00:07new Haya Toys the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 Exquisite Super Series
00:11Leather Face.
00:30This brand new 112 scale Leather Face action figure is based on the iconic
00:43look from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 and stands 160 millimeters tall with 19
00:48points of articulation. Featuring an all-new highly poseable body, the figure
00:53authentically recreates Leather Face's rotund physique, disheveled shoulder
00:57length hair and disturbingly accurate facial skin mask. Hidden joints are
01:01cleverly integrated into the neck and torso while numerous articulation points
01:05throughout the body allow to recreate various poses from the movie. He likes to
01:09wear his mask of skin no matter what place you find him in. Just of course
01:13before we get a closer look at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 Exquisite Super
01:16Series Leather Face, first I'd like to thank the folks over at Haya that helped
01:20by providing the sample we could have a look at. Second I'd like to help by
01:23providing you guys the viewing audience with some 4-1-1 that this guy slated to
01:27release and ship the third quarter of 2024 for the asking price online of
01:32$89.99. Leather Face is gonna stand at 6 inches in height so you can
01:37probably even see it for yourself or the figure is gonna stand at about 15
01:41centimeters tall. Now ideally I would like to have brought in the 112
01:44collective version of Leather Face so you guys could see a proper size
01:47comparison between the two. I will tell you though right away one problem that
01:51is facing this Leather Face is the size that they made him. Generally they you
01:55can tell that they're probably gonna be using a lot of the same body molds from
01:58one figure to the other but unfortunately though that does translate
02:01to Leather Face being exactly the same size as other figures of a 112 size
02:04scale. Like for example even though I don't have Leather Face I of course I
02:09also wanted to look all around my basement just to see where I could find
02:12Leather Face. I've moved some stuff around and sure enough at the time of
02:15hitting this record I couldn't find his whereabouts. I could though find Dick
02:18Warlock's Michael Myers. This is from the 112 collective and you can see like Dick
02:22Warlock shouldn't be the size that he is when you compare him against Leather
02:25Face. Mark Burnham who actually played the role in the 2022 film stood at 6
02:30foot 4. Dick Warlock clearly is not 6 foot 4 nor really is Sylvester Stallone's
02:35Rambo which again is another figure we released we got from Haya Toys under the
02:39exquisite Super Series banner. Unfortunately again like they because
02:42they are using I'm guessing a lot of the same molds it means that Leather Face may
02:46come up a little bit literally short. Speaking of short Leather Faces I'd also
02:50bring in as well the one we got from Haya Toys earlier. Now this wasn't the
02:54exquisite Super Series this was the exquisite mini series. You can see like
02:58Leather Face from a standpoint of a mold is very similar but there's definitely a
03:02difference of not only the materials that they've used because the smaller
03:05exquisite mini was using all plastic. The brand new one that we're getting here
03:09from the exquisite Super Series line is using fabric instead. Let's first have a
03:13look at the display stand that comes included with Leather Face before we
03:15break out his accessories. By the way though once those accessories have been
03:19broken out there's a place at least to store them. If you're familiar with the
03:22exquisite Super Series by now you probably already knew that that the box
03:25itself not only serves as a display stand for the figure but hey how about
03:28that you can also store all the accessories inside as well. Right now
03:32there's no rattling inside that could change though because whatever you don't
03:35end up displaying with your figure can go inside the box. To access the box
03:38though there's a little lip on the back here you basically just lift this up. I
03:42guess before doing that though I did want to show you that there's a font
03:44down below here of Leather Face. Only offering just a little bit of criticism
03:48I would say like the size of the font is maybe a little too squished. It's kind of
03:51really hard to make out that says Leather Face. I would have preferred if
03:53it was just a little bit bigger. That's a that's a small thing though. Then of
03:57course there's the hole in the back that can accommodate then the adjustable neck
04:00but before we do that though I want to show you on the back here there's a
04:03little accessible lip. You just get your finger behind that and you open this up.
04:06You could either choose to have your accessories loose rattling around and
04:10potentially breaking or you can go the smarter routes and store them inside the
04:14bag instead. There isn't really a place to write down I guess there's a place I
04:18mean really around the entire bag if you want to write down the name of the
04:22character but again like the fact they include a little bag here to store all
04:25the extra accessories and they put it in a place where you can easily access it.
