Mariah Carey dismisses other divas

Alleged superdiva Mariah Carey believes that there are too many divas in the music industry and says that she has no time for them.

The international star said: "I don't really follow every new act - they come out constantly. There are so many, its often hard to keep track, and sometimes they're here today and gone tomorrow. "

However, Mariah conceded that there are some acts that she keeps track of adding: "I admire my friends, like Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj - people who seem destined to be doing this for a living with longevity."

Carey defended herself against claims that she is a diva saying: "I'm a strong woman who works extremely hard to be able to have my life the way I want it. So, if that makes me a diva, then okay."

The singer, who is currently pregnant with twins, appeared on UK breakfast show GMTV recently and was accused of unreasonable behaviour by presenter Kate Garraway including having a member of staff walk backwards in front of her at all times in case she fell over.
