Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04The weather is fairly messy through the next 24 hours.
00:07A mix of clouds, some brighter moments damped towards the northwest with this weather front here.
00:13Elsewhere through Wednesday we could see some sharp showers develop with the risk of thunder.
00:20A similar situation into Thursday, still some showers around but high pressure building from the Atlantic
00:26and that means things will slowly settle down through Thursday and into Friday
00:31with more in the way of fine weather coming through and temperatures will be slightly higher as well.
00:37However, back to Tuesday evening and we do have some showers around.
00:42One or two heavier pulses can't be roared out, some pushing down towards the west country as well as Wales.
00:48A few running in across Northern Ireland, more cloud overnight though with some patchy rain and drizzle
00:53for the upslopes of the northwest highlands and as you can see here, some clearer skies developing
00:58northern England, eastern parts of Scotland.
01:01It will be a relatively mild night, a bit of a breeze towards the northwest of Scotland
01:06and it running down the north channel towards Irish Sea coast.
01:09But really that's not a particularly strong wind into Wednesday morning.
01:13It's a fairly calm start to the day and we will see that cloud continue with that patchy rain and drizzle
01:19towards the northwest. At the same time, showers will develop.
01:23Now these could cluster and become slow moving through the afternoon.
01:27The chance of some heavy downpours with the risk of thunder.
01:30Further showers also developing across central eastern parts of Scotland, northern parts of England as well.
01:37And again, the odd heavier one can't be roared out.
01:39It's going to feel warm in any sunshine, 21 to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:44A mix of a fair amount of cloud just coming and going and watch out for those showers through Wednesday evening.
01:49They will continue into evening time.
01:52Eventually we'll see some quieter weather coming through, clearer skies, but yet again more cloud, low cloud at that
02:00and some patchy rain and drizzle continues across Caithness, Sutherland, northwest highlands.
02:06But into Thursday, many places dawning bright.
02:09There will be again some showers developing northern England, eastern counties of England as well,
02:14with the risk of some heavier downpours here and there, but fairly scattered.
02:19And we will see some brighter skies coming through as dry weather comes in from the west.
02:24Temperatures on the up as well on Thursday, feeling warmer, much warmer across England and Wales.
02:2925, 26 degrees Celsius and a 22 for Northern Ireland, 21 for the Murray Firth as well as the Central Belt.
02:37Here's your outlook through Friday.
02:39That chart showed that high pressure moving in, bringing the prospect of some drier conditions as well as some sunshine
02:46and feeling very warm indeed.
02:48Just a chance of one or two very light showers towards the northwest.
02:51I'll see you later.
