00:00We're going to follow up Moto 1, here in Moto 2, let's go!
00:08Jeremy Martin on the outside! He's done it again! Another hole shot!
00:18Incredible!
00:19The only thing left to do here is listen to these fans.
00:34Shimoda putting on the attack from second. This is Storybook, James.
00:39Very Storybook. I was just being quiet because I wanted to hear these fans.
00:43They put some water down as well.
00:45Jay Martin knows that. As you can see, Joe Shimoda almost loses their front end and goes down.
00:50But for him, he looks a little bit more aggressive than he did that first Moto.
00:53Joe probably knows, look, I got to get going. Maybe put this away.
00:56But Jeremy Martin, let's listen to this.
00:58Tom Vial has gone down. That's the entrance to the Sandwoops.
01:06Tom Vial has gone down. That's the entrance to the Sandwoops.
01:18Yeah, we saw that going in that 450 Moto. It was getting some holes in there.
01:23You can tell, Tom, if you don't get a good start, you probably didn't see it.
01:27And there are some potholes in there, but...
01:29Tough break. Tough few weekends for Tom Vial.
01:32But Jeremy Martin, I can't believe, is out front again.
01:35So cool to see. Glad to see Tom up.
01:37See if he can lead the lap. Didn't do it in the first Moto.
01:41Hamaker going to route him. He's under attack from Shimoda.
01:44Small third. Hamaker, what a comeback.
01:47Is in fourth as they're crashing out of that first Moto.
01:50Deegan is eighth.
01:53Let's see if he can lead this one.
01:55Yeah, if he gets through this corner, he should have that.
01:57He knows. Go down the inside of his next corner, outside.
02:00He's got a good...
02:03Got the lap lead.
02:07Tenth different rider to lead a lap this year, but nothing feels sweeter than that one.
02:17That is a perfect tenth rider to lead.
02:20Now, by the way...
02:23Let's be honest, the guy's got a shot at the overall win today if he keeps riding well.
02:27Yeah, I was about to say, if it ends like this, he will be your overall winner on here.
02:31You talk about his storybook ending, and the way he looked at first Moto,
02:35it wasn't like he got dropped by those guys.
02:37I mean, he was still within, you know, a few seconds of the lead.
02:40He looked fresh.
02:41And you got to start wondering what a number one is and how he's feeling.
02:44But Jeremy Martin, what a ride.
02:48And he's been riding really good.
02:50So this isn't just luck.
02:52He has the pace and has been like that all day.
02:54And one thing that Jeremy's had, when he's been healthy, he is very strong.
02:58So as the track gets brutal, he gets better, and it's getting that way right now.
03:02So we'll see if the OJ mark shows up here.
03:05JT.
03:06All right, guys.
03:07Did you see the start that Jeremy Martin got there?
03:10Listen, he exited the gates about even, and then he took off like a rocket.
03:15I don't know if they've got nitrous on that thing.
03:18Maybe they gave it a little extra for his last race here.
03:20And, guys, by the way, if you don't hear from me in the second half of this race,
03:23I might head to the side here, grab a towel, and cheer Jeremy Martin on it.
03:26All right, we'll let you do it if you're on the other side of the fence.
03:28Crowd going crazy again.
03:30Yeah, and he was, JT.
03:33He did come out even with Hayden Deegan, and this is where riders, they won it.
03:37He won it.
03:38He got back.
03:39He leaned out, got on that back tire, and really just made that whole shot happen
03:42because he was very even with Hayden Deegan.
03:45Deegan, though, has moved up to fifth.
03:46You see him in the bottom box.
03:48Harrop hooked up his teammate Swole at the bottom of the hill.
03:51They came together, and Harrop able to make the move on the triumph rider.
03:56So now still two triumphs with different order.
03:59Harrop third, Swole fourth, then Deegan in fifth.
04:02You see in that bottom box, Vielle has retired from the race.
04:05He's headed back to the pit, and Shimoda attacking Martin again for the lead.
04:09Yeah, that's a very important part of the race for Joe.
04:13If he can get around J-Mart, maybe get a little bit.
04:15Oh, there it is, James.
04:16Will Jeremy fight him?
04:18Yeah, J-Mart ain't letting him have it that way.
04:20Joe should have closed that door off if you want, but I can understand why.
04:23It's a very high-speed section, and if you don't know,
04:26you don't want to tangle up right there.
04:27So, yeah, Jeremy's not letting this thing go.
