00:00in western society tattoos have long been viewed as a negative when it comes to employment potential
00:08but a new study actually reveals there's been a change in public opinion nearly half of millennials
00:14now have at least one tattoo and companies may put themselves at a competitive disadvantage they say
00:19if they dismiss someone who has any the study finds that tattooed individuals for the first time
00:26ever now aren't suffering financially due to their markings and actually they may even benefit from
00:32them they no longer impact employment to potential if you think that tattoos are bad or it you know
00:41will affect you in any kind of negative way you're just old out of touch no you you are old because
00:49but there's so many people there's a lot of places still that won't hire you you still have to keep
00:54them covered up you have to keep them covered up i think it's becoming less and less i think it's
00:58becoming less but i think also you'd still there's certain tattoos that would never fly there are
01:02people that have to wear long sleeves you know at their jobs and usually it's like some kind of
01:09they're gonna they're gonna encounter old people true like when i was uh when i first started managing
01:14the gas station when i lived in arizona yeah i had to wear a long sleeve denim button-up like to cover
01:19my tattoos yeah everybody else had short sleeves but because i had my my right sleeve done i had to
01:24wear the long sleeves to hide my tattoos yeah yeah i get what you're saying though there'll still be
01:28certain things where it won't fly no matter how progressive society becomes yep there's still
01:34certain jobs where it will not be accepted because they're still they're dealing with a part of the
01:40population that would never accept them or they're just a very strict button-down kind of company
