpose as we're watching March Banks and Moseman back here.
15:33Battling for these guys are in fifth and sixth.
15:37If Joe's able, even though he might not win this race, but if he doesn't allow Hayden to really run off,
15:41then I think it's actually a win for him because you can tell Hayden's trying to put the wood to him and break him.
15:46So if he can keep that gap, that'd be nice.
15:48But love to see these guys battle for fourth as quickly as Julian was able to get there.
15:55Look how much these guys are bunched up.
15:57Yeah, I said it was a better moto for Bomer who was eighth in the first moto, fourth right now.
16:01But he is under fire.
16:02Moseman on the move.
16:04He just marched past March Banks.
16:07Yeah, Garrett needed to get a better start because he's been riding good all year long.
16:10And, yeah, it slid out in that corner.
16:12Michael was able to get the drive and up the inside.
16:14So this is that time of the race in the beginning when all these guys are battling.
16:20Oh, I thought maybe Joe went down.
16:22When all these guys are battling, you forget that it's 100 degrees outside.
16:25Now when it gets closer, the clock starts getting there, things start stretching out.
16:29Julian's starting to realize, man, it's 100 degrees outside.
16:32It's hot.
16:32So we've got eight minutes left.
16:35And it could go any direction here.
16:37Shimoda, Kitchen, second and third.
16:39It's this battle here.
16:41Fourth.
16:42Bomer.
16:43Moseman, March Banks, Cochran, Smith, Adams, Haram.
16:46Top ten.
16:53And Moseman wants another pass at his home track here at Hangtown.
16:58Yeah, Michael looks strong in that first moto.
17:01Fitness looked good.
17:02He could tell by his body language that he's moving forward.
17:04If you look at him and Julian, Michael's in that attack position, you know,
17:08charging down these hills where Julian takes a look over.
17:11Pretty easy pass for him.
17:13Michael goes in a little high.
17:16Too hot.
17:17He went a little hot, but that's all right.
17:19Just what Joe was trying to do playing that game with Chicken.
17:22He just slammed in that berm.
17:23I don't think he thought that pass was going to be as easy.
17:25But still, as quickly as he got past, he's right back on him.
17:29But he has to deal with March Banks, who wants to get him back.
17:33Oh, not quite.
17:37Juju fighting back.
17:42And that is Bial in the bottom box trying to move up on Parker Ross.
17:46That is a fight for 12th.
17:48Bial had the last gate pick because he didn't finish the first moto, so he's on a march forward.
17:54This battle for fourth is crazy.
17:56Yeah, these guys, and we're about to find out if they're friends or not,
17:59because I can tell Michael's starting to get a little frustrated with Julian.
18:02He knows he's faster.
18:03So Julian keeps doing that.
18:05Oh, Michael's been known to throw a little wood out there, get a little aggressive, and he might happen.
18:11If you like the heat, I was lightheaded.
18:13I didn't know you were right there.
18:14I'm sorry.
18:15My bad, bro.
18:15I like all the tricks of the trade, the excuses.
18:18I've got to see you guys.
18:19Yay.
18:20No.
18:21As Bial continues to work on Ross in the bottom box.
18:25Another shot at it from Oseman.
18:26Yeah, Julian's really slowing him down, which is allowing Levi to kind of get away.
18:35But I feel like if Michael, once he clears him, pull that gap pretty quick.
18:40There you go.
18:41He almost had him cleared before.
18:42Then he blew the berm.
18:44Now he's going to make it happen again.
18:45Moseman to fourth.
18:47Yeah.
18:48Good ride in.
18:49They didn't lose too much time to Levi.
18:51Levi should have tried to make Hayward a sunshine,
18:54but he can't tell behind him what's going on.
19:00Oseman's fourth overall now.
19:01He's going to need some luck.
19:02Oh, he almost threw it away.
19:04He's going to need some luck to get to the podium.
19:05March Banks.
19:06Power move around the outside.
19:08Yeah, you can sense that.
19:10And Julian's starting to go backward, which is expected.
19:12It's tough.
19:13It's hot out here.
19:14Garrett's trying to catch that toe.
19:16Maybe stay with Michael.
19:17Maybe get his teammate, because they're starting to close in on Levi Kitchen already.
19:20All right.
19:23March Banks moving forward.
19:25Shout out Super Motocross playoffs.
19:27They are two full days of SMX fun.
19:30You want to be there when history gets made.