04:30I'm sure he probably knows this is for overall, too, so you might as well go fight for it.
04:34And he is.
04:35Shimoda on the line to the inside.
04:37Can Martin close him off?
04:38He does.
04:39Yeah, now, Joe, if he can get this corner, he should have a better run than J-Mart.
04:43Maybe he can close up, but Jeremy greased that corner and was able to get around.
04:49But stay ahead of Joe Shimoda.
04:52I think the number six has a couple lines figured out on this track.
04:55He's got a few lines, yeah.
04:56You see that Yamaha dancing around on here.
05:01But Joe's a little bit quicker on this side of the section.
05:03We heard Jeremy that first moto.
05:05He's like, look, these young boys, they like to go down these hills fast.
05:08I like to go fast, but not that fast.
05:10And so maybe Joe Shimoda can charge down these hills, get a little bit better.
05:14He should have a better run coming up here.
05:18Jeremy greased that corner on the inside as well.
05:23And in his prime, when he was the rider to beat in this championship, it was the corners where he made his money.
05:28But here's one of those big hills.
05:31Yeah, Joe would have to go down really fast.
05:34He didn't get a good drive coming out of that.
05:36Jeremy was far ahead, so you can see Joe closing in on him.
05:39And he's been quicker here, but Jeremy has these insides.
05:42And unless he makes a mistake, it's going to be hard for Joe to go around the outside of him on this track.
05:48And why they battle Mikkel Harrop is getting into the picture from third.
05:56Solid fourth place that first moto, so you know he's riding with confidence.
06:03Another lap clicks off.
06:04Another one led by Jeremy Martin at his home race.
06:07Yeah, one ain't enough, two ain't enough.
06:09Let's lead three.
06:11Look at Harrop.
06:13Shimoda has got to solve this riddle of the number six or he's going to get zapped.
06:18Yeah, Joe's going to be in a tough spot because not only is Harrop Mikkel closing in,
06:23you're just letting Hayden stay around so Joe can get around Jeremy.
06:27I do feel like he could put Hayden in the spot if Hayden was able to come up with that injury.
06:32Probably just try to worry about getting second as Joe goes up the inside.
06:35Nice move.
06:37Got it this time.
06:39Little bit better in the entrance.
06:40Martin not able to seal it.
06:42He's going to try to run it around the outside.
06:44Shimoda to the lead.
06:47All right, let's see with Joe.
06:48He talked about that intensity being better in the early parts.
06:51It's showing he took him a few laps, but let's see if he can stretch that gap out
06:55and really try to distance himself between that, him, and the number one
06:59that's sitting in that fifth place right now.
07:02And the Dane Harrop, who's getting better every week
07:06as he adjusts to racing in America and triumphed over their second year in this championship.
07:11They're improving all the time and now he wants second.
07:15And I believe the way if he makes this pass, it would actually tie him for third overall with Jeremy.
07:22And he would end up getting it, which would be a little bit of a bummer for him.
07:25Jeremy Martin, but cool for McHale and that triumph team if they're somehow able to get this.
07:29And a nice story for Harrop.
07:34Contracted to race for triumph in Europe, but he cannot race the 250 class over there
07:39because they have a rule you have to be 23 years or under the age of 23.
07:44So he aged out of the class and they didn't have their 450 ready for him to race in Europe this year.
07:49So they said, you know what?
07:50Why don't you just come to America for the summer?
07:52And, man, is he impressed.
07:54JT.
07:55Oh, just watching Harrop here, think about these two guys battling.
07:59Jeremy Martin, who makes a mistake there, he's got the most laps you could possibly ever have on this track.
08:04And Mikkel Harrop has the least amount of laps you could ever have on this track.
08:07And here they are going toe-to-toe.
08:10I'm telling you guys, I think if Harrop makes a quick pass here, a win might be in the cards here.
08:14He is absolutely flying.
08:16And the pass could be happening now, JT.
08:19Yeah, and that's the same thing that he was dealing with where Joe Shimoto did the same thing.
08:25It's so fast right there.
08:27You're not sure if that guy on the outside is going to end up slingshot and kind of coming back into you.
08:31You don't want to collide, but let's see if he can make the same pass, Joe.
08:34He should be able to square this up and be on the inside.
08:36He has the momentum, so just watch for it.
08:39He's got to get a little bit closer, but Jeremy got through those rollers really good.
08:42And they're closing back in on Joe.
08:45Even though Joe sent the fastest lap of the race, they're still right there with him.
