Hello. For most, Tuesday will be a rather dull and damp affair, but it will be a milder
00:05
day compared to Monday. A brisk and cold wind blowing plenty of showers across the country
00:11
still through Monday evening, but they're fading rapidly and most places will become
00:16
dry until this area of rain pushes into southwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland by dawn.
00:22
As it does so, the winds will be picking up and it will be eventually turning milder.
00:27
But ahead of that rain, it's only quite chilly across eastern areas with some frost likely
00:31
across northeastern parts of Scotland. The Northern Isles will keep the showers going
00:35
through the night. On to the details for Tuesday. And if you're up early enough, it may be dry
00:40
across eastern England and much of Scotland. However, fairly rapidly, that rain will be
00:45
spreading its way across eastern England and then through Scotland. Heavy and persistent
00:49
rain for northwest England and parts of Wales because it's been so wet recently. This extra
00:54
rain could cause some issues. So we do have Met Office yellow warnings in place. Parts
01:00
of eastern England will turn a bit dry through the afternoon and the rain won't be as heavy
01:03
or as persistent across southern areas and Northern Ireland also turning a little drier.
01:08
But most places just keeping a lot of cloud and outbreaks of rain and gusty, gusty winds.
01:14
We will see the temperatures rising, certainly compared to Monday's values, double digits
01:19
almost across the board and into the teens across parts of the south. I suspect it'll
01:23
still feel pretty cold across northern Scotland, starting around freezing here as the wet and
01:27
windy weather moves in. Temperatures are going to struggle to rise, but for many, it will
01:31
feel milder than Monday for sure. But more wet and windy weather to come through the
01:36
evening across Wales and western parts of England. Rapidly, that band of rain should
01:41
sweep across England and Wales, leaving clearer skies for a time, but also then plenty of
01:46
showers coming in as we head into Wednesday. We're back to that mix of sunshine and showers
01:50
for Wednesday. The winds will be swift. Much of eastern England, northeast Scotland, probably
01:55
not seeing too many showers, certainly in the morning, but the showers packing in further
01:59
west. Heavy showers, hail and thunder possible, zipping through because of the strength of
02:05
the winds. But of course, any extra rain not particularly welcome after such a wet start
02:10
to the year. Blustery winds as well, making it again feel cooler. Temperatures back down
02:16
on Wednesday, close to average, but feeling colder than 7 to 10 Celsius because of the
02:21
wind and certainly when the showers come along, of which there will be plenty and will continue
02:25
with more showers as we head through Wednesday evening. The broader picture shows further
02:31
spells of wet and windy weather throughout this week. That's the one for Tuesday. Then
02:36
we've got showers on Wednesday, more weather fronts bringing more persistent rain on Thursday.
02:41
They swing through and this low will then throw more showers across the country on Friday.
02:45
So the weather chopping and changing, but the general weather pattern always coming
02:49
in from the west. For more details on the week ahead forecast, subscribe to our YouTube
