00:17We would usually get two pairs of Wrangler jeans, which took the rest of the school year

00:21to break in, if ever.

00:24Pullover shirts with zippers would be next, followed by a few Dayglo button-up shirts

00:28from the Joanne Worley collection.

00:31Sears introduced a line of children's clothing that took all of the guesswork out of the

00:36equation.

00:38They were called Garinimals.

00:40Garinimals were definitely red, blue, yellow, or green, and were associated with specific

00:45zoo animals.

00:47The point was to buy blue alligator pants to match the blue alligator shirt, or the

00:51yellow giraffe top to coordinate with the yellow giraffe bottoms.

00:56Anyone caught wearing red monkey Garinimal pants with green froggy shirts would face

01:00the wrath in September.

01:02Garinimals as a fashion statement only lasted a few years, as muted colors that existed

01:07in nature became the hippest thing on shelves.

01:11Sears itself would also take a hit with shoppers, but not before giving us a chance to give

01:16the Wranglers a much-needed breather.