08:49Big battle right now with major implications for the overall podium today.
08:56Harrop, Martin, Shimoda.
09:05You can tell us all over him inside, outside, everywhere.
09:09Still though, Jeremy knows all the tricks.
09:14And it's able to hold the ball.
09:17And Deegan not catching this group.
09:19He's actually about a half second further behind Shimoda than he was.
09:25Yeah, no, I like him.
09:27Jeremy's got some really good lines around this track.
09:30But, I mean, this guy looks like a whole different rodder compared to you go back a few weeks.
09:35And that graphic that we showed, he continually getting better 11th to 6th and into 4th.
09:39Like, that's really how that progression has been making.
09:42And I agree with JT.
09:44Yeah, I think the wind could be there for him if he's able to get around.
09:48Because Joe Shimoda's not getting away from him.
09:53Oh, man, it is pedal to the metal up to that end of the track.
10:00Martin holding Harrop at bay.
10:02Deegan and Swole battling behind him, 4th and 5th.
10:06And it looks like Deegan has made the pass on Swole bottom buff.
10:13Yeah, Hayden makes his way up.
10:15He had a 159 forward, which is the fastest lap.
10:17And then it was Jared Martin second there, 3 tenths faster than Joe Shimoda.
10:22So, just like that first moto, things start happening and he gets passed.
10:26But because he's able to stay there, Jeremy, that is,
10:28it's giving him more confidence to be able to go back out here.
10:31And he's starting to race forward again instead of trying to hold on.
10:33So, good ride by him.
10:35Let's see if he can continue it, JT.
10:37Yeah, and James, you know, you talk about this quite a bit.
10:41So, I'll give credit to you.
10:42But, you know, Jeremy's experience on this racetrack
10:44is paying dividends right now with Mikkel Harrop
10:47because he knows where the threats are going to come from.
10:49He knows the passing zones.
10:51Some of these sections right here.
10:53There's no way he can make a pass or he can rest a little bit.
10:55He doesn't have to be on guard.
10:56The other sections where Harrop can't pass,
10:58Jay Martin knows those sections better than anybody.
11:01He's going to go flat out.
11:02So, every time you've seen Harrop try to get up and make a move,
11:05Jeremy has been ready for it.
11:07Yeah, and like you said, that's race craft.
11:09And every track has those lines.
11:11It's like, you know, a four-lane highway.
11:13When it opens up, that's your passing lanes.
11:15But there's a lot of parts where it's a single-lane road,
11:18and Jeremy knows where it's at.
11:20And he's just trying to beat the rider to that part so he can't do anything.
11:24But the good thing for Jeremy, he has a good pace, and he's not holding Mikkel up.
11:28He's actually pulling away from it and closing in on Joe at the same time.
11:32So, just experience.
11:33But every track has it.
11:35But this one right here, Jeremy knows it better than anyone else.
11:37And he's executing a perfect race so far.
11:40And, as you mentioned, matching pace with Shimoda.
11:44Joe has not been able to move out.
11:47It's 1.8.
11:48It was two seconds.
11:49Last little sector, Jeremy closed in a bit.
11:52Yeah, and there are certain parts of this racetrack I feel like with Jeremy, he's better.
11:58You know, these corners.
11:59Like, he's closing in on Joe right here at the bottom of Mount Martin.
12:02He's actually able to close in in the corners.
12:05Going down the hill, he's not as fast.
12:07He's not taking a chance.
12:08But he's figured out a way to make that gap.
12:11And just what he said in that first moto, he just knows where he's strong at.
12:14And Joe Shimoda goes off the racetrack.
12:16Oh, and there it is, Jeremy Martin back to the lead.
12:19And what is Joe?
12:20He's signaling something to his team.
12:22That was the mechanics area with a hand off the bars.
12:25Yeah, that was weird.
12:26Almost looks like he doesn't have brakes at the moment.
12:29Okay.
12:33Yeah, that's so weird.
12:33We'll see how he's entering his corners and stuff because, yeah, there's something definitely going on.
12:46Big shakeup here.
12:49Joe Shimoda, the race leader, off the track.
12:52We're not sure what happened.
12:53He was gesturing to his team.
12:54And Jeremy Martin has reclaimed the lead in what will be his last race.
13:00And now we see Hayden Deegan starting to lurk from fourth and closing.
13:04And something is definitely wrong with Shimoda's machine.
13:06He looked down in midair.
13:10Yeah, that's so weird.
13:11Let's see what's going on.