04:29It's good work on highest part. Now again like you could go the route if you want
04:33to use this display stand lid and when you are putting it back in place you'll
04:37see that there's a little lip of plastic right here. Can you see that? That was my
04:40finger out of the way. That's probably the best to just go back here because
04:43again like this is the part that sticks down. If you put it around the other way
04:46you'll find like that little lip of plastic it kind of sticks up and it
04:49doesn't really serve much of a purpose. Either way you're still gonna have to
04:52reach it from the back anyways. I'd like to kind of keep everything a little bit
04:54more flush so I like to keep the little lip of plastic here flush and flat to
04:59the back. Anyways you get yourself again the adjustable neck that just plugs on
05:03to the back like this. The adjustable neck does have adjustable knuckle joints in
05:07four places one two three and four and then you got yourself the waist clip
05:11that's gonna clip around Leatherface's body. You like that but you wish there
05:14were more holes? Okay what you can do is you can pop this off and you can replace
05:20the lid all together. Just pop that off and you replace it instead with now a
05:24hole that multiplies it by nine so instead of having just the one hole in
05:27back corner you know you got yourself nine different available options and
05:30that plugs on to the exact same way although I don't think this one has a
05:33lid a little lip there's a little small one here but we're just gonna plug it on
05:37top here make sure everything's lined up of course there you go and then
05:44instead of just having on the back I mean you guys already know I mean I
05:46could just easily point it all this you guys can already kind of sum this up
05:49yourselves you can plug it in the middle you can play it off to the side you can
05:52plug it anywhere that you want and now you've got yourself an adjustable stand
05:55I do think it's a little on the higher side what you can also do too is you can
05:59detach these so if you want them a little bit shorter just enough to
06:03accommodate maybe just to having Leatherface standing just take the parts
06:06that you don't want off and just put them aside or hey why not you can even
06:10put them inside the box as well and that just plugs on to the top and now you got
06:15yourself a little waist clip to clip around Leatherface I don't think he
06:18necessarily needs it you can see the figure stands fine I think one thing I
06:22would have liked to have seen them do also too is maybe like adding a peg on
06:25the top here where you could just have taken the figures feet even though
06:27really if you look at the bottom of the city he doesn't have peg holes anyways
06:30but just that's one option available instead if you didn't want to have a
06:33waist clip clamping around the figures body okay so let's have a look at the
06:36figures accessories now Leatherface if they include the ones that he has on the
06:40ends of his arms the figure does have a total of eight swappable hands the hand
06:44that I use for the opener of this review one is a gripping hand to hold the
06:47sledgehammer one is just a gestured hand the figure does also have at his
06:50disposal a pair of relaxed hands these hands are actually a little harder to
06:54hold on to you can see already that are stained but they're also very slick to
06:57the touch he's got blood everywhere on his hands on his apron on a shirt on his
07:02mask it'd be a lot easier just to basically say the parts on Leatherface
07:06his body that don't have blood on him and believe me you don't want to know
07:08the hands themselves I mean the stain looks okay it may be a little too
07:13excessive but I guess that's kind of a little redundant to say that especially
07:16considering who we're talking about here but he comes with a pair of relaxed
07:19hands the figure does also come included with a pair of gripping hands I wouldn't
07:23necessarily say a pair but I mean I guess these would be the closest in
07:26proximity one another you can see that they are belonging to basically to well
07:30I guess that side of the figures body he does also have a mirror flip of those as
07:34he has a gripping hand although this one here is a closed fist so you're probably
07:38not gonna end up ever end up using it the figure does has the more suitable
07:41gripping hand this hand is actually more suitable because it does actually have
07:45it separate from his thumb sometimes when you get a hand that's holding
07:48things the thumb is already molded to the rest of the fingers this one
07:52actually is suitable for holding the handle of the chainsaw of course he does
07:56also come include with a severed head of melody melody boy I was just hoping that
08:00she was gonna be getting at some point in the movie I wanted to bring in at
08:03least the melody we also got from the this is the exquisite super or the
08:07exquisite mini series of melody you can see like the heads while very similar in
08:11features there's definitely a different expression on her face she seems almost
08:15more surprised on the exquisite mini release of melodies head and this one is
