Transcript
00:00When the sun goes down, rage levels go up.
00:21See what happens when things go bump in the night.
00:36These are the top ten most shocking after-hour moments of road wars.
00:50Kicking off our countdown at number ten, thou shall not pass.
00:59It's late at night, and Andre Teran, whose car is equipped with multiple cameras for his
01:04job as a rideshare driver, is heading back home to New Jersey from a casino in New York
01:09State.
01:10It was a dead quiet night, like zero cars on the road.
01:16I was maybe one or two miles from my exit, and the semi-truck passed me.
01:26And so I tried to pass him on the left.
01:29He merged into the left wing.
01:36So I hit my right blinker, went to the right to pass him on the right, and he went to the
01:40right.
01:44So I saw an opening there where he was fully in the right lane.
01:49And then I hit my blinker and tried to speed past him.
02:05The semi swerves to the left, aggressively blocking him from passing, finally forcing Andre
02:13off the road and striking his car from behind.
02:19I got rear-ended, spun the rear out, and I got drugged down the road for maybe 100 meters.
02:25I didn't do anything with this guy.
02:26I don't know, maybe he didn't like the way I was driving.
02:29I have no idea.
02:32Thankfully, Andre only suffers minor injuries.
02:36No charges are filed.
02:38It made me think about my son's future.
02:42Because if I was gone, then he's now a father to her.
02:47It would just be, you know, horrific.
02:52Pedestrians have the right of way, but seeking retribution after somebody crosses the line?
02:57Debatable.
02:58And at number nine, motorcycle mishap.
03:01In Virginia Beach, Virginia, a motorcyclist scoots between a stopped car and a pedestrian,
03:12who seems to be walking towards the car, a risky move by both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian.
03:22The biker continues riding for a few blocks, and then gets held up in some traffic, which
03:28allows the pedestrian he had a close call with to catch up to him.
03:34Go hand me over.
03:35No.
03:36Huh?
03:37What?
03:38You stop.
03:39You stop.
03:40What you're going to f***ing drop him, f***ing you.
03:42You about to hit my wife.
03:43You stop.
03:44F*** that camera.
03:45I'm about to f*** you up.
03:46You almost f***ing run me over.
03:48The lambasting continues.
03:49What the f***ing bears a kid walking in the f***ing road?
03:52It didn't f***ing react the way after that.
03:54Until the motorcyclist makes one final plea.
03:56Please, sir.
03:57Huh?
03:58Please, sir.
03:59I'm not a bad kid.
04:00I'm just trying to get home.
04:01Did you learn your f***ing lesson?
04:02Yes, ma'am.
04:03You going to f*** out your f***ing mask again?
04:04I apologize to my wife.
04:06I don't want to wait.
04:07Yes, sir.
04:08Apologize.
04:09The incident ends with a physical altercation avoided and a lesson hopefully learned.
04:21What you are about to see is a rideshare driver's worst nightmare at number eight, Locked and
04:27Loaded.
04:28A rideshare driver in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is pulling up to a requested location to pick
04:35up a rider.
04:38Little does he know, it could be the last pickup he ever makes.
04:44What's up, PJ?
04:46PJ?
04:47PJ?
04:48PJ.
04:49PJ.
04:50That's what I'm looking for.
04:52PJ.
04:53A young man has approached his car.
04:56And he's not very friendly.
04:59I'm just picking somebody else up here.
05:02Nope.
05:03All right.
05:04We'll drive on.
05:06What?
05:07Unfortunately for the rideshare driver, that unpleasant interaction is a sign of more trouble
05:13ahead.
05:16Just a few seconds later...
05:21PJ, right?
05:22PJ?
05:23PJ?
05:24PJ?
05:25PJ?
05:26PJ?
05:27PJ?
05:28PJ?
05:29PJ?
05:30PJ?
05:31I'm playing no house of these copies.
05:32I'm playing.
05:33I'm playing?
05:34Seriously?
05:35Get the out.
05:37It isn't PJ, which understandably irritates the driver.
05:42But things are about to get so much worse...
05:45Get the out.
05:47Yo, watch your-
05:48Okay, well, watch it....
05:49Look, I have no problem.
05:51Walk, look at me.
05:53You know, watch your mouth, man.
05:54No problem with you.
