00:00Well, for Joe Shimoda, listen, you've gone 1-1-2 in your last three motos.
00:06You were in the fight in the first moto.
00:07You understand that Hayden Deegan is not 100%.
00:10There's another overall win in the cards here today, but you've got to show up,
00:14you've got to get a good start, and you've got to focus on those first few laps of intensity.
00:20Thanks, JT.
00:21And Michael Boatsman been rallying as of late top five in the last three motos,
00:26and overall top three last week at Redbud,
00:31and it has been a long time coming from a rider we thought was even headed toward retirement at one point.
00:35He has bounced back.
00:37It has been a great run for the number 93, the Northern California native,
00:41who has rebuilt himself here with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing.
00:47I'm Jason Wygant, James Stewart here to give the call.
00:49I'm Jason Thomas and Katie Osborne reporting trackside 30 minutes and two laps.
00:55There's going to be the race duration.
00:57Second 250 moto, 450 racers, Jet Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, Chase Sexton, Eli Tomac,
01:03and the boys will be up next.
01:05But right now we're going to settle the score in the 250s.
01:09Hayden Deegan looking to follow up moto one.
01:11Here in moto two.
01:13Let's go.
01:19Jeremy Martin on the outside.
01:21He's done it again.
01:22Another whole shot.
01:29Incredible.
01:38Only thing left to do here is listen to these fans.
01:45Shimoda putting on the attack from second.
01:47This is storybook, James.
01:49Very storybook.
01:50I was just being quiet because I wanted to hear these fans.
01:53They put some water down as well.
01:55Jay Martin knows that.
01:57You can see Joe Shimoda almost loses their front end and goes down.
02:00But for him, he looks a little bit more aggressive than he did that first moto.
02:04Joe probably knows, look, I've got to get going.
02:06Maybe put this away.
02:07But Jeremy Martin, let's listen to this.
02:09Tom Biel has gone down.
02:26That's the entrance to the sand whoops.
02:29Yeah, we saw that going in that 450 moto.
02:33It was getting some holes in there.
02:34You can tell Tom, if you don't get a good start, you probably didn't see it.
02:37And there are some potholes in there.
02:38But tough break.
02:40Tough few weekends for Tom Biel.
02:42But Jeremy Martin, I can't believe he's out front again.
02:45So cool to see.
02:46Glad to see Tom up.
02:47See if he can lead the lap.
02:50Didn't do it in the first moto.
02:52Hamaker going to route him.
02:53He's under attack from Shimoda.
02:55Small third.
02:56Hamaker, what a comeback.
02:58It's in fourth.
02:59As they're crashing out of that first moto.
03:01Deegan is eighth.
03:04Let's see if he can lead this one.
03:05Yeah, if he gets through this corner, he should have that.
03:07He knows.
03:08Go down the inside of his next corner.
03:10Outside, he's got a good.
03:13Got the lap lead.
03:1710th different rider to lead a lap this year.
03:25But nothing feels sweeter than that.
03:27Well, that is a perfect 10th rider to lead.
03:31Now, by the way, let's be honest, the guy's got a shot at the overall win today.
03:36He keeps riding well.
03:37Yeah, I was about to say, if it ends like this, he will be your overall winner.
03:41You're talking about a storybook ending.
03:43And the way he looked at first moto, it wasn't like he got dropped by those guys.
03:48I mean, he was still within a few seconds of the lead.
03:50He looked fresh.
03:52And you've got to start wondering what a number one is and how he's feeling.
03:55But Jeremy Martin, what a ride.
03:58And he's been riding really good.
04:00So this isn't just luck.
04:02He has the pace.
04:03And it's been like that all day.
04:04And one thing that Jeremy's had, when he's been healthy, he is very strong.
04:09So as the track gets brutal, he gets better.
04:11And it's getting that way right now.
04:13So we'll see if the old J-Mart shows up here.
04:16JT.
04:18All right, guys.
04:18Did you see the start that Jeremy Martin got there?
04:22Listen, he exited the gates about even.
04:24And then he took off like a rocket.
04:26I don't know if they've got nitrous on that thing.
04:29Maybe they gave it a little extra for his last race here.
04:31And, guys, by the way, if you don't hear from me in the second half of this race,
04:34I might head to the side here, grab a towel, and cheer Jeremy Martin on.
04:37We'll let you do it if you're on the other side of the fence.
04:39Crowd going crazy again.
04:41Yeah.
04:42And he was, JT.
04:44He did come out even with Hayden Deegan.
04:45And this is where riders, they want it.
04:47He won it.
04:49He got back.
04:49He leaned out.
04:50Got on that back tire and really just made that whole shot happen
04:53because he was very even with Hayden Deegan.