08:18definitely more gorier presentation of her where she's got a little bit of like
08:21blood or entrails dripping down from the bottom of her neck it's a gruesome
08:25looking sight but again they attach the exact same way I will say this though the
08:29hands are tricky to kind of navigate around first of all you have to deal
08:33with these pegs the pegs themselves I mean I'm probably gonna be keeping this
08:36hand on you anyways on for the for the chainsaw let's just say for this I'm
08:40gonna remove the hands one of the also things you may notice as well is that
08:43there's the form stain there's the hand stain and dividing in the middle there
08:47unfortunately is an unfinished plastic peg wish that they could have used
08:51something similar in color so it just looked like it was continuous again you
08:55just gonna want to hold on to the pegs and just kind of remove the hands find
08:59a hand that you want to use so let's grab let's grab the chainsaw holding
09:03hand which happens to be this one right here now when you are putting in place
09:07this peg moves around frequently oh that was a lot easier I was expecting
09:11generally what you end up having this happen and it's happened as well with my
09:14Rambos when you put the hand against the peg it usually pops the hinge or moves
09:19the peg this way and then of course you try to do it this way ends up pushing
09:22the peg the opposite way that was a lot easier than expected so now we've got
09:26the hands that we want to use let's look at the rest of Leatherface's
09:29accessories again as a side touch though I really love the fact they included
09:32Melody's severed head just gruesome certainly wasn't something I was
09:36expecting to see I was kind of always really kind of hoping man I really hope
09:40that Melody gets it she never got it she never got it and then I mean obviously
09:43I'm giving away a little bit of spoilers if you haven't seen the 2022 Leatherface
09:46but the fact that we get ourselves a severed head I'm sure you probably could
09:49put the two and two together if you end up seeing the movie oh hey there's the
09:52girl with the curly hair and then you already know because this guy
09:55unfortunately spoiling for you spoiling I'm sure nobody know is the fact the
10:00figure comes included with the cleaver the cleaver has luckily no blood on it
10:03in fact actually both the cleaver and the mallets have no blood whatsoever on
10:08them it's only really the chainsaw that has a stain on the blade but you can
10:12also use the blood effects that come also included this figure so he gets a
10:16couple of ones more specifically like if we look at this one it's like a
10:19translucent red plastic it's fairly soft plastic too and this one is specifically
10:23designed for the mallet so if you want to just clip it around the mallet what
10:27you basically do though is if you look at it there's a there's a little
10:30indentation so it kind of looks like a you you basically take the mallet head
10:35and then you just slide it up the back so much harder of course when I start
10:41talking about it just slide it up the back and it fits just underneath like
10:45this it's more friction than anything else you may find yourself a couple of
10:50times when you bang this this falls off quite easily he's got that as a blood
10:55effect and then for the cleaver the cleaver has well he's got a couple of
10:59ones this is can be actually really shared between the chainsaw and the
11:03cleaver but he's got this piece right here that just fits on the end of the
11:07cleaver like that so it looks like Leatherface has been busy with it of
11:11course this can also be used with the chainsaw I suppose you could also use
11:14no you can't really use this one this is way too big this is way too excessive
11:17there's no way yeah how much blood is gonna come from a cleaver like this this
11:22one is definitely designed more for the chainsaw so while we still have these
11:25two the much more larger waved effect of the blood and also the smaller one you
11:30can also use either one of these for the chainsaw so the chainsaw itself I wanted
11:34to bring in the one we got from the exquisite mini so you can see it's a
11:37little bit lighter of a green it's much dingier looking chainsaw and there's a
11:41lot more blood in the smaller size of it I think the coloring is a little bit
11:45more accurate to this because obviously this is a chainsaw you would have used
11:47from the 74 film and then there's of course there's blood splattered all this
11:50he finds this in the wall I guess when Leatherface need to start getting busy
11:54and killing people broke open the wall and of course he pulled out retrieved
11:57his trusty chainsaw so there's a little bit of blood there's a fair bit of age
12:01also to the actual teeth it's a really neat looking chainsaw but again if you
12:04wanted to you can take yourself those blood effects we'll start with the
12:07smallest one first again there's that little little canal you can probably see
12:11right there you just run it up the teeth of the chainsaw just fit it in place so