19:31It's Concord, North Carolina, St. Louis, Surrey, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
19:36Go to SuperMotocross.com.
19:38Yeah, the two-day format of press conferences you can go to, practice,
19:42and then racing the next day on Saturday.
19:45So, they are keeping the 47 and third of Kitchen in sight.
19:52We'll get back to that in a moment, but watch Vial.
19:54Point salvage mode right now.
19:57But credit to Parker Ross, new to this Bar X Toyota Redlands Yamaha team.
20:01He was a Honda rider.
20:03Picked up to this team for outdoors.
20:06Ross, who is a rookie, holding his own against Vial.
20:09Yeah, I was looking at Tom when he was landing off those jumps.
20:12It looked like something was going on with the bike,
20:14because he noticed that it's a very hard landing.
20:17So, that's kind of weird.
20:18It almost looks like he had a flat tire or something was going on with him.
20:21A little strange, especially for a rider so smooth like Tom.
20:26And Ross able to hold him off.
20:28Again, this is 12th and 13th.
20:30Max Boland just ahead.
20:34Sent it down to JT.
20:36Watching Tom Vial.
20:37He's been following Parker Ross around here for a few laps.
20:39And I'm just thinking about Sebastian Tortelli on our SMX International video pass,
20:43trying to explain to everyone in French who Parker Ross is right now.
20:48Because for Tom Vial, he's a two-time MX2 world champion,
20:52trying to pass a relative newcomer.
20:54And this has not been the day Tom Vial wants.
20:56But nonetheless, Parker Ross at his home race, really putting in a strong effort here.
21:00Yeah, Parker only turned pro after the Monster Energy National at Loretta Lynn's last August.
21:06So, he's relatively new to the game.
21:07Good point.
21:07He is a California native.
21:09So, he knows his way around Hangtown.
21:11And he is giving Vial all he can handle.
21:13Yeah, definitely.
21:15We're talking about point saving.
21:16This is championship season saving moment at this.
21:20And just tough.
21:22I mean, at this moment, I think all these guys are a little behind Hayden.
21:25And clearly, you've got to try to find any kind of positive going.
21:29And this ain't helping Tom's case at this moment.
21:32But it looks like Michael Moseman all over Levi for third place.
21:35That would be a great finish for him if he can get around him.
21:38I still don't think it would be enough for the overall podium.
21:42But a moto podium would get him up on that box.
21:44And the fans would be pumped on that.
21:45He is a home track native.
21:47JT.
21:48Yeah, this is his home race, Weege.
21:49And it should come as a shock that he's riding really well here.
21:53Let's flash back to 2022.
21:55This guy was out here trying to run around and get the race win.
21:57So, he's been through a lot, to say the least, since then.
22:01But this is a guy, when everything is on, he can run with the best of them.
22:04He's certainly proven that today.
22:06Oh, yeah.
22:07Speed has always been there for Moseman.
22:08He used to battle the Lawrence's in this class quite a bit at the sharp end of the field.
22:12It has been a long rebuild process.
22:15Multiple concussions and a broken neck.
22:17As for Vial, remember, he did not finish that first moto.
22:21Hayley, what have you heard about his condition, even though he's salvaging moto too?
22:24Well, here's what I heard, Weege, is that the team had noticed some swelling in his left
22:28arm, shoulder, and elbow area specifically, but that actually wasn't bothering him.
22:32It's actually his side.
22:33It's pretty scraped up, the left-hand side that is.
22:36So, but no injuries that we know of, so that's good to see him out here and trying to fight
22:41back after that moto one.
22:42That's relative at motocross, all the things she just listed.
22:46Yeah.
22:47That means he's not hurt, even though there's literally three different things that are hurt,
22:50but nothing's broken.
22:53He's digging deep.
22:53Yeah, and basically what she's doing, most mortals would be laid up for a couple weeks, you
22:59know, so for us, it ain't broken.
23:01As you mentioned, that's a nice pass by him.
23:04You know, if it ain't broke, you've got to get out there and rot.
23:06So, good for him, but definitely a tough day, especially coming off of last year, but we
23:11get that overall victory.
23:13Wanted a little bit more from that.
23:15That's right, he did win here last year.
23:19Deegan went down while leading.
23:22Deegan with a nearly 10-second gap over Shimoda, just like moto one.
23:27It's like Kitchen now holding Moseman at bay.
23:30Next on the list for Vial here is the 92 of Bowling.
23:33Yeah, you got a few guys right in front of him.