13:12This is ready for the mechanics area.
13:14Now he lands off this, goes to sit down.
13:17And, yeah, you see that right there.
13:18Like, almost like he went to go hit the brakes and it wasn't there.
13:21So I'm not really sure what he's pointing down at.
13:25But caught some mistake.
13:26And there's probably everybody in this paddock.
13:30And sorry, Joe, normally we would be happy for you.
13:33But I'm sure everybody's somewhat pulling for Jeremy Martin to get out here,
13:36which gives him the overall, again, if it hangs on this way.
13:40He ran like this.
13:41Yes, yes, Jeremy Martin would be the overall winner in his last race.
13:46It doesn't get much better than that.
13:48The hand of fate has maybe thrown a twist at Shimoda.
13:52And Jeremy Martin knows what to do with it.
13:54He's pouring it on.
13:55Yeah, he's pouring it on.
13:56He listened to the keys of the race.
13:58I said finish it off right.
14:00And he is.
14:02And he's starting to pull away from that third place.
14:04I think his biggest competition is going to be the number one, Hayden Deegan, as he's coming.
14:08JT?
14:09Well, James, I just got a chance to briefly talk.
14:12Did you see Joe Shimoda pumping the rear brake there?
14:15They think the same thing.
14:16They have limited information.
14:17Seems like it's a rear brake problem.
14:18You see him looking down more and more.
14:20And what can happen is that rear brake fluid can get too hot, can get air in it.
14:24It can start to go away, and he's trying to pump it up.
14:26But clearly, he's suffering an issue here.
14:28Now, JT, another person who's suffering an issue is Tom Vial, the number 16, here with the bike at Red Bull KTM.
14:34And it turns out that the handlebars are having an issue.
14:39The radiator has an issue.
14:40The bigger problem, though, is Tom hit the ground pretty hard.
14:43In talking with Ian Harris and the team principal, he had said that, the team manager, he had said that right now,
14:49Tom is a little out of source in his head.
14:51He did ride the bike back here himself.
14:53But they are definitely going to go check him out a little bit further.
14:55Thank you, Katie.
14:56Deegan making the move on Harrop, who's trying to deal with Shimoda, who's having his problems.
15:01And Jeremy Martin looking to pull away now.
15:03Yeah, and if you're wondering how can somebody ride without a rear brake, well, this is a perfect scenario for Joe.
15:09The way this racetrack is, there's not a lot of corners where you can come to a complete stop.
15:13And the slower ones, you're just going to have to use the front brake.
15:15So what you're going to start seeing is Joe's going to start shifting a bike a lot,
15:19use the gears to go up and down to slow that motorcycle down, run these outside, bank off these berms and stuff
15:25to try to slow that bike down.
15:27And luckily for him, this track is pretty open, but it's going to be costly.
15:31It's going to be hard to hold off the number one without a rear brake or the issue that Joe has.
15:37But he's doing a good job.
15:39Halfway through this moto.
15:41Reminder, Monster Energy available at Quick Trip.
15:45Now, if Deegan makes this pass, he will be in position to win the race overall.
15:49We have 1-2 scores.
15:51That would edge Martin, who would have a 3-1.
15:55Shimoda looks a little bit better here.
15:57I don't know if he's gone through some sections where he doesn't need a rear brake,
16:01or if he pumped it like JT was talking about and he got it back temporarily.
16:05But Joe's fighting.
16:07Yeah, no, Joe, he'll figure out how to ride it.
16:09And like I said, you can ride this racetrack as we're watching Seth Hamaker.
16:13Oh, Deegan's off track.
16:15And Hamaker rides off.
16:17And Deegan's off the track.
16:18Here comes Haram.
16:19Yeah, I mean, the best thing for Joe is to hopefully have Mikael come back up.
16:23But Joe still doesn't have a rear brake.
16:25You can tell in that corner right there, you know, how his entrance speed is a lot slower.
16:31And even going down Mount Martin, see, he's not able to charge into this section as well.
16:36And Hayden senses that and he knows that.
16:38But he can ride this racetrack without a rear brake.
16:40Just not going to be as strong entering the corners.
16:43And with that pass, Hayden Deegan now controls the overall win for the weekend.
16:48He'd have the 1-2.
16:50And that was best.
16:51Martin's 3-1.
16:53Not over yet.
16:54Here comes Haram.
16:58And Deegan riding with a sore leg.
17:00Tore the fascia on his thigh muscle after the crash last week at Redbud.