04:55Deegan, though, has moved up to fifth.
04:57You see him in the bottom box.
04:58Harrop hooked up his teammate Swole at the bottom of the hill.
05:02They came together, and Harrop able to make the move on the triumph rider.
05:06So now, still two triumphs, but different order.
05:09Harrop third.
05:10Swole fourth.
05:11Then Deegan in fifth.
05:12You see in that bottom box, VL has retired from the race.
05:15He's headed back to the pit.
05:17And Shimoda attacking Martin again for the lead.
05:20Yeah, it's a very important partner to race for Joe.
05:23If he can get around J-Mart, maybe get a little bit.
05:25Oh, there it is, James.
05:27Will Jeremy fight him?
05:28Yeah, J-Mart ain't letting him have it that way.
05:30Joe should have closed that door off if you want.
05:32But I can understand why.
05:34It's a very high-speed section.
05:35And if you don't know, you don't want to tangle up right there.
05:38So, yeah, Jeremy's not letting this thing go.
05:41I'm sure he probably knows this is for overall, too.
05:43So you might as well go fight for it.
05:44And he is.
05:45Shimoda with a line to the inside.
05:47Can Martin close him off?
05:48He does.
05:49Yeah, now, Joe, if he can get this corner, he should have a better run than J-Mart.
05:53Maybe he can close up.
05:54But Jeremy greased that corner and was able to get around.
06:00But stay ahead of Joe Shimoda.
06:03I think the number six has a couple lines figured out.
06:04Hey, he's got a track.
06:05He's got a few lines, yeah.
06:07You see that Yamaha dancing around on here.
06:11But Joe's a little bit quicker on this side of the section.
06:13We heard Jeremy that first moto.
06:16He's like, hey, look, these young boys, they like to go down these hills fast.
06:18I like to go fast, but not that fast.
06:21And so maybe Joe Shimoda can charge down these hills, get a little bit better.
06:25He should have a better run coming up here.
06:29Jeremy greased that corner on the inside as well.
06:33And in his prime, when he was the rider to beat in this championship,
06:36it was the corners where he made his money.
06:40But here's one of those big hills.
06:43Yeah, Joe would have to go down really fast.
06:45He didn't get a good drop coming out of that.
06:47Jeremy was a far ahead, so you can see Joe closing in on him.
06:50And he's been quicker here, but Jeremy has these insides.
06:53And unless he makes a mistake, it's going to be hard for Joe to go around the outside of him on this track.
07:00And why they battle.
07:01Mikkel Harrop is getting into the picture from third.
07:07Solid fourth place that first moto, so you know he's riding with confidence.
07:10Another lap clicks off.
07:15Another one led by Jeremy Martin at his home race.
07:18Yeah, one ain't enough.
07:19Two ain't enough.
07:19Let's lead three.
07:21Look at Harrop.
07:24Shimoda has got to solve this riddle of the number six, or he's going to get zapped.
07:28Yeah, Joe's going to be in a tough spot because not only is Harrop Mikkel closing in, you're just letting Hayden stay around.
07:36So Joe can get around Jeremy.
07:38I do feel like he could put Hayden in the spot if Hayden was able to come up with that injury.
07:43Probably just try to worry about getting second as Joe goes up the inside.
07:45Nice move.
07:47Got it this time.
07:48A little bit better in the entrance.
07:51Martin not able to seal it.
07:52He's going to try to run it around the outside.
07:55Shimoda to the lead.
07:57All right, let's see with Joe.
07:58He talked about that intensity being better in the early parts.
08:02It's showing.
08:02He took him a few laps, but let's see if he can stretch that gap out and really try to distance himself between that, him, and the number one that's sitting in that fifth place right now.
08:12And the Dane.
08:15Harrop is getting better every week as he adjusts to racing in America.
08:18And Triumph, but over their second year in this championship, they're improving all the time.
08:24And now he wants second.
08:26And I believe the way if he makes this pass, it would actually tie him for third overall with Jeremy.
08:33And he would end up getting it, which would be a little bit of a bummer for him.
08:36Jeremy Martin, but cool for Mikkel.
08:38And that Triumph team, they're somehow able to get this.
08:43And a nice story for Harrop.
08:45Contracted to race for Triumph in Europe.
08:48But he cannot race the 250 class over there because they have a rule you have to be 23 years or under the age of 23.
08:55So he aged out of the class.
08:57And they didn't have their 450 ready for him to race in Europe this year.
09:00So they said, you know what?
09:02Why don't you just come to America for the summer?
09:03And, man, is he impressed.
09:05JT.
09:05Watching Harrop here, think about these two guys battling.
