00:00Is this the time to sell them? If so, Rasmussen, Holmes, Bubich, who do you think has what it
00:06takes to actually be good the rest of the season in a starter role?
00:12Man, you know, that's a pretty open-ended question. I would say there's, you know,
00:16they're probably hit or miss on a few of those guys. Bubich, I really like. You know, I think
00:21he's over 27 years old, so I believe he's going to be fine to, you know, go over his innings.
00:30Usually guys who are like, you know, say like Chase Burns or Jacob Mizorowski or even maybe,
00:40you know, like Bubba Chandler, who we haven't seen yet, or even maybe like a Paul Skeens,
00:44like guys who are younger, I would be a little bit more worried about. But older arms, guys,
00:51I think they just sort of let them throw as much as they're going to throw, and they don't really
00:56concern themselves with innings as much. You know, like I say Clay Holmes is likely going to be okay
01:04to throw as many innings as they can get out of them. I don't know how many innings that necessarily
01:10will be, but I don't think like, because, you know, before this year, Clay Holmes hasn't really
01:16thrown more than what, 70 innings in a season. So it like technically right now, they should be
01:22shutting him down if they were worried about like his arm. But I think that's kind of a thing of
01:28for younger pitchers. For guys like Clay Holmes who are in their 30s, I think they're just going to
01:34let him throw. He's at 88 innings now. I wouldn't be surprised if he throws 140 innings. Will they be
01:43a great 140 innings? I didn't really think he was going to have a great 88 innings in his arm,
01:50to be honest, because he struggled as a reliever for the Yankees. So the fact that they've gotten
01:55so much out of him, and really credit to the Mets and Jeremy Hefner, the pitching coach,
02:00because they've really gotten so much more out of Clay Holmes than I thought they would.
02:04So I guess it's a long way of me saying, I don't think there's any hard, fast rule for when guys
02:10are going to get shut down. A few of them who are younger, probably you're looking at roughly
02:1530 innings after their last year's innings total. But for guys over the age of, say, 26,
02:23they're probably just going to let them throw.
02:27Great. Let's talk about somebody you briefly mentioned there. Chase Byrne, Cincinnati Reds.
02:31Are we blowing our budget tomorrow for him?
02:34Yeah. Yes, absolutely. You know, I think everyone fell in love with Jacob Mizorowski,
02:43and for good reason, because of how well he's pitched since he came up. But I would say,
02:48even though Chase Byrne's first start of the year for the Reds wasn't necessarily as flashy
02:58as maybe we saw with Mizorowski, I think Burns can even be better, because Burns actually has
03:04the command, unlike Mizorowski, where I think we're going to see some blowups with Mizorowski at some
03:11point this year, where I would be a little bit, I would probably be on the sell side of Mizorowski,
03:17where Chase Burns, I mean, his command is so good, and his stuff is so nasty. You know,
03:23I think probably I would be looking at roughly 15 to 20% of my budget if I were, you know,
03:32in need of a starter. So in $1,000 fab, you're looking at roughly $150 to $200. That's assuming
03:40you have the, you know, you have the fab money still left. And then 100 fab, you know, that's
03:46roughly 15 to $20. I, in one of my leagues, actually, he already went in $100 league. He
03:53went for 40 plus dollars, I believe. So, and that's a 12 team mixed league to give you an
03:59idea of how shallow. So he really is going to get, he's going to, there's going to be demand
04:03for him. So if you want him, I think you're going to have to spend for him. But I absolutely
04:07like him. I would, I would be bidding as aggressively as I could if I needed a pitcher.
