00:00Guess you never thought you'd see this guy again.
00:02Here's your look at the neck of toys, Universal Monsters, The Invisible Man, Dr. Jack Griffin, Ultimate Action Figure.
00:30Depicted in full color in his iconic house robe look when he's at Dr. Kemp's residence, this 7-inch scale action figure features 28 points of articulation.
00:40Accessories include five interchangeable heads and hands, swappable shirt collars for his different looks, stack of science books, bandage wrappings, and fire tongs.
00:47Would you all agree that a clean house is a Kemp house?
00:51Hello?
00:53Okay, nobody's going to agree with that.
00:54How about though instead what we do is we take the tape measure and we stay out tall the new NECA Invisible Man, Dr. Kemp's resident version of Invisible Man actually stands.
01:02He's going to be of a similar size to the original Invisible Man, don't worry, I'll be bringing him in a second.
01:07In the meantime though, this version of the Invisible Man is going to stand at six and three quarters of an inch in height, translating to a figure that's about 16 and a half centimeters tall.
01:16I guess it would be more of a help if I actually slide over Kemp's residence Invisible Man and bring in the original one.
01:21Hey, wait a minute, reviewer, you did say they were of similar size.
01:25Well, you know, to be fair, if you're looking at them waist to waist and roughly shoulder to shoulder, then they are somewhat of a similar size.
01:32The only reason why I think this guy is just a little bit taller is he also has, of course, the tops of hair sticking out the tops of his bandages,
01:38which would then give him a little bit more of higher of a reach.
01:41I think not for that.
01:42You could believe, though, it's the same character underneath.
01:45Uh-oh, I'm already seeing the naysayers saying, no, no, one figure was definitely taller than the other.
01:49Okay, fine.
01:50Let's look, though, at the accessories that come in clear with this version of the Invisible Man.
01:54Starting first, the figure does come in clear with the fire prongs, the fire tongs.
01:57The tongs themselves don't actually open up.
02:00If you try to keep prying them away like this, you're only going to break them, you're only going to cry,
02:04and then you're going to blame the guy that told you to do that.
02:06That wasn't me.
02:07I told you never to pry these away from one another.
02:09Their mold is specifically like this, so just leave them be.
02:12In fact, if anything could be said, what you can do is take the hand that he comes in clear with that's dedicated for holding the tongs
02:18and sort of just carefully stress this very much.
02:21Carefully put them in there because this is very thin plastic.
02:24You don't want these to snap.
02:26Probably will be displaying the figure, I think, with the fire tongs just because he doesn't really have a whole lot of anything else.
02:31Sure enough, yeah, he does come included with a stack of science books.
02:34Yeah, that's good.
02:35Advanced Chemistry and Physics.
02:37Professor Darrell.
02:38Is it Darrell?
02:39I can barely make that out.
02:41But he happened to have also come included with another book from the other earlier released, Invisible Man.
02:45So I guess if you had yourself a desk, I don't happen to have myself a desk of this size,
02:49but you probably could have like the books kind of all stacked together.
02:52You know, it's kind of surprising, though, that we've gotten ourselves a Dracula accessory set,
02:57a pack made for the mummy, and one then made for the Frankenstein's monster.
03:00And yet we don't actually have one yet for an Invisible Man.
03:03I hope that's something that's going to change down the road.
03:06Anyways, though, this was the original Invisible Man book.
03:08This is the stack of books that come included with this release right here.
03:11The figure does also come included with some swappable hands.
03:14Now, currently, though, on the ends of his forearms, the figure does have a couple of somewhat relaxed hands.
03:19He does also come included with a pointing hand.
03:22He does also come included with more of a gripping hand, although it's not really much that you can actually have him gripping onto.
03:28I mean, that's pretty wide of a grip, but much wider, though, are books.
03:32There's no way.
03:33I don't think he can actually hold the books.
03:35If he can, you're really going to have to force them in there.
03:37It actually does look like it should be really holding an elixir.
03:40Maybe it's something that, if you already have the other Invisible Man, he can include a little glass.
03:44So you could put the glass in this hand, for example.
03:46He does also have a couple of closed fists, which seems to me sort of redundant.
03:52I don't know why you'd really have included closed fists like this when you come to a character like Invisible Man,
03:56but c'est la vie, the figure does also have a couple of bandages.
04:01Now, these bandages, I can't see the place where they're supposed to go.
04:04It's not like they actually attach to anything.
04:06I suppose, if anything, you can have just held in his hand.
04:08And then the figure has this one that on the back of the packaging, they actually sort of have this suggested.
04:15Like, for example, if you take yourself, I'm just going to use this one as the example,
04:18because that's the one that they use on the back of the packaging.