09:10Jeremy Martin, who makes a mistake there.
09:11He's got the most laps you could possibly ever have on this track.
09:15And Mikkel Harrop has the least amount of laps you could ever have on this track.
09:18And here they are going toe-to-toe.
09:21I'm telling you guys, I think if Harrop makes a quick pass here, a win might be in the cards here.
09:24He is absolutely flying.
09:26And the pass could be happening now, JT.
09:30Yeah, and that's the same thing that he was dealing with where Joe Shimoto did the same thing.
09:36It's so fast right there.
09:37You're not sure if that guy on the outside is going to end up slingshot and kind of coming back into you.
09:41You don't want to collide.
09:42But let's see if he can make the same pass, Joe.
09:45He should.
09:45He'll square yourself and be on the inside.
09:47And he has the momentum.
09:48So just watch for it.
09:49He's got to get a little bit closer.
09:50But Jeremy got through those rollers really good.
09:53And they're closing back in on Joe.
09:55Even though Joe set the fastest lap of the race, they're still right there with him.
10:01Big battle right now with major implications for the overall podium today.
10:06Harrop, Martin, Shimoda.
10:15Mikkel is all over him.
10:17Inside, outside, everywhere.
10:19Still, though, Jeremy knows all the tricks.
10:25And he's able to hold them all.
10:28And Deegan not catching this group.
10:30He's actually about a half second further behind Shimoda than he was.
10:36Yeah, no, I like him.
10:37Jeremy's got some really good lines around this track.
10:40But, I mean, this guy looks like a whole different rider compared to you go back a few weeks.
10:45And that graphic that we showed, he continually getting better, 11th to 6th and into 4th.
10:50Like, that's really how that progression has been making.
10:53And I agree with JT.
10:55I think the wind could be there for him if he's able to get around.
10:58Because Joe Shimoda's not getting away from him.
11:00Oh, and it is pedal to the metal up to that end of the track.
11:11Martin holding Harrop at bay.
11:12Deegan and Swole battling behind him, 4th and 5th.
11:20And it looks like Deegan has made the pass on Swole, bottom box.
11:24Yeah, Hayden makes his way up.
11:25He had a 150-knock forward, which is the fastest lap.
11:28And then it was Jared Martin, 2nd there.
11:303-10s faster than Joe Shimoda.
11:32So, just like that first moto, things start happening and he gets passed.
11:36But because he's able to stay there, Jeremy, that is, it's giving him more confidence to be able to go back out here.
11:41And he's starting to race forward again instead of trying to hold on.
11:44So, good ride by him.
11:46Let's see if he can continue it, JT.
11:48Yeah, and James, you know, you talk about this quite a bit.
11:51So, I'll give credit to you.
11:52But, you know, Jeremy's experience on this racetrack is paying dividends right now with Mikkel Hart.
11:57Because he knows where the threats are going to come from.
12:00He knows the passing zones.
12:01Some of these sections, right here, there's no way he can make a passer.
12:05He can rest a little bit.
12:06He doesn't have to be on guard.
12:07The other sections where Hart can't pass, J. Martin knows those sections better than anybody.
12:11He's going to go flat out.
12:13So, every time you've seen Hart try to get up and make a move, Jeremy has been ready for it.
12:18Yeah, and like you said, that's racecraft.
12:20And every track has those lines.
12:22It's like, you know, a four-lane highway.
12:24When it opens up, that's your passing lanes.
12:26But there's a lot of parts where it's a single-lane road.
12:29And Jeremy knows where it's at.
12:30And he's just trying to beat the rider to that part so he can't do anything.
12:34But the good thing for Jeremy, he has a good pace.
12:37And he's not holding Mikkel up.
12:39He's actually pulling away from it and closing in on Joe at the same time.
12:42So, just experience.
12:44But every track has it.
12:45But this one right here, Jeremy knows it better than anyone else.
12:48And he's executing a perfect race so far.
12:51And, as you mentioned, matching pace with Shimoda.
12:55Joe has not been able to move out.
12:58It's 1.8.
12:59It was two seconds.
13:01Last little sector, Jeremy closed in a bit.
13:03Yeah, and there are certain parts of this racetrack.
13:05I feel like with Jeremy, he's better.
13:09You know, these corners.
13:10Like, he's closing in on Joe right here at the bottom of Mount Martin.
13:13He's actually able to close in in the corners.
13:16Going down the hill, he's not as fast.
13:18He's not taking a chance.
13:19But he's now figured out a way to make that gap.
13:21And just what he said in that first moto.
13:23He just knows where he's strong at.
13:25And Joe Shimoda goes off the racetrack.
