A Fijian rugby player has been jailed for three separate attacks on women in bars in Cardiff last year. 37 year old Api Ratuniyawara was in the city with the Barbarians rugby team, and has been found guilty on two counts of assault by penetration and one of sexual assault. He was sentenced to 2 years and 10 months.

A teenager was seen pushing another boy into a river shortly before he drowned, an inquest into the death of 13 year old Christopher Kapessa has heard. Christopher, who couldn’t swim, was killed in the river Cynon in Fernhill in 2019. Other children attempted to rescue him, but he could not be saved.

Holiday homes in Wales could soon face tighter regulations as the Welsh government attempt to improve safety standards. Legislation requiring short term holiday lets to be registered could be in place by the end of the year, similar to schemes already in place in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