04:20You can kind of somewhat take the bandages and give the idea that he's unraveling himself.
04:25These don't actually attach to anything.
04:27There's no hole.
04:28There's no peg.
04:29They don't attach the two together.
04:31But you can take yourself your hand.
04:33Let's grab yourselves a hand here.
04:34What's a good hand to use?
04:35Maybe like one of these hands.
04:37You can basically just take the hand and you wrap it around his fingers.
04:40So it looks like he's unraveling himself.
04:42Does that make sense?
04:43I certainly hope that makes sense.
04:45He does also have a swappable collar.
04:48I actually really appreciate the fact that this is something that we're now doing with new figures from NECA,
04:52is that we get now swappable collar pieces.
04:54Instead of having to worry like dismantling the figure or, hey, just releasing another secondary figure that happens to have,
04:59hey, this is the collar version of Invisible Man that just happens to match his pants.
05:04Instead, what they choose to do is they give us a swappable collar piece.
05:08Unfortunately, though, you may have to divorce his head from the rest of his body first.
05:12But once that comes off, you can put this back on.
05:15This, by the way, though, does match the colors of his pajamas down below here.
05:18So they've done a nice job to that.
05:20We'll also do that more in a second.
05:22And then finally, the Invisible Man does come included with four, count them, four swappable heads.
05:27I know you're currently seeing three rolling around, but they're not really so much rolling around.
05:30You see three on the table.
05:32There's one there, too.
05:33So that's, you know, again, three plus one.
05:34That's simple math.
05:35That's four.
05:36The actual defaulted head is actually a more tight bandaged head,
05:39which actually does have the bandages wrapped around all completely around his face.
05:42To bring back in the original Invisible Man, so you guys can see,
05:46this one did have the goggles.
05:47It did also have the fake nose.
05:48And it did have the hair sticking out the top.
05:51If you like this look of Invisible Man, you'll be also happy to know that they're using the same ball joints.
05:55So you can use this head for this head.
05:57You can mix and match.
05:58Crisscross applesauce.
06:00Just to show you guys what I mean by that,
06:01because I'm sure what I just said doesn't make any sense either.
06:04Just take the head that you want to detach, just like that.
06:08Put him down here for a second.
06:09Hey, wait a minute.
06:10He's not decapitated.
06:10Well, no, he's not.
06:11No, he's just, he's invisible.
06:13Then we'll go ahead and take this one off.
06:15And because again, they're using the exact same ball joints.
06:18Hey, would you know, you can actually take this head with a little bit of pressure.
06:22There you go.
06:22And you can actually use this head with the original Invisible Man.
06:25Fancy that.
06:27That's thinking ahead.
06:29Speaking of thinking ahead, if you want to think ahead with other heads,
06:32the figure does also have a variation of head that actually is a little bit more loose in bandages.
06:38I actually like these a whole lot more than these.
06:41Now, there's a couple of variations to this also as well.
06:43He's got the same glasses, but you can see like the bandages around his chin are a little looser.
06:47I like that this one gives him a much longer face because I felt like this face was a little too short and squat.
06:53Again, either one of them worked the exact same way.
06:56Each one of the heads, by the way, do have their own dedicated neck.
06:58So you don't have to worry about taking the neck off or, hey, just took the head off.
07:03I removed the neck altogether.
07:04Now I'm going to have to try to fish this all out.
07:06Nekasada well in advance for that.
07:08They decided to dedicate necks with each of the heads.
07:11So again, like you can go with this one.
07:12You can go with this one.
07:13They're very, very similar, obviously.
07:15But this one just has a little longer of a bandage down below.
07:18I like this.
07:19I like this one a lot more, to be honest.
07:21Then he also comes with somewhat of the two very similar styles.
07:24I guess technically, really, no, the figure does have five swappable heads because he's got also one over here that we use to unravel him.
07:30Five.
07:30Here I go talking about simple math.
07:32Talking about four when in actual fact it was five.
07:35Then he's got this variation of head, which again is a much tighter bandage face.
07:38Then he's got one that's a little bit more relaxed on the front.
07:41Pick which one you'd like to use.
07:43This would be ideal for a mummy as well.
07:45I would still choose really to go with this one myself.
07:47This actually kind of looks like he's got a little bit of more of a somber face, like he's so sad.
07:52It's okay, Invisible Man.
07:53It's okay.
07:53I'm sure the world will see you soon enough.
07:56So again, you can use either one of these.
07:58And again, this guy not knowing anything about simple math.
08:01Forgot to also mention that as well, that he has this head sculpt too, which does now have eye sockets and has a visible nose cavity.