13:26Oh, and there it is.
13:28Jeremy Martin back to the lead.
13:29And what is Joe?
13:31He's signaling something to his team.
13:33That was the mechanics area with a hand off the bars.
13:35Yeah, that was weird.
13:37Almost looks like he doesn't have brakes at the moment.
13:40Okay.
13:40Yeah, that's so weird.
13:44We'll see how he's entering his corners and stuff because, yeah, there's something definitely going on.
13:58Big shakeup here.
14:00Joe Shimoda, the race leader, off the track.
14:02We're not sure what happened.
14:03He was gesturing to his team.
14:05And Jeremy Martin has reclaimed the lead in what will be his last race.
14:10And now we see Hayden Deegan starting to lurk from fourth and closing.
14:15And something is definitely wrong with Shimoda's machine.
14:17He looked down in midair.
14:20Yeah, that's so weird.
14:22Let's see what's going on.
14:23This is right before the mechanics area.
14:24Now he lands off this, goes to sit down.
14:27And, yeah, you see that right there.
14:29Like, almost like he went to go hit the brakes and it wasn't there.
14:31So I'm not really sure what he's pointing down at.
14:35But cost a mistake.
14:37And there's probably everybody in this paddock.
14:40And sorry, Joe, normally we'd be happy for you.
14:43But I'm sure everybody's somewhat pulling for Jeremy Martin to get out here, which gives him the overall, again, if it hangs on this way.
14:51It ran like this.
14:52Yes, Jeremy Martin would be the overall winner in his last race.
14:56It doesn't get much better than that.
14:59The hand of fate has maybe thrown a twist at Shimoda.
15:02And Jeremy Martin knows what to do with it.
15:04He's pouring it on.
15:06Yeah, he's pouring it on.
15:07He listened to the keys of the race.
15:09I would say they finished it off right.
15:10Okay.
15:11And he is.
15:12And he's able to, he's starting to pull away from that third place.
15:15I think his biggest competition is going to be the number one Hayden Deegan as he's coming.
15:19JT.
15:20Well, James, I just got a chance to briefly talk.
15:23Did you see Joe Shimoda pumping the rear brake there?
15:26They think the same thing.
15:27They have limited information.
15:28It seems like it's a rear brake problem.
15:30You see him looking down more and more.
15:32What can happen is that rear brake fluid can get too hot.
15:35It can get air in it.
15:36It can start to go away.
15:37And he's trying to pump it up.
15:38But clearly he's suffering an issue here.
15:40Now, JT, another person who's suffering an issue is Tom Vial, the number 16, here with the bike at Red Bull KTM.
15:46And it turns out that the handlebars are having an issue.
15:50The radiator has an issue.
15:51The bigger problem, though, is Tom hit the ground pretty hard.
15:54In talking with Ian Harrison, the team principal, he had said that, the team manager, he had said that right now Tom is a little out of source in his head.
16:01He did ride the bike back here himself.
16:04But they are definitely going to go check him out a little bit further.
16:06Thank you, Katie.
16:07Deegan making the move on Harrop, who's trying to deal with Shimoda, who's having his problems.
16:12And Jeremy Martin looking to pull away now.
16:14Yeah, and if you're wondering how can somebody ride without a rear brake, well, this is a perfect scenario for Joe.
16:20The way this racetrack is, there's not a lot of corners where you can come to a complete stop.
16:24And the slower ones, you're just going to have to use the front brake.
16:26So what you're going to start seeing is Joe's going to start shifting a bike a lot.
16:30Use the gears to go up and down to slow that motorcycle down.
16:34Run these outside.
16:35Bank off these berms and stuff to try to slow that bike down.
16:39And luckily for him, this track is pretty open, but it's going to be costly.
16:42It's going to be hard to hold off the number one without a rear brake or the issue that Joe has.
16:47But he's doing a good job.
16:49Halfway through this moto.
16:51Reminder, Monster Energy available at Quick Trip.
16:54Now, if Deegan makes this pass, he will be in position to win the race overall.
16:59He'd have one-two scores.
17:01That would edge Martin, who would have a 3-1.
17:06Shimoda looks a little bit better here.
17:07I don't know if he's gone through some sections where he doesn't need a rear brake
17:10or if he pumped it like JT was talking about and he got it back temporarily.
17:15But Joe's fighting.
17:16Yeah, no, Joe, he'll figure out how to ride it.
17:20And like I said, you can ride this racetrack as we're watching Seth Hamaker.
17:24Oh, Deegan's off track.
17:26And Hamaker rides off.
17:28And Deegan's off the track.
17:29Here comes Harold.
17:30Yeah, I mean, the best thing for Joe is to hopefully have Mikael come back up.
