Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04
Office. Fairly quiet for the next 24 hours before things ramp up after that,
00:09
more about that in a moment. For the time being, like the last few nights, we're
00:13
having a mix of rain slicing the central part of the country, mostly patchy rain
00:18
in Drizzle now, low cloud ahead of it, some clearer skies across central and
00:22
eastern areas of Scotland, far north of England as well as Northern Ireland.
00:25
Still a scattering of showers just moving in across central and western
00:29
areas of Scotland, but where you see those clearer skies overnight, watch out
00:33
for some fog patches forming. Low cloud, murky conditions across England and
00:38
Wales and still that rain in Drizzle continues, particularly across South
00:41
Yorkshire, down towards North Midlands, Wales, northern and western areas of
00:45
Wales and even further south we could see some filaments of rain and Drizzle.
00:49
It's going to be a cold night, particularly in the north where you see
00:52
those lighter winds and also some starry skies. Expect some pockets of
00:56
frost as we enter the day on Wednesday and further south it's a fairly grim
01:02
start with a lot of low clouds and again some rain and Drizzle just coming and
01:06
going. Showers from the word go across more northern and western areas of
01:11
Scotland, one or two clipping the far northwest of Northern Ireland and a few
01:15
running down the Isle of Man, the Irish Sea towards the West Country. Now the fog
01:20
will be slow to clear in the north, there are patches of fog, but once they do you
01:23
will see some brighter skies coming through, particularly for central and
01:26
eastern areas of Scotland. Border regions, North East England, Northern Ireland
01:30
seeing broken cloud and through the day we'll see some broken cloud coming in
01:33
across Wales and the West Country. At the same time this weather front here is
01:37
fairly fragmented, but we could see some ripples of rain just extending across
01:43
more southern and eastern areas as we head through the afternoon. Elsewhere
01:46
with a light breeze not too bad with some brighter weather coming through
01:50
make the most of it, all change on Thursday. So here are your temperatures
01:54
as we head through tomorrow around five, six, seven degrees Celsius, more of a breeze
02:00
down towards Cornwall elsewhere, a light wind. Now on Wednesday evening and
02:05
overnight any rain clears the far southeast, still a few showers lurking
02:09
out there, return to frost particularly across central and eastern areas down
02:13
towards the south there we could see some pockets of frost and then later on
02:17
in the night the cloud will thicken across Northern Ireland and notice this
02:21
rain's quite heavy, it's moving in through the early hours of the morning
02:24
so a wet and windy start to the day across Northern Ireland and fringes of
02:28
Western Scotland as well as Northwest England and then through the day that
02:32
rain extends across Wales, central and eastern areas of England through the
02:35
afternoon. We could see some snow over the Highlands as well as it pushes
02:39
towards the northeast through the latter part of the day. The winds will pick up
02:42
with some showers to follow. So this is that weather front straddling the
02:47
country and moving its way eastwards and in its wake we see this storm move in.
02:53
Now Storm Eoin is a deep area of low pressure, gusts could reach 70 to 80 miles
03:00
an hour particularly southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northwest England as
03:03
well as Wales and the area of strongest winds will extend across Northern
03:07
England towards Northern Scotland as we head through the afternoon. Heavy rain as
03:12
well, some snow preceding that rain with showers to follow. There are wind
03:16
warnings enforced across most of the country and gusts inland where you don't
03:20
see those 70 to 80 mile an hour gusts will reach 50 miles an hour so there
03:24
will be just some disruption associated with it. More details of the storm check
03:29
out our deep dive on our YouTube channel. Here's your outlook then through Friday
03:33
the rain swiftly moves north and northeastwards with heavy showers to
03:37
follow. See you later.
