00:00 I was unlucky at school to suffer from bullying,

00:05 school bullying.

00:07 And it was something that didn't exist at the time,

00:11 I mean, it was absolutely not recognized.

00:13 For two years, there was a particular student,

00:20 but he wasn't the only one,

00:22 who really made my life hell.

00:24 I was in fifth and fourth grade.

00:26 And my father would take me to school by car.

00:30 I was praying that we would have an accident.

00:33 Because I was so scared of what was going to happen.

00:37 And it was an insidious violence.

00:41 Because, in fact, there has never been violence in itself,

00:43 but it was the fear of violence.

00:45 It was threats, it was "you'll see, we'll find you, we'll get you".

00:49 Plus, I was a year younger than everyone else.

00:51 So I was a kid because I had skipped a year.

00:54 So, in fact, I was terrified.

00:56 And so, for the speech at Sevaz,

01:00 I was able to talk about that.

01:01 And I was able to talk about how, as a kid, I had seen Tarzan.

01:05 And that, during that period,

01:09 I was shouting "Tarzan" in the surrounding countryside,

01:13 hoping that Tarzan would come and save me from that.

01:15 That he would come to school and take me,

01:17 and that's it, he would come and save me.

01:19 And in the speech, I said, "Yes, Tarzan never came."

01:23 But sometimes you have to be your own Tarzan.

01:26 Sometimes you have to face those who harass you,

01:29 and not let them do it.

01:32 And if you are a silent and passive witness,

01:39 you are an accomplice.