17:34But Joe still doesn't have a rear brake.
17:35You can tell in that corner right there, you know, how his entrance speed is a lot slower.
17:41And even going down Mount Martin, see, he's not able to charge into this section.
17:46As well, and Hayden senses that and he knows that.
17:48But he can't ride this racetrack without a rear brake.
17:51Just not going to be as strong entering the corners.
17:54And with that pass, Hayden Deegan now controls the overall win for the weekend.
17:59He'd have the 1-2.
18:00And that went best.
18:01Martin's 3-1.
18:04Not over yet.
18:05Here comes Harrah.
18:08And Deegan riding with a sore leg.
18:11Tore the fascia on his thigh muscle after the crash last week at Redbud.
18:16Definitely affected him at Moda 1.
18:18He was still able to win it.
18:19And erased him down on the wire against Shimoda.
18:24Yeah, you're going to watch on certain parts of the track.
18:26You're going to see Joe.
18:27His entrance speed is going to be pretty slow compared to these other guys.
18:30And not that it's slow.
18:31He just won't be able to charge and have that instant stop.
18:33So he's got to make the decision right here how he's going to attack this corner.
18:38If he goes inside, he's got to slow down a lot.
18:39And I think that's where these guys are going to try to make the time up.
18:42But the silver lining to it, he's going to learn what road speed is.
18:45He's going to figure that part out because he's going to have to make this momentum up
18:49and make the time up somewhere.
18:51It's always positives out of every negative situation.
18:54Yeah, but the negative is the 500-foot downhill here without a rear brake.
19:00Yeah, you can see him.
19:01He's not charging down here.
19:02Now he'll start shifting the bike down and use those gears.
19:05But he's going to go outside.
19:07A lot of time lost.
19:09Is that because of the brake?
19:10That's all because of brake.
19:12Yeah, normally they're landing off that gas and get it.
19:15And these guys are just losing.
19:16Joe's losing so much time going down the hill.
19:18But he has to run to outside.
19:20And very impressive to ride here.
19:22Oh, yeah.
19:23Went out of rear brake, but he's struggling for sure.
19:25So Jalik Swole now goes around him as well.
19:28The Triumphs running in formation with Harrop and Swole.
19:33And that's going to be very costly to Shimoda,
19:35who is trying to dig up points on Deegan's second of the championship.
19:39With Deegan, the series leader.
19:43Jeremy Martin.
19:43Well, the overall right now would be Deegan's.
19:46But can he end his career with an individual moto win?
19:51He's in position to get it done.
20:00And that's Sam Wash.
20:01His house about 100 yards away.
20:04He's locked so many laps in this track.
20:06He's won here several times.
20:08Yeah, a little mistake right there.
20:10I mean, that's just the track going away.
20:12And it's a lot drier.
20:13So once again, on the gas, the bike's bouncing around.
20:15But, man, he is riding really good.
20:17I love his lines around here.
20:19Very good.
20:20Bouncing off these burns where it needed to be.
20:22So Jeremy's figuring the only problem, he's got Hayden Deegan closing in.
20:26And Hayden, as much as he'd be happy for Jeremy, he don't want anybody to win.
20:30So I'm the only guy Deegan wouldn't be upset about losing to.
20:36It's not like he's worried about him in the championship or battling him in the future.
20:40Shout out, though, to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for putting Jeremy back on the bike for the swan song.
20:49And they're singing the right tunes right now.
20:51Now, Jeremy, this is like the guy who's first time ever winning a race.
20:59I think reality's starting to set in right now.
21:01I mean, even just being able to get an overall podium is great.
21:05And if you look where Hayden Deegan is, he's actually pulling away from him this nice last lap.
21:10And if I'm Jeremy Martin, I'm trying to remember how Hayden finished that first moto.
21:15He wasn't that strong at the end because of that injury.
21:17But I know you're always going to have a fight with the number one.
21:20Yeah, you go back to what might have been.
21:22Shimoda looked to have Deegan covered at one point.
21:25Had Shimoda won that first moto in a close one, Martin would have the overall in control.
21:30It could have been a third for Deegan in moto one.
21:33Instead it was, or sorry, a second.
21:35Instead it was a first.
21:37And the first and second could outdo Martin's third and first.
21:43But still, to win the final moto of your career, Ricky Carmichael, he did it here at this track in 07 to win the final moto.
21:54But it is an exceedingly rare moment in sports to end it on top.
21:58And Jeremy Martin is trying to do it.
22:00Yeah, and I think for Jeremy, these next maybe two, three laps are so important because if he's able to keep this gap on Hayden, he's going to calm down.