12:15it looks like Leatherface has made contact you want a little bit more of an
12:18excessive blood effect when you take this piece and this piece just slides up
12:23the chainsaw I want to make sure I've got it facing the right way that just
12:26plugs in like this I guess it probably would make the most sense the blood is
12:29waving backwards so it just plugs in so it looks like Leatherface has swung down
12:32the chainsaw like that pretty cool pretty gory pretty neat if you wanted it
12:37if you did by the way want to get the chainsaw into his hands all you really
12:41have to do of course is take the one handle of it just plug it around his
12:44hand now bend his elbow now here's one problem I'm gonna have with this figure
12:48and I'm gonna mention this a couple of times is the way they've used the
12:50material for his shirt it does then cause problems and especially if you
12:55want to get this for where he's holding the chainsaw bending the elbows is not
12:58the easiest thing to pull off the material the material that they're using
13:03for his shirt is okay on the back here when there's not all this extra blood on
13:07it but the moment they start adding this blood it almost turned the material into
13:11like paper and it just feels it feels like that kind of material that I would
13:15be so worrisome of that it's gonna eventually break something also too is
13:19that the handle of the chainsaw is really soft and plastic so you're really
13:22having to fight the whole time trying to get this around his hand just pry the
13:26fingers out a little bit get that in there I really wish this wasn't as soft
13:31of a plastic if they just had made it a little harder of a plastic it just would
13:35have been so much easier to get this into his hands again you just pry this
13:38open get that in there there we go all right and then hopefully if it holds on
13:45for dear life we get the other hand around the handle yeah this chainsaw I
13:50like the look of it I just don't like that they're using such soft plastic for
13:55the handle it just makes things so difficult up I'm gonna come back to it
13:58we're gonna come back to it probably even in final looks I'll have the figure
14:00displayed with the chainsaw in his hands I mean it does fit into his hands the
14:03problem with it though is again like you're using such soft plastic for the
14:06handle and then you're also having to cope again with one of the big talking
14:09points I'm gonna mention about this figure is the use of this material I
14:12guess before we talk about his outfit let's talk a little bit about his face
14:16now whether you like the look of leather face from the 2022 film I know my finger
14:20was in the way of things it certainly is a much gorier looking leather face he
14:24literally just takes the skin off his kind of stand-in mother just slaps on
14:28his face I don't even know really what's holding it in place you would think even
14:31with rainwater it would be enough for this to slide off his face but leather
14:35faces mask is literally just stuck on skin it's quite excessively bloody
14:40though and it's a I liked it I think the more times I've seen the 2022 film the
14:44more I've warmed up to the idea that leather face is wearing a mask that
14:47looks like this it's not just sewn together pieces I would imagine
14:50hopefully if we do get ourselves a follow-up film leather face is probably
14:53gonna go back to his sewing sewing machine and probably start sewing
14:56together some skin pieces much cooler mask I definitely would say would be
15:00happening probably in a sequel but I think it gets the job done for what
15:03leather face you really be it's gotten really got a nice stretched skin look to
15:06it it's very slick to the touch similar to his hands and there's a lot more red
15:10here as well you can still make out his eyes you can also make out his mouth you
15:13can also make out the fact he's got this long strand of hair here on the front
15:16this strand is actually separate from everything else that's around it you
15:20just want to be careful when you're moving the face around that you don't
15:22actually clip this by accident the face almost does look like you'd be able to
15:26remove it now I've tried to kind of peel it back a bit just to see is there
15:30an Easter egg hidden underneath and from what I can see there isn't I think if
15:33anything if I was to be successful to peel this off but well probably what I
15:37would end up finding underneath is an unfinished face but what it is it's a
15:41good-looking leather face long hair there obviously on the back there as
15:44well I actually liked leather face in the film just big towering brutes here's
15:49where I have a problem with this figure is the way they've used them as to this
15:52material it isn't so much really actually his apron his apron is if you
15:55can look at it as kind of a soft nylon material in a way I kind of wish they
15:59could have used something similar to that to his shirt I mean it has a bit of
16:03a sheen to it you can see there's all these blood stains on the front of it
16:05and it looks like an old aged apron the biggest thing though is when you're
16:10looking at a shirt now if you if I'm showing you the spots that don't have
