00:02There'll be far fewer leaves on the trees

00:05by the end of this week.

00:06Going to get pretty windy, especially

00:08around the middle of the week.

00:09Today, though, for most places, the winds are fairly light.

00:12There's a bit of a northwest-southeast split.

00:15A lot of cloud in the satellite image

00:16streaming in from the Atlantic, bringing outbreaks of rain

00:19this morning to Northern Ireland, pushing now

00:21across a good part of Scotland.

00:23Getting a bit drier in Northern Ireland,

00:24staying fairly glum this afternoon.

00:26Fringland and Wales bar the odd bit of drizzly rain

00:28here and there, mostly in the southwest.

00:31Most places dry and reasonably bright.

00:33Yes, quite a lot of cloud.

00:35But some places seeing a little bit of early October

00:38sunshine, which will lift the temperatures up

00:41into the high teens.

00:43So above average for the time of year 18,

00:4519 with light winds feeling pretty pleasant.

00:47But the winds are getting stronger

00:48as that weather system we saw in the satellite image

00:51brings further outbreaks of rain to parts of Western Scotland.

00:54The rain's starting to build up here as well.

00:56It may ease for a little bit through this evening.

00:58But further pulses of rain coming into Western Scotland

01:01overnight could cause a few issues,

01:03certainly a lot of spray and surface water on the roads.

01:06We have issued a yellow warning for that rainfall.

01:09The rain returns to Northern Ireland overnight as well,

01:11so a soggy start to Tuesday.

01:13Bit of drizzle here and there for England and Wales,

01:15but most of England and Wales will have a dry night.

01:18And pretty much everywhere, it will be a fairly mild night

01:20with that brisk breeze keeping the temperatures up

01:2212 or 13 below.

01:25On to the details for Tuesday.

01:27It's a bit of a messy one.

01:28We start with a heavy rain still in Western Scotland,

01:31but it should clear fairly quickly.

01:32Quite a wet rush out through the central belt.

01:35But even here, that rain is edging through and easing

01:38from Northern Ireland also.

01:39But it's going to be quite a damp day for Northwest England

01:42and a good part of Central and West Wales.

01:44Eventually, that rain creeping its way

01:46into the north coast of Devon and Cornwall

01:48and across the Midlands too.

01:50But brining up across Northern Scotland

01:52with some sunny spells, but staying blustery

01:54with a few showers across the Western Isles.

01:57Staying largely dry and bright across East Anglia

01:59and the southeast.

02:00And temperatures here could get up to 20 degrees

02:02Celsius in one or two spots before the cloud starts

02:05to spill in.

02:06Again, generally temperatures above average,

02:08but not feeling all that pleasant

02:10through the central areas with that rain coming

02:12in by the afternoon and the winds getting lively.

02:15And this kind of central swathe staying fairly damp

02:19as we head through Tuesday night and into Wednesday.

02:21So pretty wet for the Midlands.

02:23Western parts of England and much of Wales.

02:25And that is tied into this developing weather system.

02:29Pushes the rain back into Northern Ireland also.

02:31This is an area of low pressure that we need to watch.

02:34Moving in on Tuesday night and more particularly Wednesday.

02:37Set to move across parts of Northern Britain.

02:40The ice above squeezing together.

02:41It's going to get windy everywhere.

02:43Be a spell of heavy rain everywhere as well.

02:46But we do need to watch this because it's developing

02:48as it approaches the UK.

02:50Could cause a few problems.

02:51Most likely scenario is that it brings winds of 55

02:55to 65 miles an hour that could cause a few issues.

02:58But there is the potential for that load

03:00to be a little bit more intense.

03:02Remember, it's developing as it approaches the UK.

03:04That could bring a spell of winds a little bit higher,

03:07which would give more disruption.

03:10So something to watch.

03:11Now we've got this broad yellow wind warning in place.

03:15But as I said, those winds could for a smaller area

03:17be a little bit more significant.

03:19So it's something we're keeping a close eye on.