05:55Yo, I've got no problem with you, but I'm trying to do a job.
05:58Oh, shut yourÚ¾?
05:59It's got your h!
06:00A friend of the young man, armed with a pistol, is outside the driver's side window.
06:13The man in the car is also armed.
06:30The driver gets away with his life intact, something that was very much in question just seconds ago.
06:47The driver immediately goes to the police.
06:50Thanks to the recording, both assailants are eventually arrested and plead guilty to robbery and using and carrying a firearm.
07:00The driver is now being pursued by him.
07:28Later.
07:30And despite pulling a U-turn to get away,
07:33Really?
07:34finds himself suddenly cut off.
07:37Stop.
07:39Can I f*** you with this?
07:42Fearing for his safety, the pursued driver backs away.
07:46But the offended truck driver is relentless.
07:50Will you f*** off? Will you stop?
07:52And seemingly irrational.
07:54What the f*** are you doing?
07:56What are you doing?
07:59The furious pickup driver gets out and takes aim.
08:04With his finger.
08:05You f***ing psycho.
08:07Dude.
08:09As a raging driver jogs back to his truck,
08:13the defending motorist takes the opportunity to get away for good.
08:16Get the f*** away from me, dude.
08:22The furious finger gunner is tracked down,
08:25in charge with criminal mischief,
08:27and making a terroristic threat.
08:29And this being Texas,
08:31both drivers are lucky
08:32that neither one of them pulled out something much more dangerous
08:35than a finger.
08:38Like the menacing projectiles in our next After Hours battle.
08:42Flying in at number six,
08:44Attack of the Tacos.
08:47In Midland, Texas.
08:50Rideshare driver Maria Salgado
08:52examines the aftermath
08:54of a very unpleasant experience with her last fare.
08:58I had gotten a request to pick someone up at a bar.
09:02The male who ordered it
09:03sat right next to me in the front passenger seat,
09:06and then the female sat on that side,
09:08and another male sat in the back.
09:10And before we could leave,
09:12another guy and another woman approached the vehicle.
09:16But Maria can't fit the extra riders in her car.
09:20So the man who ordered the ride
09:21agrees to proceed without them.
09:24But when they reach their destination,
09:26one of the passengers...
09:28That's all yours.
09:29...is rough on the car when exiting.
09:31Whoa.
09:33Whoa.
09:34Scratching at my car, man.
09:36...while the woman in the back seat
09:37refuses to exit.
09:39Honestly, I think you need to go back and get them.
09:43She wanted me to go back
09:45for the other two individuals,
09:47and I had already accepted another ride.
09:49Honestly, I think you need to go back and get them.
09:52I need you to exit my vehicle, please.
09:54Exit my vehicle.
09:55No worries.
09:56Because this trip is done and over with.
10:00Maria is not prepared
10:01for what happens next.
10:03This is my vehicle.
10:04This is my personal vehicle,
10:05and I want you to exit the vehicle.
10:15Whoa.
10:17You're on camera, lady.
10:18You're on camera.
10:20I was pretty in shock.
10:21One, it's just everything crosses your mind
10:23at that point.
10:24Okay, now I have food all over my car.
10:27I'm calling the cops right now.
10:30Maria attempts to hold the taco tosser accountable.
10:33I had to go to the police station
10:35and show them the video
10:37and try to, you know, honestly,
10:40press charges on her for assault.
10:41Assault by tacos, but assault.
10:43And nothing came of it.
10:45Like I said, they just didn't have enough evidence.
10:47But as confounding as it is
10:51that the offenders are not held responsible,
10:54Maria still drives a rideshare,
10:56albeit with a slightly different attitude.
10:59If that happened again,
11:01they'd get a different version of me.
11:03We're halfway through the top 10 most shocking
11:06after-hour moments of road wars.
11:09Taking mass transit can be stressful
11:10and destructive.
11:12Landing at number five,
11:14road rage retribution.
11:17Yo, what is this man doing?
11:20Come on, hey, get me over.
11:22It's like you ran past every bus stop.
11:24Man, babe, I'm your north.
11:26You piece of.
11:28An angry New York City commuter
11:30is in a face-off with a bus.
11:33He's claiming the bus driver
11:35intentionally refused to pick him up,
11:38repeatedly.
