The two boys, whose deaths in Ely caused rioting on the streets, died of head injuries, an inquest has been told. Kyrees Sullivan, 16 and Harvey Evans, 15, died following a chase with police, but the force said only the electric bike which the boys were riding was involved in the crash.

Labour MP Geraint Davies has been suspended by his party after allegations of ‘unacceptable behaviour’. The Member of Parliament for Swansea West is accused of subjecting younger staff members to unwanted sexual attention, but he told Politico he did not recognise the allegations.

The owners of the Ffos y Fran coal mine in Merthyr have been given their final closing date, after a long fight to stay open. The company in charge of the UK’s largest open cast coal mine must cease operations at the site by the end of July. Restoration discussions for the land are now set to take place.