16:13blood on them you can probably see how that material freely moves just looks
16:18like a very thin kind of shirt material then what they've done though is they've
16:22added all this blood over top of it and they just happen to have added I feel
16:26way too much around the areas of his elbows because they've added it right
16:29here in here what it ends up now turning the material into is it almost feels
16:33like almost feels like paper and it's kind of hard hopefully to show you guys
16:37this in the review but the material of this now kind of feels like it's a
16:40little bit more brittle this is a concern of mine obviously when it comes
16:44to bending his elbows the figure does seem to have double hinges in his elbows
16:47but bending it and having this for long periods of time I wonder if this is
16:51gonna start to split the plastic split the material right here again it's not
16:55even a plastic it's it's a material but by adding this paint over top of it I
16:59think they've made the material brittle is one of my concerns if we lift
17:03actually up the apron you can kind of see he does wear a shirt and tie
17:07underneath it's actually funny that he is wearing more of a classic looking tie
17:10you just don't see it because most times got the apron over top of it of course
17:14on the back he's got that tied up too so I suppose if you wanted to you could
17:17take this off he has very much the same similar colors to Texas Chainsmasters
17:20three leather face brown in the top brown in the slacks he also has as well
17:24not necessarily cowboy boots but you got he has himself sort of like I don't like
17:28military boots one or one is tucked out one is actually got the cuff of the
17:32pants tucked over top of it the actual soles of the shoes look good as well
17:36there's no real mud caked on the bottom of it but overall like it's a painted
17:40well figure my only concerns really again is comes it comes down to like
17:44really the elbow articulation does that now limits a little more of the mobility
17:47of what you can actually do with the figure and by adding so much blood that
17:51they've added to it is it gonna cause like stability or like structural
17:54integrity to this material because again like it's fine on the back here it's
17:58nice and soft but the moment you add paint over top of it I think you're
18:02gonna start causing this fabric to start splitting especially if you have them
18:05always bent in an elbow pose like this all the time now for the figures
18:09articulation going back to leather faces head the head is gonna be on a ball
18:12joint so it moves back and forth it moves up it moves down so if you want to
18:15have like a brooding look you can do that also as well shoulders come out but
18:20they only go out at least from what I've been able to see at about that far I
18:23wouldn't fully commit to the idea of a 90-degree angle bent does seem like it's
18:27possible but I can't seem to get any further past this point the arms move
18:31forward and they move back but you can see there's a little bit more
18:34restrictions it gets really tight here really quick on the tops of his
18:37shoulders that moving his arms forward and back like this you can definitely
18:40feel like there's some material holding things back as a swivel at the bicep the
18:44figure does have what I think to be still a double hinge on the elbow but
18:47again like moving this around it just seems like there's a lot of stuff
18:51holding back this arm from going to its full full potential really the upper
18:56torso is gonna be on a ball joint if we get behind the curtain so to speak the
18:59legs actually do split out you can move them forward you can move them back
19:02there's a swivel at the top of the thigh what again seems to be a double hinge on
19:06the knee and then you've got a decent range of articulation for his ankle
19:09where you can move back and forth you can also rock it as well back and forth
19:12this way the figure from a cosmetic standpoint looks good my only concern
19:16though is construction of it it is one of those things to like I had mentioned
19:20this when we also looked at judge dread I think it's a suitable enough material
19:24that they've used but the way they've also made the material has made the
19:27figure potentially something that's gonna be problematic down the road by
19:30adding sort of again all the paint around the areas of his elbows I I feel
19:34like if anything adding the blood all around the elbows probably would have
19:38been a smarter thing to do leaving pretty much like the elbow untouched
19:42what I think added a little bit more mobility and durability to the material
19:47by adding it where they added it I just feel like there's restrictions not only
19:51to the elbow bend but I also feel like could cause problems down the road with
19:54a material potentially splitting the figure as a whole again looks good
19:57bringing back in the exquisite mini version of Leatherface which again we've
20:01already looked at and covered on this channel if you guys want to have a look
20:03at that feel free give it a gander but again the only other thing I would say