17:05Definitely affected him in Moto 1.
17:07He was still able to win it in a race that went down on the wire against Shimoda.
17:13Yeah, you're going to watch on certain parts of the track.
17:15You're going to see Joe.
17:16His entrance speed is going to be pretty slow compared to these other guys.
17:19And not that it's slow.
17:20He just won't be able to charge and have that instant stop.
17:23So he's got to make the decision right here how he's going to attack this corner.
17:27If he goes inside, he's got to slow down a lot.
17:29And I think that's where these guys are going to try to make the time up.
17:31But the silver lining to it, he's going to learn what road speed is.
17:35He's going to figure that part out because he's going to have to make this momentum up and make the time up somewhere.
17:40It's always positives out of every negative situation.
17:43Yeah, but the negative is the 500 foot downhill here without a rear brake.
17:49Yeah, you can see him.
17:50He's not charging down here.
17:51Now he'll start chipping the bike down and use those gears, but he's going to go outside.
17:56A lot of time lost.
17:58Is that because of the brake?
17:59That's all because of brake.
18:00That's all because of brake.
18:01Yeah, he's normally they're landing off that gassing it.
18:04And these guys are just losing.
18:05Joe's losing so much time going down the hill, but he has to run the outside.
18:09And very impressive to ride here.
18:11Oh, yeah.
18:12Without a rear brake, but he's struggling for sure.
18:14So Jalik Swole now goes around him as well.
18:17The Triumphs running in formation with Harrop and Swole.
18:21And that's going to be very costly to Shimoda, who was trying to dig up points on Deegan's second of the championship with Deegan the series leader.
18:32Jeremy Martin.
18:33Well, the overall right now would be Deegan's, but can he end his career with a individual moto win?
18:40He's in position to get it done.
18:42And that's Sam wash his house about 100 yards away.
18:53He's locked so many laps in this track.
18:55He's won here several times.
18:57Yeah, a little mistake right there.
18:59I mean, that's just the track going away and it's a lot drier.
19:02So wants to get on the gas, the bikes bouncing around.
19:04But man, he is riding really good.
19:06I love his lawns around here.
19:08Very good.
19:09Bouncing off these these burns where it needed to be.
19:12So Jeremy's figuring the only problem.
19:14He's got Hayden Deegan closing in and Hayden as much as he'd be happy for Jeremy.
19:18He don't want anybody to win.
19:19So I'm the only guy Deegan wouldn't be upset about losing to.
19:25It's not like he's worried about him in the championship or battling him in the future.
19:29Shout out, though, to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for putting Jeremy back on the bike for the swan song.
19:37And they're singing the right tunes right now.
19:44Now, Jeremy, this is like the guy who's first time ever winning a race.
19:48I think reality starting to set in right now.
19:50I mean, even just be able to get an overall podium is great.
19:54And if you look where Hayden Deegan is, he's actually pulling away from him this last lap.
19:59And if I'm Jeremy Martin, I'm trying to remember how Hayden finished that first moto.
20:04He wasn't that strong at the end because of that injury.
20:06But you know you're always going to have a fight with the number one.
20:10Yeah, you go back to what might have been.
20:12Shimoda looked to have Deegan covered at one point.
20:14Had Shimoda won that first moto in a close one, Martin would have the overall in control.
20:19It could have been a third for Deegan in moto one.
20:22Instead it was, or sorry, a second.
20:24Instead it was a first.
20:26And the first and second could outdo Martin's third and first.
20:33But still, to win the final moto of your career, Ricky Carmichael, he did it here at this track in 07 to win the final moto.
20:43But it is an exceedingly rare moment in sports to end it on top.
20:47And Jeremy Martin is trying to do it.
20:50Yeah, and I think for Jeremy, these next maybe two or three laps are so important
20:55because if he's able to keep this gap on Hayden, he's going to calm down right now.
21:00Reality is starting to settle in like, hey, I might have a chance to win this.
21:03But if he doesn't get that pressure, there will become a point where he's like,
21:06all right, I can finish this thing off.
21:08He'll relax.
21:09And I'm sure Hayden probably just take the overall and Jeremy will win this race.
21:13But it's all going to be up to these next three laps for him if he can keep that gap.
21:17Swole and Harrop James here battling for third and fourth behind Deegan.
21:24Swole's rough thought first moto didn't get the start.
21:27But on that podium last week, he has been so impressive returning from a ruptured Achilles.
21:33He's been fast in all four races.