23:36Looks like George Smith, Drew Adams, Casey's right above that.
23:40So, these guys are going.
23:42Looks like Tom's starting to warm up now.
23:45A little sneaky line right there between all those ruts.
23:51And this is for 11th place.
23:54Mikkel Harrop up ahead on the triumph.
23:57Big improvement for him from last week in his debut.
24:00Racing in America running a solid top 10 right now, but Vial's looking for running room on Bowling.
24:08Yeah, and one thing with Tom that we don't really think about is that he missed that whole first moto,
24:13so the track's changed quite a bit between practice where all these other guys,
24:18they would make some changes after watching that first moto.
24:21So, Tom might be out here trying to suit up, maybe struggling with the bike.
24:24Maybe they missed the setup, and now he's starting to find his groove.
24:27So, definitely looking better than he did a few laps ago.
24:30So, yeah, got it done.
24:33But I was going to say by skipping the first moto, it is actually a little bit fresher.
24:37Didn't go out there in the heat for 30 minutes.
24:39Yeah, but, you know, at the same time, it puts him all the way on the outside of the gate.
24:43So, I would say there's probably more disadvantage.
24:46And when you're a guy like Tom Vial, I mean, yeah, no one might not be used to this heat,
24:51but at the end of the day, you know how to ride two 30-minute motos.
24:54So, I think it's more of a disadvantage as far as bike setup and just having the timing.
24:58And we know how these guys are.
25:00Start makes a world of difference.
25:01So, I would take the risk and just rather be tired to get a better start.
25:04As for Harrop here, doors open.
25:08Let's see if the Alhada line wasn't quite close enough.
25:12Now, Harrop races for Triumph over in Europe, but they have a rule over there.
25:16When you turn age 23, you cannot race to 250 class any longer.
25:19But they don't have a 450 ready to race yet.
25:22So, they just said you can be a test rider for the year.
25:25And then they put this idea together.
25:27Why don't you race in America for the summer?
25:29And he's riding well.
25:31Somebody's down.
25:32Yeah, it almost looks like, is that Moseman?
25:35Got in the Yamaha, I believe.
25:36Yeah, it looks like Yamaha.
25:37Could be a ride or a lap down.
25:38We'll see if the results board changes.
25:42It was.
25:44Ah, Moseman had a great day going.
25:46Oh, bummer.
25:48Bummer.
25:48I mean, yeah, he might not have been able to get a podium on the overall,
25:51but that would have been huge for him just confidence-wise.
25:54We might have a replay if you watch closely here.
25:57Bomer in fifth.
25:58So, they all move up.
26:01It's the first corner.
26:01He's going up to inside, top of the screen.
26:05Oh, yeah.
26:06Look, it's like he comes in and he hooks that berm,
26:09that sand that they have down there,
26:11and it just took that front end.
26:13Tough get off for Michael.
26:15Costly for sure to second moto.
26:16That same corner and jump that had a big crash a couple of years ago,
26:22and that's a shame to see.
26:24He had a great one going.
26:25Now, probably would have been fourth in the moto and fourth overall.
26:28It's going to move Marchbanks up to fourth in the moto and fourth overall.
26:33Now, Marchbanks have been quietly effective to start this season,
26:36because all the noise has been up front, literally and figuratively, with Danger Boy.
26:43Yeah, Hayden's doing exactly what he wanted to,
26:45but I do believe, as I mentioned, it's kind of a win for Joe to keep that gap
26:50because this lead could have ballooned big time,
26:54and I think just that confidence, what Hayden was doing by whipping it, looking back,
26:58Joe didn't allow him to get away,
27:00so at least Hayden knows that he's going to be strong at the end of the moto,
27:03it's just like how he has been in the past three.
27:05Happy to see.
27:09Two to go for Deegan.
27:10Remember, everybody, 450 Moto2, still yet to run.
27:14Can Eli Tomac do it?
27:15Can he get the overall win?
27:17The first one for him since 2022 and at the early stages of this championship.
27:22That would be huge.
27:25And that will be coming up after this one.
27:30Deegan into lap traffic.
27:32It's a lap and a half to go.
27:33Yeah, he's just taking a couple looks back, just making sure Joe's there
27:37and he's got this pretty in control if he just stays up.
27:43Now, I'm going to assume if you're Deegan, you're going to say,
27:45no, I was just managing it, and if you're Shimoda, you're going to say,
27:47I was keeping him honest.
