00:00
Good morning from the Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03
This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09
We can see here in the latest satellite images,
00:12
the thick clouds in a large part of Luzon
00:16
are the continuation of the Southwest Monsoon.
00:20
At the moment, we expect that for the next 24 hours,
00:24
there will be a high chance of clouds and rain
00:30
accompanied by storms in the extreme northern Luzon,
00:33
in the areas of Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
00:36
Here in Metro Manila, and in a large part of our country,
00:40
we expect that the rainfall will gradually decrease
00:44
as compared to the rainfall we experienced in the past few days.
00:48
So generally, we expect fair weather conditions,
00:51
mostly cloudy conditions in the morning.
00:53
But we expect that throughout the day,
00:55
the chance of continuous rainfall will be low.
00:58
But there are still chances of thunderstorms,
01:00
especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:04
At the moment, we are also monitoring a low-pressure area
01:07
outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:10
It is located in the northeastern boundary of our PIR.
01:14
We do not expect it to be a typhoon
01:17
for the next few days,
01:19
but we expect that it will have an effect in our country.
01:23
At the moment, we are also monitoring another cloud cluster
01:27
in the northern part of Luzon, inside our PIR.
01:31
It also has no effect in our country,
01:33
but we continue to monitor it
01:35
because it is possible that it will be a low-pressure area
01:38
for the next few days.
01:41
As for the weather conditions here in Luzon,
01:45
because of the effects of the strong winds,
01:47
we still expect a high chance of rain
01:50
in the areas of Batanes and Mabuyan Islands.
01:54
In a large part of Luzon,
01:56
especially here in the western section of Luzon,
01:58
it is clearer than what we expected today,
02:01
that the rainfall will be reduced.
02:03
We will experience hot and humid weather again,
02:07
aside from the chances of heavy rainfall
02:10
that will cause flooding and landslides
02:12
of localized thunderstorms.
02:13
Maximum temperature forecast,
02:14
for the area outside of Manila today,
02:16
it is possible that it will reach 31°C.
02:18
32°C here in Taguigarao,
02:20
and 22°C in Baguio City.
02:23
Maximum temperature forecast,
02:25
for the area outside of Manila today,
02:27
it is possible that it will reach 32°C.
02:30
32°C here in the area of Legazpi,
02:32
and 31°C in Tagaytay.
02:37
Here in the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:41
we expect generally fair weather conditions today,
02:44
and the chances of thunderstorm activity are still high.
02:48
These are the sudden and sudden rainfall
02:50
that will reach yesterday until tonight.
02:53
Maximum temperature forecast,
02:54
for the Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa today,
02:57
it is possible that it will reach 32°C.
03:00
32°C here in the areas of Iloilo and Cebu,
03:03
and 33°C in Tacloban.
03:07
Maximum temperature forecast,
03:08
for Cagayan de Oro today,
03:10
it is possible that it will reach 32°C.
03:12
33°C here in Davao,
03:15
and 33°C in Zamboanga.
03:18
In terms of the sea,
03:20
currently,
03:21
we do not have a high gale warning
03:23
here in the western seaboards of Luzon.
03:25
It is still different for our fellow fishermen.
03:29
Because of the large area of Luzon,
03:31
it is still possible for us to experience
03:33
moderate to high sea level.
03:37
This is our Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential Forecast.
03:40
This is one of the products
03:42
that shows the possibility of a storm
03:46
within our monitoring domain.
03:48
We can see here
03:50
that this is the first circulation that we are monitoring.
03:53
There is a possible low-pressure area
03:55
within our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
03:57
This is possibly associated with the cloud clusters
04:02
that we are currently monitoring.
04:05
Within the next days,
04:06
for week 1,
04:07
today until September 12,
04:09
this cloud cluster is possible to be a low-pressure area.
04:12
There is also a chance for a storm to occur
04:15
within the next days.
04:16
We can see in this diagram
04:18
that it will remain far from our mainland.
