00:00Thanks for joining me for this national weather update for big chunks of the

00:04country. Tuesday will be drier than Monday but there is more wet and windy

00:09weather on the way for Wednesday courtesy of this area of low pressure.

00:12It's a blink and you miss it little ridge of high pressure moving in which

00:16will as I say bring many of us a drier day but here comes that next low and the

00:22winds will be picking up as these weather fronts bring cloud and rain in

00:25from the southwest during Tuesday evening and likely to stick around

00:28through Wednesday too. Let's go through the rest of Monday night and Tuesday

00:33first of all however because it's turning drier but it's far from dry we

00:37still got low pressure in control still plenty of outbreaks of rain through

00:40Monday night across Scotland, Northern Ireland, plenty of showers over Northern

00:44England. It's turning drier at least across the south some clearer spells

00:47developing here and some temperatures dropping to about 12 to 14 degrees

00:53Celsius to start Tuesday morning. Now as I said many places will be drier on

00:58Tuesday but it'll still be quite cloudy first thing over northwest England,

01:01North Wales, some outbreaks of rain here, southeastern parts of Scotland and

01:06Northern Ireland too. Now these rainier zones the rain should tend to ease off

01:10as we go through the day a few scattered showers in the southwest but much of

01:13South Wales, southern England will be dry and bright and a good chunk of Scotland

01:17also looking mostly fine through Tuesday so largely dry here some sunny spells

01:22breaking through. Elsewhere I think we'll generally keep a lot of cloud but as I

01:26said not as wet as Monday. More rain now starting to approach into parts of

01:32Cornwall by the end of the afternoon. Temperature wise well still generally

01:37below average for the time of year high teens across the north maybe into the

01:4020s across parts of eastern England where we see a bit of sunshine 22 maybe

01:4423 Celsius is possible but mostly still on the cool side for the time of year

01:48and the wet and windy weather I talked about earlier area of low pressure will

01:52spread into southwest England, South Wales during Tuesday evening and then

01:56kind of pivoting round as it spreads across Northern Ireland, parts of the

02:01Midlands, Northern England. It's a weather front and there's the low

02:04pressure by the start of Wednesday on its southern flank. Some pretty lively

02:08winds getting pretty blustery for the time of year again across the coast of

02:13South Wales, southwest England with further pulses of rain in here. Where

02:17that weather front lies it could be a very soggy day indeed. Exactly where it

02:22sits with that wind coming in from the North Sea pretty grim I would have

02:27thought with persistent rain for much of the day. Something a bit brighter further

02:31south but close to the low pressure any brightness may well spark some heavy

02:35even thundery showers. It does look a little drier across Scotland and perhaps

02:39parts of Northern Ireland come Wednesday afternoon. Notice the winds are coming

02:43down from the north however so bringing that cooler feel particularly if you're

02:46stuck under that rain band with the wind off the North Sea 15-16 degrees. Further

02:51south with a bit of brightness we may again squeak into the 20s but generally

02:55feeling cooler once more especially on the south coast where it will be a

02:58blusterous day. During the course of Wednesday evening that area of low

03:03pressure should tend to head away but the weather is going to remain