08:06Although I say visible, you still can't see.
08:08Hello in there.
08:09Hello.
08:09Hello nose.
08:11No, no, it's not there.
08:12So again, like if you didn't want to change out the head.
08:14Before we actually do that though, I want to show you how to remove the collar piece.
08:17It is super simple.
08:18It's not really attached to anything.
08:20Just remove it like that.
08:21And there's a straight hole all the way through.
08:23So you don't even really have to fight it around the ball joint.
08:26Simply detach it just like that.
08:28Take then the new collar piece and just tuck it as deep inside as you can get it.
08:34The joke somewhere is there, I'm sure.
08:36Tuck that all the way in there and then basically just take the head that you want to then use.
08:39You want to use this one?
08:39Okay, we'll use this one for right now.
08:41And that just attaches onto the ball joint just like that.
08:45Now to go back to what I was talking about earlier, if you have that other bandage, which I just happen to have right here, you just take that extra bandage, wrap it around his head like that.
08:53And not quite, not quite drop it obviously, but basically just take the bandage, tuck it in between his fingers like that.
09:00And then somewhat, I'll get this figured out when we get to the final looks of the figure.
09:05Basically, you just put this onto his fingers and you pretend like he's unraveling himself.
09:08So I suppose there probably could have been an easier way for them to do this, or I'm just making it look a lot more difficult than really what it is.
09:14Just like that.
09:15Okay.
09:16Somewhat pulled it off.
09:18Although obviously the secret to the magician's trick, you spin this around, it clearly isn't attaching to anything.
09:23But at least it gets the job done.
09:26Now for the rest of the figure's body, obviously we've already established the fact he's got himself his jammies on, but he's also got himself a smoker's jacket.
09:32Would we just call this smoker's jacket?
09:35Housecoat?
09:35Housecoat probably makes a little bit more sense.
09:38The thing that's kind of also interesting about this figure too, as I bring back this one right here that's obviously missing his head, I want to pop the head back in place.
09:45There we go.
09:46Because this one also did have goggles.
09:48Now the thing that's interesting about the goggles, if you happen to have this figure already, you'll remember that he also comes with an extra pair.
09:55Would you believe that you can actually take the heads that he has, take these goggles?
09:59What's he going to do?
10:00What's he going to do?
10:01You probably can already figure out what I'm going to be doing.
10:03Basically just take the goggles and you put them over top of his eyes.
10:06See, if you'd rather have this look, providing of course you picked yourself both versions of the Invisible Man, just use the goggles from this guy and use the head from this guy.
10:15For the figure's articulation, going back to his head sculpt here, the Invisible Man is going to have a ball joint.
10:21I'm sure we've already established that now.
10:24He'll either have more flexibility or more availability when it comes to his posability, when it comes to what head you're going to be using.
10:30Because this one also has all this extra frill down below here with his wrappings, it's going to make this one a little bit harder to actually move around.
10:37Probably was a really bad example that he's using.
10:39I'm really, for actual fact, I probably should have maybe been using this head sculpt.
10:43This head's going to be on a ball joint.
10:44It's weird for me to actually just hold it on its own.
10:47The head does move up and down.
10:48It does move back and forth.
10:49Then because he does also have a ball joint right down here, the neck would also work the same way.
10:53Although, it's redundant for me to say that because the head that I'm using right now, I can't do any of that.
10:59Yeah, it could probably maybe, if anything, rotate it back and forth, maybe a little bit up and down.
11:03But this head's not going to be doing as much.
11:05The shoulders do allow the arms to rotate all the way around.
11:07You can bring the arms at 90 degrees.
11:09Same on this side too?
11:10Yeah, of course.
11:11Same on this side too.
11:12So, you can get yourself very successfully a T pose.
11:15The figure does have not a swivel here, but the figure has a swivel here.
11:18So, you can rotate the forearm back and forth at single hinge only.
11:21The hands do rotate all the way around.
11:24Hinge back and forth there too.
11:25Upper torso, ball joint.
11:27Despite really this looking like one complete piece of rope, he actually does have a split in his torso.
11:32So, he can easily rotate his torso around.
11:35The legs split, but there's limitations obviously because there's so much plastic on either side.
11:39These curtains of plastic really do prevent the figure's legs from splitting out further than what they're doing right now.
11:45And also too, it can be said, moving them forward and back is going to be a bit of an issue as well.
11:48So, he does have, if you move away the curtains, a knee bend.
11:52The knee bend's right there, but I mean like, even if you really were to be able to bend the knee, what are you going to be doing with it after the fact?
11:58But he does have a bit of a swivel down below here.