20:07though if you are looking for screen accuracy and especially height even
20:11though I didn't have I really I really was looking I spent a good two hours
20:14looking all around my basement and I knew at one point I knew exactly where
20:19the box was because it was kind of moving some stuff around I had taken
20:21Leatherface off the shelf I put him back in a box sure enough I knew this guy was
20:25being was being sent my way and I definitely set aside then the 74
20:29Leatherface from Mezco specifically specifically for this review of course
20:34at the time comes as it always be the case I can't find the box at all but
20:38again just to kind of give you guys an idea like if to compare the 112th
20:41collective Dick Warlock Michael Myers Dick Warlock is far from being six foot
20:46four Mark Burnham though was so if you're looking for again like having
20:49these figures being accurately scaled in size you might be a little bit
20:53disappointed with the offering we're getting here from Haya originally my
20:56idea was to have Leatherface dual wielding his chainsaw because as you saw
21:00in this review I did struggle a bit because unfortunately the handle of the
21:03chainsaw is way too soft of a plastic when you eventually do get it in one of
21:07his hands the plastic is just so soft it ends up slipping out of his hand when
21:10you try to put it in the other chainsaw though wielding in one hand too cool of
21:14an accessory to leave off I have the severed head of melody in his other I
21:18know obviously there's a lot of annoying characters in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre
21:22lore melody sits pretty high in that list I'm glad to see she got hers at the
21:25end fitting though enough that on the end of this review I decided to have him
21:29displayed with it and it was also smart obviously on Haya's part that they had
21:33the hand already attached on to the severed head of melody instead of trying
21:36to get the hand to hold the head it just wouldn't have worked the chainsaw as you
21:41can see also does have the blood splatter effect that went with the
21:43longer one because of course looks like Leatherface just got a fresh kill the
21:47blood effect does attach to all of the accessories the cleaver obviously the
21:51chainsaw and the mallet some of them attach a little bit better than others
21:55and one of those attachments too that's not the most secure of attachments so if
21:59you do end up banging this or you move this around you might find it falling
22:03off a little bit too much but I guess it's something you can easily fix if
22:06you're one that is a little squeamish towards blood then maybe this
22:09Leatherface does not apply to you unfortunately though he's got blood
22:12everywhere except for one of the more crucial places the figure doesn't have
22:15it on his wrist pegs now I get that they would have just used the same plastic
22:19from the casting but they should have really stained it too because
22:22unfortunately if you have the hands attached onto the arms that normally
22:25that's the way the hands work unfortunately you can see that the pegs
22:28are a little bare of plastic speaking of blood and how much excessively he has
22:32it I wish of all the places that he has as much blood the elbow areas weren't
22:36one of them but the material itself is fine and good for his shirt the moment
22:40though you add the blood around the areas of his elbows it turns that
22:44material into almost feeling like paper I was trying to think of what it
22:47reminded me of and I think I now know it reminds me of those tear proof envelopes
22:52if you've ever bought a tear proof envelope and the whole thing that they
22:54market this as you can't tear the envelope it has sort of a paper feel to
22:59it but it almost has like a paper plastic feel that's what sort of the
23:03material has now turned into because they put the paint over that area I mean
23:07don't get me wrong the paint should have been on everywhere on the figures body
23:10Leatherface doesn't think at all that he's gonna stop in between kills to go
23:13wash himself up he should be excessively bloody I feel like that might be one
23:18area where he didn't need as much all in all though from head to toe is a cool
23:21looking Leatherface again like scaling might be a bit of an issue for this guy
23:26if you are one that is stickler for sizing then obviously he shouldn't be
23:30the same size as Sylvester Stallone's Rambo if you can overlook though that
23:34one part it's a pretty cool Leatherface to add to your collection big thank you
23:39once again to the folks over at Haya toys that did provide this sample the
23:42brand new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 this was the exquisite super series
23:47Leatherface again this guy is slated to drop the third quarter of 2024 most
23:51sites still have a pre-or up right now for $89.99 what do you guys think of him

24:03think it's certainly one of the worst some of the prequels may have him beat
24:06but I don't think for what it is I've seen it now three times I didn't mind
24:10the 2022 film at all I do hope if anything we did get a follow-up film