22:10Right now, reality is starting to settle in.
22:12Like, hey, I might have a chance to win this.
22:14But if he doesn't get that pressure, there will be coming at a point where he's like, all right, I can finish this thing off.
22:18He'll relax.
22:19And I'm sure Hayden will probably just take the overall, and Jeremy will win this race.
22:23But it's all going to be up to these next three laps for him if he can keep that gap.
22:28Smoll and Harrop James here battling for third and fourth behind Deegan.
22:34Man, Smoll roughed up first moto, didn't get the start.
22:37But on that podium last week, he has been so impressive.
22:41Returning from a ruptured Achilles.
22:44He's been fast in all four races.
22:46He's, I'd say, even better than last year.
22:49Yeah, I completely agree.
22:51And that's obviously the hard work Jaleek put in to get back from the injury.
22:56But also the hard work this team has been putting in all year long.
22:59And you're starting to see the Triumph Motorcycles.
23:01George Smith is running seventh right now.
23:03Both Austin Fortner has run 11th.
23:06It was the best qualifying and moto finish of that first one.
23:08So this whole team is starting to step up as they get in their brand-new racing team.
23:13And it's not surprising to see Jaleek riding probably the best he has in his career.
23:17Mikhail up here on the podium.
23:19And as you said, Jason, that first moto for Jaleek was rare.
23:23The way he's been riding since he's been back.
23:26So really cool to see all these guys having success.
23:29And shout-out to Triumph again for that.
23:33Harrop, really fun guy.
23:34Glad to have him here.
23:35We've told his story this summer.
23:37Been good to have him as part of the championship.
23:39And then Smoll, he is as fun to hang out with as anyone on the track.
23:42He will say anything, he'll do anything.
23:44And it's refreshing that he's that loose, even though he's racing at this level.
24:02Jeremy Martin continues to lead here at his home race and his final race.
24:07Can he win going out?
24:10It won't be the weekend overall, at least not now.
24:12But he will win the individual moto.
24:14And he continues to pull away from Hayden Deegan.
24:17Now Shimoda and Kitchen, second and third of the championship.
24:22Shimoda struggling with the bike problem.
24:24As for Kitchen, not the day we expected.
24:27He won the race last year.
24:28Yeah, you can see Joe.
24:31He lost his footing in that corner, almost like through it.
24:34Used that leg as an anchor to try to slow that bike down.
24:37And the hard part is not having a break.
24:39When you make a mistake in the middle part of the corner, you have to lean the bike up.
24:44You know, you can't just keep it down because otherwise you'll run off the racetrack,
24:47which he did that in the mechanics area with the lead.
24:50So Joe's struggling, but at the same time, it's very impressive for him to adapt to this
24:54and learn how to ride this motorcycle and still be running top five.
24:58Really impressive.
24:59But Levi Shiboda, if he gets close to him, he'll be able to get past him going down this hill
25:03because Joe really can't do anything with it.
25:06But Levi's not close enough at the moment, but you'll see him close up going down this hill.
25:11Here it comes.
25:13Up Mount Martin and down 495 feet.
25:16Yeah, watch Levi end up on the rear of Joe, especially once you get to the bottom of this corner.
25:24Joe's really just hanging on, and there you go.
25:27Almost made the pass.
25:28Yeah, wasn't close enough, but you got to think she just stays there.
25:31That pass is going to happen eventually.
25:33Another opportunity is here.
25:35Joe's been having a hard time trying to get to the inside of this corner off this jump
25:39because he doesn't have a rear break.
25:42Changes up his line, comes up a little bit short.
25:43And this is a rider who's adjusting on the fly, Joe, that is,
25:49because a couple laps ago he was not making that inside.
25:51So he's figuring out how to ride the motorcycle.
25:54And like I said, that is very impressive to do that.
25:58Here at this level.
25:59Banks in the seventh behind them.
26:02And then it's George Smith, Schwartz, and Ross, the teammates, not the tenth JT.
26:07Well, I'm with a special guest here, which Ken Rockson, we're so used to seeing you on the racetrack.
26:13You've had some fantastic rides here in the past.
26:15We're watching the guy that you can to watch here, Levi Kitchen.
26:18Tell us about your weekend and trying to help Levi kind of get back to form.
26:21Yeah, I'm honestly really just here as a friend of Levi's.
26:24You know, I observe what I can.
26:26I try and help where I can.
26:27But I'm also very mindful of not stepping on anybody's toes and letting him do his thing.
26:30So we've had a really good time so far.
26:32The track here today seems really hard packed compared to some of the years of ripping it really deep.
26:37But, yeah, I'm just here to help Levi.
26:39And obviously he needs a better start to be running up front.
