00:00my ace of the week comes from the cincinnati reds and you know lo and behold we got to give george

00:04some credit beginning of the year he was kind of in on the reds and kind of in on the jays and i

00:08was kind of giving them two fingers one on each hand and it was not the thumb george may be right

00:16he may get two of his playoff teams in the playoffs this year it's not far-fetched the

00:19reds seem to be hanging around uh nick lodolo nine innings pitched uh eight strikeouts best

00:26start of his career on wednesday against oh i'm sorry sam washington nick lodolo uh george um didn't

00:33have the best start i think of anybody of the week but man like you the reds are an interesting team

00:40here at the deadline i don't think they're gonna do too much but you can make the case that one

00:45they're one hot streak away from jumping in with milwaukee and chicago yeah and as craig said i do

00:52have a ticket on them to get in uh they've been up and down team uh i think it's taking uh tito a

00:57little longer than i thought to get control of this team and now he seems to have it uh and listen

01:02they lost hunter green for a while now too when he comes back uh hopefully that'll help that pitching

01:06staff as well to help them make a run here don't know if they make a major addition though at the

01:10deadline although i find it weird that they're big in on uh suarez as well i didn't know that was their

01:15major need there third uh third baseman but they uh apparently are kicking the tires on suarez to see

01:20what they could have there uh ladola's been uh solid might have to go and let's say piss in a

01:25band box it's always impressive when he has that big start here and just with throwing flowers by

01:29the way uh you were on the brewers right i think i poo-pooed that in uh march when we were talking

01:34about this so uh and that what do they have the they have the best record in baseball the best record

01:38in the national league or top three whatever it is and they're in first place now so uh there's that

01:43as well i said it was not on the brewers all right so george your pitcher is an easy one

01:49coming from the philadelphia phillies and his name's not zach wheeler who's your ace of the

01:53week yeah zach wheeler going against the yankees tomorrow this this is not going to be a good weekend

01:58for the yankees uh sanchez uh crystal sanchez i picked him maybe he's a good talking point too

02:03right they had all the all-star flub there where he uh didn't get uh he didn't get in maybe he said

02:08he was going to pitch in it maybe he didn't so that's why they didn't take him uh the phillies

02:12paid him his bonus anyway good for them uh this guy him you know if they didn't have zach

02:17really we might be talking about christopher sanchez as being their ace this is how good the

02:21phillies can be once again wheeler going game one uh sanchez two suarez three maybe you you know

02:27you put suarez two uh what if you want to separate him a little bit uh then you got uh lizardo who's

02:32been more up and down now craig uh we'll see he's having trouble against he tipping those pitches

02:37uh that's why i truly believe the phillies you need at least one bullpen piece when i say a bullpen

02:43piece i mean a top bullpen piece uh once you got sandians claus a duran helsley boy would that one

02:49of those three would look beautiful beautiful in philadelphia that might make them the favorite

02:53there depending on what the dodgers do or i should say depending on how healthy the dodgers are but

02:58sanchez might be like i said if not the zach wheeler he might be the ace of this staff not just the ace of

03:04the week yeah rangers great too all right uh sam's ace of the week our producer is going back to the

03:11well here i mean come on sam nobody better than mckenzie gore really like i mean come on man

03:17against gore he was one of my picks before the year to win the cy young he's had a great year

03:23but i i mean come on like georgia probably was somebody with a better start than him i mean should

03:31i look this up while we're doing the show somebody shut out innings this week outside of mckenzie gore

03:36he's just going full home that's oh no traded i don't i don't know anything about baseball trades

03:44i think to uh i listen if i'm watching i'm listening on gore if someone's gonna once again

03:50someone's gonna bowl me over sure but i don't think he's getting traded would cost too much here

03:55uh and um no he's had a couple of bumpy starts here i guess that's a i'll give you a solid start

04:00five innings four strikeouts uh they may be protecting these innings by the way you know

04:04all these teams especially teams that are out of it and then i'm sorry sam the washington nationals

04:09are out of it uh you know they may be protecting his innings i'll get him healthy don't overwork

04:13him for next year blah blah blah blah blah so i think we'll hear his name i do but in the end i think