21:36I'd say even better than last year.
21:38Yeah, I completely agree.
21:40And that's obviously the hard work Jaleet put in to get back from the injury,
21:45but also the hard work this team has been putting in all year long.
21:48And you're starting to see the Triumph Motorcycles.
21:50George Smith is running seventh right now.
21:52Both Austin Fortner's run 11th.
21:55It was his best qualifying and moto finish in that first one.
21:58So this whole team is starting to step up as they get in their brand-new racing team.
22:02And it's not surprising to see Jaleet riding probably the best he has in his career.
22:06Mikhail up here on the podium.
22:08And as you said, Jason, that first moto for Jaleet was rare, the way he's been riding since he's been back.
22:15So really cool to see how all these guys have success.
22:18And shout-out to Triumph again for that.
22:20Harap, really fun guy.
22:23Glad to have him here.
22:24We've told his story this summer.
22:26It was good to have him as part of the championship.
22:28And then Swole, he is as fun to hang out with as anyone on the track.
22:31He will say anything, he'll do anything.
22:33And it's refreshing that he's that loose even though he's racing at this level.
22:51Jeremy Martin continues to lead here at his home race and his final race.
22:56Can he win going out?
22:59It won't be the weekend overall, at least not now.
23:02But he will win the individual moto and he continues to pull away from Hayden Deegan.
23:06Now Shimoda and Kitchin, second and third of the championship.
23:11Shimoda struggling with the bike problem.
23:13As for Kitchin, not the day we expected he won the race last year.
23:19Yeah, you can see Joe, he lost his footing in that corner, almost like through it.
23:23Use that leg as an anchor to try to slow that bike down.
23:26And the hard part is not having a break.
23:28When you make a mistake in the middle part of the corner, you have to lean the bike up.
23:33You know, you can't just keep it down because otherwise you'll run off the racetrack, which he did that in the mechanics area with the lead.
23:39So Joe's struggling.
23:40But at the same time, it's very impressive for him to adapt to this and learn how to ride this motorcycle and still be running top five.
23:47Really impressive.
23:48But Levi should build it.
23:49He gets close to him.
23:50He'll be able to get past him going down this hill because Joe's really can't do anything with it.
23:55But Levi's not close enough at the moment, but you'll see him close up going down this hill.
24:01Here comes up Mount Martin and down 495 feet.
24:08Yeah, watch you leave.
24:09I end up on the rear of Joe, especially once you get to the bottom of this corner.
24:14Joe's really just hanging on.
24:15And there you go.
24:16Almost made the pass.
24:17Yeah, wasn't close enough.
24:18But you gotta think she just stays there.
24:21That pass is gonna happen eventually.
24:23Another opportunity is here.
24:24Joe's been having a hard time trying to get to the inside of this corner off this jump because he doesn't have a rear brake.
24:30Changed up his line, comes up a little bit short.
24:35And this is a rider who's adjusting on the fly.
24:37Joe, that is, because a couple laps ago he was not making that inside.
24:41So he's figuring out how to ride the motorcycle.
24:43And like I said, that is very impressive to do that.
24:48Here at this level.
24:49March Banks in seventh behind them.
24:51And then it's George Smith, Schwartz, and Ross, the teammates, 9th and 10th JT.
24:58Well, I'm with a special guest here, which Ken Rockson, we're so used to seeing you on the racetrack.
25:02You've had some fantastic rides here in the past.
25:04We're watching the guy that you can to watch here, Levi Kitchen.
25:07Tell us about your weekend and trying to help Levi kind of get back to form.
25:10Yeah, I'm honestly really just here as a friend of Levi's.
25:13You know, I observe what I can.
25:15I try and help where I can.
25:16But I'm also very mindful of not stepping on anybody's toes and let him do his thing.
25:19So we've had a really good time so far.
25:21The track here today seems really hard packed compared to some of the years of ripping it really deep.
25:26But yeah, I'm just here to help Levi.
25:28And obviously he needs a better star to be running up front.
25:32It's been his Achilles heels, so we'll try and work on that.
25:37But overall, it feels so great to be back at the races.
25:40And by the way, I also love what I'm seeing from J-Mart.
25:42It's just what a dreamy ride.
25:44And if he could finish it off that way, I mean, I'm really hoping and praying for him that that happens.
25:49Speaking of getting back to the races, what's the rest of your summer plans?
25:53And then we start thinking about the Super Motocross World Championship as well.
25:56Yeah.