11:40And now he's doing as much damage as he can
11:43to the bus itself.
11:45He's having a long day.
11:46Yo, he's trying to break the...
11:48Oh, no!
11:50Wow, yo, he's breaking the bus apart.
11:53I take you 22 blocks
11:55and you wouldn't stop.
11:57you.
11:58You piece of.
12:02Yo, this is wild.
12:04Oh, my God.
12:06By the time police arrive,
12:08the furious would-be passenger
12:09has fled the scene,
12:11but not before doing nearly $2,000 worth of damage
12:15Oh, no!
12:16to the bus.
12:18Thus far,
12:19the man has not been identified by police.
12:21F*** you!
12:25Purposely hitting other vehicles with yours
12:27is the main objective in bumper cars
12:29and apparently in this parking lot
12:32in at number four,
12:33full steam ahead.
12:35She done hissed her s***
12:36and she can't get out.
12:39Outside a bar in Arkansas,
12:41a man records a woman
12:42who appears to have gotten herself
12:44into a real parking jam.
12:47You got to move this blue car
12:49before you can get out.
12:50But she doesn't seem interested
12:52in unsolicited advice.
12:56Oh, my God.
13:00Oh, my God.
13:03The woman's exit strategy
13:05crushes the white car's bumper.
13:07Oh, my God.
13:09But she's still
13:10not out of this jam.
13:12She just hit a Benz.
13:14She just hit a Benz.
13:16And yet her method
13:17remains the same.
13:19I'm trying to go viral, bro.
13:20She can hit this Benz, bro.
13:22Oh, my God.
13:24Watch out, Anthony.
13:26Watch out, watch out.
13:27Oh!
13:30Oh!
13:31I got it all!
13:33You're about to go viral!
13:36Oh!
13:39Despite it all being caught on camera,
13:41no word yet
13:42on the final outcome
13:44for this erratic driver.
13:46Instead of flying,
13:47our next motorist
13:48decided to drive across the pond
13:50and at number three,
13:52give me a break.
13:56It's a frigid and snowy evening
13:58in late December.
14:00An officer's body camera records
14:01as he arrives on the scene
14:03of an accident.
14:04She's still in there?
14:06Yeah.
14:06Water's up to her chest.
14:07Minutes earlier,
14:09a traffic camera
14:09captured a driver
14:10sliding off the highway
14:12and onto a frozen retention pond.
14:16Now,
14:17rescuers are trying
14:18to free the driver
14:19who's still inside
14:20from the sunken vehicle.
14:22But the ice
14:23and frigid water
14:24surrounding the car
14:25make that very difficult to do.
14:27Can you open that door at all?
14:29Here.
14:30If you can get on top,
14:31here,
14:31can you get the baton
14:32and smash that front window out?
14:34Yeah.
14:35Their best chance
14:36of reaching her
14:37is through the window.
14:40Close your eyes, man.
14:41Look away from the glass.
14:42But breaking the glass
14:44is proving to be
14:45harder than expected.
14:47Here,
14:47use my window.
14:48They decide to try
14:49a window punch.
14:50A window punch?
14:51Here,
14:51give me a...
14:52A small device
14:53designed specifically
14:55for breaking a car's windows.
14:58Look away from the glass.
15:02Look away.
15:03Look to the passenger side, man.
15:10Though the broken windows
15:12are a big step forward,
15:13there's now a bigger issue.
15:18Frigid water
15:19is now rushing into the car.
15:24We're coming.
15:24We're coming.
15:26At this point,
15:27more than ever,
15:28speed is of the essence.
15:31As rescuers prepare
15:33to pull them both
15:34from the icy water.
15:35All right, wrap that around her.
15:39The woman is finally
15:41pulled free of the car,
15:43just as the officer's
15:44body cam turns away.
15:46She's rushed
15:47to a nearby hospital,
15:49and according to news reports,
15:50sustains no serious injuries.
15:53That was cold.
15:54We're counting down the top 10
15:59most shocking
15:59after-hour moments
16:00of road wars,
16:02fighting for the number two spot
16:04when broken glass
16:05just doesn't cut it.
16:06in a supermarket parking lot
16:10in Sacramento, California.
16:11Two groups of people
16:13are having it out.