26:43It's been his Achilles heels.
26:45So we'll try and work on that.
26:48But overall, it feels so great to be back at the races.
26:51And by the way, I also love what I'm seeing from J-Mart.
26:53It's just what a dreamy ride.
26:55And if he could finish it off that way, I mean, I'm really hoping.
26:58And I'm praying for him that that happens.
27:01Speaking of getting back to the races, what's the rest of your summer plans?
27:04And then when you start thinking about the Superrotocross World Championship as well.
27:07Yeah, so ideally I was thinking about coming back at Unadilla.
27:10But I haven't even been on a bike yet.
27:12And I'm going to start riding a turn track next week.
27:15Those races are Ironman and Unadilla.
27:18They are coming up pretty quick.
27:19So I don't know if I'll quite make it to one of the outdoors.
27:22But definitely game for Charlotte.
27:24We're excited to have you back.
27:26And good luck when we do see you.
27:28Yeah, thanks.
27:30He had a big crash.
27:58In the first moto game to line up.
28:02This sport is brutal.
28:03But every once in a while has that sweet story like you've got up front with Jeremy Martin.
28:08If he can hold on.
28:09And James, I don't think Deegan's going after him.
28:12Yeah, I mean, I think Hayden has been trying to go after him.
28:14But as I mentioned, Jeremy, his lap times are good.
28:19I mean, he looks comfortable.
28:21I mean, he looks comfortable.
28:22I mean, he looks comfortable.
28:23He looks really comfortable.
28:24Jeremy Martin continues to lead.
28:30Continues to lead.
28:31Clock ticking down.
28:32See if he can win his final race.
28:33So, you don't think this is just Deegan saying, I got the overall.
28:46You think he was throwing it at him and couldn't close.
28:50Yeah, I really do.
28:52And when you look at Jeremy's lap time, his fastest lap time was a two-minute .3.
28:56He just ran a two-minute .8.
28:58What?
28:58So, he's not dropping off the pace.
29:01And there was a moment in this race where, you know, a few laps ago, you could start seeing Jeremy making some mistakes.
29:07But this gap is starting to stay the same.
29:10And now it's starting to open up.
29:11And, yeah, Hayden, at this point, he knows he's going to make points on Joe Shimoda.
29:15But just like that .450 class, it's more about what Jeremy's doing that's dictating this.
29:20And then Hayden decides to move from that point.
29:22But this is right by the number six, JT.
29:24I agree with you.
29:25I think, you know, you saw Jeremy look over there trying to mark Hayden Deegan.
29:29It's up to 5.8 seconds.
29:31And what that tells me is Hayden has relented.
29:34And J-Mart is feeling the confidence from that.
29:36And if you're wondering if they're actually still pushing, I mean, they put 15 seconds into Hara.
29:40So, the pace is still there.
29:43Yeah, and Hayden Deegan, this last lap time, and this last one was a .204.
29:47But before that, he's been within the second of his fastest lap time.
29:51So, they have been pushing it.
29:52But Jeremy Martin has gotten confidence.
29:55And as I said earlier in the race, when this guy was on form, when the track got rough and it got brutal,
30:00you see all these other guys going out, guys making mistakes.
30:03This is where Jeremy Martin shows up.
30:05And that's why he was able to win those two titles so dominant in the 250 class years ago.
30:10This is a sign of that.
30:12And I'm sure it's going to be hard for him to walk away after this.
30:16James, he raced the first two rounds of this championship.
30:20He was barely even able to get to the top 20.
30:23What is the difference?
30:24Is this all home track, mojo, adrenaline?
30:27Yeah, I mean, you could say a little bit of home track.
30:31I mean, we'd say the same thing at Southwick.
30:32When guys get the fastest lap time from being the first practice, you know, to beat practice.
30:37So, you could say a little bit of that.
30:38But he still has to go out and execute.
30:40This track is different than it probably is, you know, anytime else he's raced here.
30:45I think what it is is that he understands that everything is coming to the end.
30:49And he's out here riding free.
30:51I actually really never seen Jeremy so smooth and so fluent on the motorcycle.
30:55Normally, he's really charging and going very fast.
30:58But almost like he's overriding the bike.
31:01And to me, I've only seen that happen a couple times.
31:04I think he's in a point of his life.
31:06He knows it's ending.
31:07There's no pressure.
31:08He realized what a great opportunity he has on star racing Yamaha.
31:11He's got to start.
31:12And at the end of the day, this guy is still really good on the motorcycle.
31:17And you're really starting to see it.
31:18Right now, what we're seeing is confidence.
31:20And he's only getting better as he's laps going.
31:23And, yeah, so you could say the home track.