25:57So ideally, I was thinking about coming back at Unadilla.
26:00But I haven't even been on a bike yet.
26:02And I'm going to start riding a turn track next week.
26:05Those races are Ironman and Unadilla.
26:07They are coming up pretty quick.
26:08So I don't know if I'll quite make it to one of the outdoors.
26:12But definitely game for Charlotte.
26:14We're excited to have you back.
26:15And good luck when we do see you.
26:19Rockson did two-time pro motocross.
26:22Ankle surgery ended his great run in Monster Energy.
26:26Supercross has sent it back to Katie Awkward.
26:28Yeah, Levi Kitchen's teammates at Hammaker, the number 56, came off the track after his first injury in Moto 1.
26:34Wasn't feeling good.
26:36His own personal call came back here in the pits.
26:39Has his mom by the side.
26:40The bike's still intact.
26:41But he's just not feeling up for it.
26:43They're definitely going to diagnose what's going on with him.
26:46Yeah, thanks.
26:47He had that big crash in the first Moto game to line up.
26:51His sport is brutal.
26:52But every once in a while has that sweet story like you've got up front with Jeremy Martin if he can hold on.
26:58And James, I don't think Deegan's going after him.
27:01Yeah, I mean, I think Hayden has been trying to go after him.
27:04But as I mentioned, Jeremy, his lap times are good.
27:09Um, man, he looks comfortable.
27:12Looks really comfortable.
27:18Jeremy Martin continues to lead.
27:20Clock ticking down.
27:21See if he can win his final race.
27:23So you don't think this is just Deegan said I got the overall.
27:36You think he was throwing it at him and couldn't close.
27:39Yeah, I really do.
27:41And when you look at Jeremy's lap time, his fastest lap time was a two minute point three.
27:45He just ran a two minute point eight.
27:47So he's he's not dropping off the pace.
27:50And there was a moment in this race where, you know, a few laps ago, you could start seeing Jeremy making some mistakes.
27:56But this gap is starting to stay the same.
27:59And now it's starting to open up.
28:00And yeah, Hayden at this point, he knows he's going to make points on Joe Shimoda.
28:04But just like that 450 class is more about what Jeremy's doing as dictating this.
28:09And then Hayden decides to move from that point.
28:11But this is right by the number six, JT.
28:13I agree with you.
28:15I think, you know, you saw Jeremy look over there trying to mark Hayden Deegan.
28:19It's up to five point eight seconds.
28:21And that what that tells me is Hayden has relented and J-Mart is feeling the confidence from that.
28:26And if you're wondering if they're actually still pushing, I mean, they put 15 seconds in the horror.
28:30So the pace is still there.
28:32Yeah.
28:33And Hayden Deegan, this last lap time and this last one was a two oh four.
28:37But before that, he's been within the second of his fastest lap time.
28:40So they have been pushing it.
28:42But Jeremy Martin has gotten confidence.
28:44And as I said at the earlier race, when this guy was on form, when the track got rough and it got brutal, you see all these other guys going out, guys making mistakes.
28:52This is where Jeremy Martin shows up.
28:54And that's why he was able to win those two titles.
28:56So dominant in the 250 class years ago.
28:59This is a sign of that.
29:02And I'm sure it's going to be hard for him to walk away after this.
29:05James, he raced the first two rounds of this championship.
29:09He was barely even able to get to the top 20.
29:12What is the difference?
29:14Is this all home track, mojo, adrenaline?
29:17Yeah, I mean, you could say a little bit of home track.
29:20I mean, we'd say the same thing at Southwick when guys get the fastest lap time from being the first practice, you know, the beat practice.
29:26So you could say a little bit of that.
29:27But he still has to go out and execute.
29:29This track is different than it probably is, you know, any time else he's raced here.
29:34I think what it is is that he understands that everything is coming to the end.
29:38And he's out here riding free.
29:40I actually really never seen Jeremy so smooth and so fluent on the motorcycle.
29:45Normally, he's really charging and going very fast, but almost like he's overriding the bike.
29:50And to me, I've only seen that happen a couple of times.
29:53I think he's in a point of his life.
29:55He knows it's ending.
29:56There's no pressure.
29:57He realized what a great opportunity he has on star racing Yamaha.
30:00He's got the start.
30:01And at the end of the day, this guy is still really good on the motorcycle.
30:06And you're really starting to see it right now.
30:08What we're seeing is confidence and he's only getting better as he's laps going.
30:12And yeah, so you can say the home track, the home track just made him more motivated to come out here.