16:14The woman on the left
16:16believes the man
16:17in the white T-shirt
16:18has stolen her phone,
16:19and she's upset
16:21at him
16:22and at anyone
16:23and at anyone
16:24who's with him.
16:26She's going to get some.
16:27She's going to get some.
16:31I don't know.
16:32She's breaking the bottle.
16:33And each shattered piece
16:35of the bottle she's breaking
16:36is being used
16:38as a weapon.
16:39But now the other team
16:46strikes back,
16:47and their weapon of choice
16:48is much,
16:50much bigger
16:51than a bottle.
16:53The woman escapes injury,
17:00but as she tries
17:00to get back
17:01into the safety
17:02of her own car,
17:03whoever is in the driver's seat
17:04takes matters
17:06into their own hands.
17:10Now,
17:11this parking lot street fight
17:13over an allegedly stolen phone
17:15has turned into
17:18a full-fledged
17:21parking lot
17:21road rage attack.
17:36The dangerous chase
17:37ends abruptly
17:38when the beige car
17:43drives into a sign
17:45and the now almost
17:47bumperless blue car
17:48takes off.
17:51By the time police arrive,
17:53everyone has fled the scene.
17:55We've finally reached
17:56the end of our countdown.
17:58Absolutely nothing
17:59comes between our last driver
18:01and a clean car.
18:02Here it is,
18:03the number one
18:04after-hour moment
18:05of road wars,
18:07assault with a deadly hose.
18:11It's 2 a.m.
18:12in Shreveport, Louisiana,
18:14and Michael Davis
18:15is washing his car
18:16at a local car wash
18:17while his brother Millard,
18:19a disabled veteran,
18:20sits in the passenger seat.
18:23And while washing your car
18:25might seem like
18:25a relatively relaxing
18:27late-night activity,
18:28the situation
18:29is about to become
18:30potentially deadly.
18:31The first guy that I saw
18:33was the guy that was
18:34off-camera.
18:34I just assumed
18:36it was somebody
18:37panhandling.
18:38I turned to him
18:39and I said,
18:39I'm sorry,
18:40I don't have any money
18:41or anything.
18:43When I turned around,
18:45his accomplice
18:46had the gun
18:48set up on me.
18:49It's a carjacking
18:51and Michael
18:52and his brother
18:53inside the car
18:54are caught
18:55completely off guard.
18:58Once I turned around
18:59and I saw the gun
19:00was pointed at my face,
19:01I needed to address
19:03the primary threat,
19:04which was the person
19:05with the gun.
19:05Incredibly,
19:17the powerful jet of water
19:19drives the man
19:20with the gun
19:20and his accomplice
19:22away.
19:27The biggest motivator
19:28for me
19:29was saving my brother.
19:31I mean,
19:32you know,
19:32cars and things like that
19:33can be replaced,
19:34but, you know,
19:35people can't.
19:36I went to the front
19:37and I said,
19:38hey, you
19:38come back
19:39and try it again.
19:42But they don't come back.
19:44And that's when
19:45Michael makes perhaps
19:46his boldest choice
19:47of the night.
19:51The police were on the way
19:52and I figured
19:52while I'm waiting
19:53for the police,
19:54I might as well go ahead
19:54and just finish
19:55rinsing my car.
19:56It's what I came here
19:56for anyway.
19:58The two would-be
19:59carjackers
20:00are never identified
20:01by police,
20:02but the experience
20:03hasn't changed
20:04the way Michael
20:04looks at the world.
20:06Really nothing
20:07has changed.
20:08I stay as aware
20:08as I always have
20:09and kind of just
20:11deal with things
20:11the way that
20:12they come.
20:13you're not going to do it.
20:18You're not going to do it.
20:19You're not going to do it.
20:20You're not going to do it.
20:20You're not going to do it.
20:21You're not going to do it.
20:22You're not going to do it.
20:22You're not going to do it.
20:23You're not going to do it.
20:23You're not going to do it.
20:24You're not going to do it.
20:24You're not going to do it.
20:25You're not going to do it.
20:25You're not going to do it.
20:26You're not going to do it.
20:26You're not going to do it.
20:27You're not going to do it.
20:27You're not going to do it.
20:28You're not going to do it.
20:29You're not going to do it.
20:29You're not going to do it.
20:30You're not going to do it.