31:25The home track just made him more motivated to come out here.
31:28But this is Jeremy Martin doing what Jeremy Martin did when he was winning this title.
31:32This is all him.
31:33Well, the home track thing is a technical.
31:35He knows the soil or whatever.
31:37But what about this crowd?
31:38The vibe, the adrenaline, the emotion.
31:41And how much of a factor is that?
31:43All of it.
31:44That's it.
31:44Yes.
31:44It really is.
31:45And I think the crowd and him getting his award before the race, the emotions.
31:53And, like I said, really knowing that everything is coming to an end.
31:57So he's out here riding really free.
31:58And, Jason, we've seen Jeremy ride for years and all this.
32:03I've never seen a guy ride so smooth and so just really in tune.
32:08And it's kind of sad to see at the end of his career for sure.
32:13Oh, yeah.
32:14Don't get tempted, everybody.
32:15Jeremy Martin.
32:22He's only two laps away from an historic ending of his career.
32:27He's going to go out a winner.
32:30The overall will go to Deegan with a 1-2 compared to Martin's 3-1.
32:34But he's a lap and a half away from winning the last moto he ever lines up for.
32:38I mean, we've seen a lot of unexpected things happen in this sport.
32:48I don't think.
32:51I don't know if I can rank anything compared to this.
32:53That's how I'm having a hard time.
32:55This definitely came out of left field.
32:58We knew he would be good and all that.
33:00But, like you said, the first race, I mean, he was 20th.
33:03He came in here ready to race, more prepared at that first race than he did here.
33:07And it was a struggle.
33:08But I just go back to, well, talent.
33:11He's always had a great team.
33:13But perspective, man.
33:14Hey, there's Big Al.
33:15That's his brother.
33:16Retired a few years ago.
33:17Watching quite intently.
33:20Supposed to be working today to run the events.
33:22But time out for five more minutes here.
33:28Oh, he's feeling it.
33:29Yeah.
33:31Jeremy, you're going to look back.
33:32And you're going to see no one because you dominated, son.
33:36It's the family's track.
33:37And Alex and soon Jeremy will start taking the reins from mom and dad to operate this facility.
33:44But for a moment, they're still focused on the racing.
33:48And that moment is the final lap of Jeremy Martin's career.
33:53And the whole team is cheering, not for their individual riders.
34:01They're cheering Jeremy Martin, who kicked off the run of what has become one of the most dominant runs in the history of this class.
34:08That started in 2014 when Jeremy Martin was winning races and the championship.
34:14This squad went from a team that was trying to get there to a team that suddenly was.
34:18And they have not turned that off since running through Hayden Deegan right now.
34:23But it started with this guy.
34:25And he's going to end it the same way.
34:26Yeah, Jason, well said, well said.
34:31I don't know what more we can say.
34:33Yeah, I mean, I'm listening to this crowd.
34:35And we just saw him on the gate.
34:37It looked like he was crying, you know, or just finished crying.
34:41And I've seen a lot of impressive rides.
34:43And this is really impressive to do what he's doing with all the emotions.
34:49A little bit, let you hear these crowds.
34:51Let the track crew be biased today and cheer him.
35:02Yeah, to deal with all the stuff, the emotions and everything to come on is super impressive.
35:09You can hear him going.
35:11But Hayden Deegan is doing what Hayden Deegan's done all year long.
35:14He's beating everybody else.
35:16Jeremy came out here and won this race.
35:18There's no ifs, ands, and buts.
35:20Hayden wanted to do it.
35:21There's Dad.
35:23All right.
35:24Dad's going to take time out of the event now, too.
35:26The track owner with Alex.
35:28They got him in the Outers Tower.
35:31And Jeremy looking to bring it home.
35:34Hayden Deegan's going to win the overall.
35:36No one's going to remember that part.
35:38And this podium today will bring him within one of the all-time mark in this class.
35:44He's going to be one short of Steve Lampson, who was the team manager when he was winning titles for this team.
35:51This is it.
35:53In so many ways, Jeremy Martin ends his career with a win.
35:58And Hayden Deegan, the overall winner of Millville, 2025.
36:08But these people will never forget this, and neither will Jeremy Martin.
36:13Yeah, and I knew Hayden would be the first person to run up to him and congratulate.
36:18What a ride we just witnessed.
36:19So cool.
36:20Congratulations, Jeremy and the whole Martin family.
36:23Excellent facility.
36:24Great people.
36:25So happy for the guy.
36:27And these fans grew up watching him race.
36:36And how about this?
36:37Every rider knows what this means.
36:40That's a dream way to end it.
36:42There's the team.
36:43We will hear.
