Wales were overpowered by France late on as the home side were beaten 45 to 24 in Cardiff on Sunday. The loss leaves Wales with no wins in the tournament and bottom of the table before their final match against Italy next weekend. A loss in the last game would be the first wooden spoon for Wales since 2003.

First Minister hopeful Vaughn Gething has to the ongoing inquiry that missing WhatsApp messages relating to covid are ‘a matter of real embarrassment’. A number of minister have been accused of using an auto-delete function on the app. Mark Drakeford will speak to the inquiry this week after refusing to answer questions in the Senedd.

A tramline in Cardiff is set to take a massive step forward as a design and build partner is about to be named. Councillors will be asked to approve the appointment on the 21st March, with the first phase planned between Butetown and the city centre, with up to 100 million pounds already set for the plan.
