Hello. Some heavy rain around overnight, particularly across parts of central and eastern England.
00:05
A bright and breezy Tuesday for most of the UK. But as I said, some quite heavy bursts
00:10
of rain around at the moment, particularly through parts of Lincolnshire and East Anglia,
00:15
especially North Norfolk. Some thunderstorms here before steadily clearing away through
00:20
the early hours. Some clearer skies for parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England
00:24
should allow temperatures to dip down into single figures, certainly in the countryside.
00:28
Towns and cities, double digits and quite a mild night with all the cloud across the
00:32
southeast. A grey start then to Tuesday with still some outbreaks of rain, especially over
00:37
the Midlands, more central parts of southern England. That rain moving across East Anglia
00:42
and the southeast through the rush hour as well. So a lot of spray surface water on the
00:46
roads does scoot away by lunchtime, bright skies following. There will be some showers
00:51
as well, particularly for Northern England. Parts of Western Scotland are sprinkling for
00:55
Northern Ireland. Stay quite breezy too across the north. Elsewhere, a bit of a breeze, some
01:00
sunny spells, small chance of a shower for Wales and southwest England. But much of the
01:04
south and east, I suspect, will stay dry and bright. A somewhat fresher feel with temperatures
01:09
mostly in the mid to maybe high teens could squeak up to 20 Celsius in the capital, but
01:14
generally say 14 to 19 Celsius to cover it. So around about average for the time of year.
01:20
Still a few showers around on Tuesday evening, mostly western Scotland, northwest England
01:24
and then actually another area of more persistent rain comes into parts of western Scotland.
01:30
That needs watching because it's likely to linger for a good part of Wednesday. See this
01:35
train of rain continuing to feed in. That could cause, say, some issues, potential for
01:40
some disruption, probably getting into parts of the north of Northern Ireland late in the
01:44
day. For the bulk of England and Wales, Wednesday, a fine bright day, a few scattered showers
01:50
mostly for Wales and western England. Much of the east will stay dry and a bit of sun
01:54
shed again could see temperatures into the high teens. But that wet weather across the
01:58
northwest likely to linger as a sudden so could cause a few issues. There is a Met Office
02:03
yellow warning in place being caused by this trailing waving weather front. It doesn't
02:09
really stop on Wednesday night and into Thursday. We see another low pressure bringing another
02:14
set of weather fronts into this zone. So that rain really building up through the second
02:19
half of the week. Meanwhile, for the south through the second half of the week, high
02:23
pressure is in control. And if we rewind and run through that sequence again, but with
02:28
the temperatures on the middle of the week, temperatures around average. But actually,
02:32
as we head towards Friday, as that low pressure starts to pull away, yes, it's going to stay
02:37
wet with those weather fronts in the northwest. But look at the warmth of the air drifting
02:42
northwards. The temperatures could really jump up, particularly by the weekend. Make
02:46
sure you stay up to date with the latest forecasts and the best way to do that, of course, followers
02:51
across social media.