12:00The figure does have an ankle pivot and an ankle rocker.
12:04Pick your poison, which Invisible Man you like to get.
12:07Or certainly, if you're a fan of the original 30s film, you might choose to instead get both of them.
12:10And, you know, again, like I could see why some would say, you know, one is clearly taller than the other.
12:14But, you know, if you kind of look at this guy that's, you know, he's got extra hair on the top of his head, maybe that might give him a little more extra reach.
12:21Plus, too, with this particular head sculpt I've decided to use, at least for wrapping up the review.
12:29This one actually is a little bit higher.
12:30And it ends up making these figures a little more closer in scale with one another.
12:34I mean, certainly when it gets to collecting both of these.
12:36The benefit, though, is that you have all these extra heads to work with.
12:39So you're not necessarily, I don't feel like you have to be dedicated and committed to using the heads solely for this figure.
12:45Being that they also use universal ball joints with both of the figure releases,
12:48if you choose to want to use either one of these heads with this figure, you can easily do that.
12:53In fact, you can also even use the goggles from this figure as well to attach to the head that came included with this one here.
12:58There's a lot of mix and match possibilities if you happen to get your chance to grab both figures that NECA have released.
13:04Could I offer anyone a drink, by the way?
13:05Actually, the drink was offered by the original Invisible Man.
13:08And it was the accessory that came included with him.
13:10I did mention in the review that he did have a gripping hand that really didn't belong to anything.
13:13So if you did want to use the elixir glass that came with the original one,
13:17obviously you can have it displayed with this figure.
13:19Yeah, losing some of the illusion from the back of the figure's body,
13:21you can see that he's got the bandages sort of looking like he's unraveling from his face.
13:26I suppose they probably could have put a peg there and then a hole on his head where it could have attached to look more secure.
13:30But if you look at only from the front, you'll never lose the illusion of it.
13:35One thing I really like about this figure, though, is the amount of heads that he has.
13:38I mean, if you look at the original figure, he only counted up three.
13:41This guy counts up five.
13:43Even though in the review, I jokingly said simple math, that's four.
13:45With an actual fact, it was five.
13:47Five heads that you can either mix and match with the existing body or mix and match, hey, why not, with the other Invisible Man, too.
13:53Using universal ball joints for both the figures was a smart idea on Nekka's part,
13:57so you can choose which head you want to use not only for this one,
14:00but choose which head you'd like to use for the others as well.
14:03Outside of that, the figure doesn't really have much in the way of accessories.
14:06Yeah, sure, some swappable hands, fire tongs, and a stack of books.
14:09I still hold out hope, though, that we are eventually going to be getting an Invisible Man accessory set.
14:15You would just think, like, logically, it would make sense to include, like, a tabletop,
14:19different bunts and beakers and test tubes and all the things that Invisible Man would test with.
14:25And then there would at least be a place to put the stack of books that head this figure had,
14:28with this figure that came included with, and also the single book that had the original, the OG head.
14:33All in all, though, I'm really happy with this Invisible Man.
14:35I think really between the two, I gotta say, this one is the better of the lot.
14:39I do really like, though, the house quote that he has.
14:42The fact that he has as many heads as he has.
14:45He doesn't, though, to be fair, have as many accessories, but if you really think of it,
14:49the original had a fake nose as one of the accessories, and it also had a fake, like, toupee.
14:54In the end, though, I think this is the better of the two.
14:56It's funny, though, that the better of the two was the one that we had to wait a little bit longer for,
15:00but it was certainly worth the wait.
15:01Of the two Invisible Men have you guys seen, certainly from NECA release, which one would you say is the better of the two?
15:08You like the house coat one a little bit better with the pajamas, or you like the suit version of Invisible Man a little bit more?
15:14Let me know down below.
15:15So, if, in the meantime, you guys did enjoy this video, do it a solid, throw it a like.
15:19You guys want to stick around for more, so?
15:20I hope so.
15:22Even though it looks like the audience has emptied out, either that or everybody's now Invisible People.
15:26If you guys are still invisible, and you're still here, just let me know.
15:31Oh!
15:31Oh, I can hear that guy kind of yelling in the background.
15:34Okay, if you guys certainly did want to stick around, though, for more,
15:37at the very end of this video will also be a playlist.
15:39Feel free to go in there and check out all the other NECA reviews that I've done, and for Universal Monsters.
15:44But if you certainly would like to also stick around,
15:46you don't have to wait the whole length until a new video gets popped up.
15:49But there will certainly be more videos coming your way for the rest of this week.
15:52As always, thanks for watching.
15:53See you guys next time!
15:56See you next time!