30:17But this is Jeremy Martin doing what Jeremy Martin did when he was winning this title.
30:21This is all him.
30:22Well, the home track thing is a technical.
30:24He knows the soil or whatever.
30:26But what about this crowd, the vibe, the adrenaline, the emotion?
30:30How much of a factor is that?
30:32All of it.
30:33That's it.
30:34Yes, it really is.
30:35And I think the crowd and him getting his award before his, you know, before the race, the emotions.
30:42And like I said, really knowing that everything is coming to an end.
30:46So he's out here riding really free.
30:48And Jason, we've seen Jeremy ride for years and all this.
30:51I've never seen the guy ride so smooth and so just really in tune.
30:57And it's kind of sad to see at the end of this is the end of his career for sure.
31:02Oh, yeah.
31:03Don't get tempted, everybody.
31:04Jeremy Martin.
31:09He's only two laps away from an historic ending of his career.
31:16He's going to go out a winner.
31:18The overall will go to Deegan with a 1-2 compared to Martin's 3-1.
31:22But he's a lap and a half away from winning the last moto he ever lines up for.
31:33I mean, we've seen a lot of unexpected things happen in this sport.
31:37I don't, I mean, I don't think, I mean, I don't know if I can rank anything compared to this.
31:43That's how I'm having a hard time.
31:44Yeah.
31:45This is definitely came out of left field.
31:47We knew he, look, he would be good and all that.
31:50But like you said, the first race, I mean, he was 20th.
31:52He came in here ready to race, more prepared at that first race than he did here.
31:57And it was a struggle.
31:58But I just go back to, well, talent.
32:00He's always had a great team, but perspective, man.
32:04Hey, there's Big Al.
32:05Here's his brother, retired a few years ago, watching quite intently.
32:09Supposed to be working today to run the event, but time out for five more minutes here.
32:17Oh, he's feeling it.
32:18Yeah.
32:19Jeremy, you're going to look back and you're going to see no one because you dominated, son.
32:25It's the family's track.
32:27And Alex and soon Jeremy will start taking the reins from mom and dad to operate this facility.
32:34But for a moment, they're still focused on the racing.
32:38And that moment is the final lap of Jeremy Martin's career.
32:47And the whole team is cheering, not for their individual riders.
32:51They're cheering Jeremy Martin, who kicked off the run of what has become one of the most dominant runs in the history of this class.
32:58That started in 2014 when Jeremy Martin was winning races and the championship.
33:03This squad went from a team that was trying to get there to a team that suddenly was.
33:08And they have not turned that off since running through Hayden Deegan right now.
33:12But it started with this guy and he's going to end it the same way.
33:16Yeah, Jason.
33:17Well said.
33:18Well said.
33:19I don't know what more we can say.
33:22Yeah, I mean, I'm listening to this crowd and we just saw him on the gate.
33:27It looked like he was crying, you know, or just finished crying.
33:30And I've seen a lot of impressive rods and this is really impressive to do what he's doing with all the emotions.
33:37Yeah, a little bit, let you hear these crowd.
33:46Let the track crew be biased today and cheer him.
33:52Yeah, to deal with all the stuff, the emotions and everything to come on is super impressive.
33:59You can hear him going, but Hayden Deegan is doing what Hayden Deegan's done all year long.
34:04He's beating everybody else.
34:05Jeremy came out here and won this race.
34:08There's no ifs, ands, and buts.
34:09Hayden wanted to do it.
34:10There's Dad.
34:11Do it.
34:12All right.
34:13Dad's got to take time out on the run of the event now too.
34:15The track owner with Alex.
34:17They got him in the Outers Tower.
34:19And Jeremy looking to bring it home.
34:22Hayden Deegan's going to win the overall.
34:25No one's going to remember that part.
34:27And this podium today will bring him within one of the all-time mark in this class.
34:33He's going to be one short of Steve Lampston, who was the team manager when he was winning
34:38titles for this team.
34:41This is it.
34:42In so many ways.
34:44Jeremy Martin ends his career with a win.
34:48Yeah!
34:49Hayden Deegan the overall winner at Millville, 2025.
34:58But these people will never forget this.
35:01And neither will Jeremy Martin.
35:03Yeah, and I knew Hayden would be the first person to run up to him and congratulate.
35:08What a ride we just witnessed.
35:09So cool.
35:10Congratulations Jeremy and the whole Martin family.
35:12Congratulations guy.
35:13See you later.
