00:00
Morning. Welcome to your 49-hour weekend.
00:04
Will the weather be playing ball?
00:06
Clocks going back, of course, tonight.
00:08
Means we get that extra hour in bed.
00:10
But for today, many places set fair.
00:13
Dry and fine with sunny spells.
00:14
But there's always one or two exceptions.
00:16
And they're at the extreme southeast of the country
00:18
and the far northwest.
00:19
Thickening cloud bringing a grey day
00:21
for much of East Anglia and the southeast.
00:23
Parts of the East Midlands and Lincolnshire too
00:25
staying pretty glum with some rain and drizzle at times.
00:28
And then we have heavier rain coming into the far northwest.
00:31
Quite a wet day on the west coast of Scotland by this evening.
00:33
That rain approaching Glasgow and turning damp
00:36
after a dry start across much of Northern Ireland.
00:38
But between those two zones of cloud,
00:41
quite a bit of fine, bright, sunny weather to be had.
00:44
And it's still pretty mild temperatures getting up
00:46
into the mid-teens, 15, 16, perhaps 17 degrees Celsius.
00:50
Behind this line of rain, though, this weather front,
00:53
some colder air is arriving.
00:55
And that's going to seep its way south tonight.
00:57
The rain will spread through the central belt this evening
01:00
and then spread into parts of Northern England and North Wales.
01:03
But all the while, as this line of rain trickles south,
01:06
it kind of fizzles out.
01:07
So by morning, it's pretty much disappeared.
01:10
But it will be introducing that cooler air.
01:12
Maybe one or two showers and a brisk breeze
01:14
across the far northwest.
01:15
But for many, it turns clear through the night
01:18
and it will be turning chilly.
01:20
Certainly colder than the night just gone.
01:22
Widely down to the low single figures
01:25
and some pockets of frost likely in the countryside.
01:27
Not quite as cold across the far south.
01:30
A bit more cloud spilling in here from that weather front,
01:32
which is continuing to break up.
01:34
And it should be disappearing quite smartly on Sunday
01:37
to reveal plenty of sunshine tomorrow.
01:40
Certainly for England and Wales, it stays that way.
01:42
But for Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:44
we are looking at a weather system moving in,
01:46
bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain
01:48
and a strengthening breeze as well.
01:50
So things changing here again during tomorrow.
01:52
Further south, it's by and large
01:54
a fine day on Sunday.
01:56
It won't be as warm as today, 12, 13,
01:58
maybe a 14 after that cold start.
02:01
These temperatures are close to average,
02:03
feeling pretty pleasant in the sunny spells.
02:05
Whereas similar temperatures, but a very different feel
02:08
with the wind and the rain across western Scotland
02:11
and parts of Northern Ireland.
02:12
That is from a weather system that's edging in
02:15
during Sunday and will try and push south
02:18
as we go through Monday, introducing more cloud.
02:20
But again, I think the rain tending to fizzle out.
02:22
And then as we go into next week,
02:24
if you're on half term, this is probably good news.
02:27
An area of high pressure is starting to edge its way in,
02:30
which will bring a lot of dry weather.
02:32
Not necessarily sunny.
02:34
There'll probably still be a lot of cloud
02:36
and misty conditions.
02:38
But this area of high pressure, I say,
02:39
should give many areas a pretty dry week
02:42
as we go through next week.
02:43
If you are on half term, then do keep up to date
02:45
with those day-to-day details.
02:46
Best way to do that, of course,
02:48
is to hit subscribe on our YouTube channel.
02:52
Thanks for watching.