04:21
It will generally move northeastward
04:23
towards our country,
04:25
towards the northern boundary
04:26
of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
04:29
The second possible weather disturbance
04:33
within week 1,
04:34
we can see here
04:36
that this is possible to occur
04:37
outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
04:40
There is also a chance for a storm to occur
04:42
and it will generally move northwestward
04:45
towards our PR for week 1.
04:47
By the end of week 2,
04:50
we expect it to move generally northwestward.
04:54
It is already inside our Philippine Area of Responsibility
04:58
but we can see here
04:59
that it is far from our mainland
05:02
and it will generally move northeastward
05:05
towards the Taiwan area
05:07
or the northern boundary
05:08
of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
05:11
The third possible weather disturbance
05:14
for this forecast period,
05:16
it is possible to occur here in the West Philippine Sea
05:19
in the northern part of our country.
05:21
There is a small chance
05:22
of a weather disturbance
05:24
to be a storm.
05:25
For week 1 and week 2
05:27
or at least for the next two weeks,
05:29
we expect that
05:30
even though there are possible circulations,
05:33
there are possible storms to occur
05:34
that entered our PR,
05:36
it will remain far from our mainland.
05:41
But if there are significant changes
05:43
in our forecast track scenario,
05:45
we will stick to the updates
05:47
issued by Pag-asa
05:49
because this Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential
05:51
is released by Pag-asa once a day.
05:55
For our forecast weather conditions
05:57
for the next few days,
05:59
this cloud cluster
06:00
inside our Philippine Area of Responsibility
06:02
is possible to be a low-pressure area
06:05
for the next few days.
06:07
This is due to the possible slight enhancement
06:10
of our Southwest Monsoon
06:12
or Hanging Habagat in the next days.
06:14
Meanwhile, this is a low-pressure area
06:16
outside our PR.
06:17
We do not expect it to be a storm
06:19
and it will remain far from our country
06:21
and it will also have no effect
06:23
on any part of our mainland.
06:26
Starting tomorrow, Sunday, September 8,
06:29
a large part of our country
06:31
will experience fair weather conditions,
06:33
improving conditions in the areas
06:35
of Batanes and Pabuyan Islands.
06:37
However, chances of thunderstorm activity
06:40
are still possible,
06:42
especially in the late afternoon to evening.
06:44
As for September 9,
06:47
sorry, September 9 to September 11,
06:50
from Monday to Wednesday,
06:52
we expect scattered rains and thunderstorms
06:54
to occur in the areas of Ilocos Region,
06:56
Zambales, and Bataan.
06:58
As for the mentioned areas,
07:00
we are still prepared and alert
07:02
to the chances of flooding and landslides
07:04
if we will continue to experience
07:06
heavy rains.
07:08
In the past few days,
07:10
we have experienced heavy rains
07:12
and landslides
07:14
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
07:16
Zambales, and Bataan.
07:18
However, we are still prepared
07:20
and alert to the chances
07:22
of flooding and landslides
07:24
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
07:26
Zambales, and Bataan.
07:28
However, we are still prepared
07:30
and alert to the chances
07:32
of flooding and landslides
07:34
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
07:36
Zambales, and Bataan.
07:38
However, we are still prepared
07:40
and alert to the chances
07:42
of flooding and landslides
07:44
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
07:46
Zambales, and Bataan.
07:48
However, we are still prepared
07:50
and alert to the chances
07:52
of flooding and landslides
07:54
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
07:56
Zambales, and Bataan.
07:58
However, we are still prepared
08:00
and alert to the chances
08:02
of flooding and landslides
08:04
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
08:06
Zambales, and Bataan.
08:08
However, we are still prepared
08:10
and alert to the chances
08:12
of flooding and landslides
08:14
in the areas of Ilocos Region,
08:16
Zambales, and Bataan.
08:18
I'm Don Villanil,
08:20
for Pag-asa, Weather Forecasting Center.