27:49Yeah, well, both could be true.
27:51Okay.
27:51Both could be true, but I think Hayden, at some point,
27:55he realized Joe was going to be there, then you just start managing him,
27:58but there was a point in his race where he was really throwing this thing down
28:01because I think he wanted to send a message,
28:03but nonetheless, if he wins, it's going to pay the same,
28:06whether it's 30 seconds or one second.
28:08Oh, I see what you're saying.
28:09Yeah, we thought at one point he was going to try to really hammer these guys.
28:12I mean, that was his goal.
28:14I mean, he was taking a look back.
28:16You can see how aggressive he was,
28:17and he was more aggressive this moto than he was, I mean,
28:20so far in his championship.
28:22He was trying to send a message, but the message is still going to get sent.
28:27Might be two-day air at his time.
28:28It's okay.
28:29They're going to get it.
28:30Yeah, it's still going to say 4-0.
28:32Yeah.
28:32We're not going to start talking about the undefeated thing quite yet.
28:35It's only two races, but, man,
28:36he has probably over-delivered on the expectations so far,
28:41even though everyone knew how good he would be,
28:43but this has been hard to argue with.
28:47It's hard to be much better.
28:53You mentioned, I think we were talking about even Jett Lawrence this morning
28:57and qualifying, hey, you've got to start finding small goals to keep yourself going.
29:01So is Deegan shift into that mode?
29:03Are there little things as the white flag comes out he can do to keep himself
29:05Deegan every week?
29:07You know, most guys, when they're this dominant,
29:10yeah, you have to find those things,
29:12but for some reason I think it comes pretty easy to Hayden to find any kind of thing.
29:17I mean, just ask Lance, the beginning part of the moto.
29:20That's right.
29:21So Hayden saw that, and, you know, he's a student of the game,
29:24and I just feel like with him and like Jett,
29:28if you know you're going to win the race,
29:30the only way to stay focused is to have those goals.
29:32And I think with Hayden, this second moto, you know,
29:34I don't think it was a question whether he felt like he was going to win.
29:37He wanted to really send that message to these guys to know
29:39it's the hottest day so far this year,
29:43and I'm going to do exactly what I did at Hangtown,
29:46except for I'm going to do it even more dominant.
29:47So it just makes those guys, as the season goes on,
29:49they just don't feel like they have a chance,
29:51and I feel like Joe was able to stabilize that.
29:54So that was good to see.
29:55Yeah, perhaps one contender remains because Kitchen has had some bad luck already this year.
30:00Viala's had some bad luck.
30:01Hymas has had some bad luck.
30:03They've all had motos they did not finish.
30:06But Shimoda has been rock solid so far, but not able to crack this code.
30:11Yeah, and just like the previous three motos, once Joe get in second,
30:17I mean, that gap, it's not like it balloons a lot.
30:19It pretty much stabilizes.
30:21But Hayden has this ability, once he makes a pass and he gets in the lead,
30:24he puts in a heat or a half a lap or whatever it is and gains that four seconds,
30:29and he puts everybody else in a position where they're going to have to take the chance
30:33to try to outrun him, and that's going to be hard to do.
30:35Could be a lot of this coming this summer.
30:40Hayden digging in complete control on the final lap.
30:44All four motos so far this year.
30:46Danger Boy, well, it wasn't just the home track thing last week.
30:50We go five hours to the north outside of Sacramento,
30:52and he was just as good, if not better.
30:55Said bring on the heat, back that up as well.
30:59And there is no doubt something special is brewing.
31:02We're not going to talk undefeated yet,
31:04but what we can start teasing is a year from now,
31:07he'll probably be on a 450, and what is that going to look like?
31:11But for now, job one is winning on a 250.
31:14Hayden Deegan, 2-0 to start the 2025 season.
31:20Deegan wins Hangtown.
31:22Joe Shimoda, four straight second-place finishes to start the year.
31:28I believe Levi's going to cross the check flag in third.
31:31I believe Julian just got around Garrett for four,
31:33so nice ride by him.
31:35What a way to bounce back.
31:37Looks like it was coming unglued there for Bomair,
31:39but he digs deep.
31:40There he is on the 23, fourth place after eighth in Moto 1,
31:43so a nice bounce back.
31:45Marchbank's going to be fifth,
31:46and Jordan Smith, nice job on the triumph.
31:48You're welcome.
31:49We are back, Mike.
31:50Have a great day.
