00:00George, let's take a look at some starts here.
00:01We'll start off with your Yankees.
00:03Clark Schmidt gets the Angels and Orioles this coming week.
00:07Monday against the Angels at home, and then Saturday against the Orioles at home.
00:11Are you going to double dip on Schmidt?
00:15Absolutely.
00:16He's pitched okay.
00:17Solid.
00:18Nothing great here.
00:19You know, I'm for Will Warren in the same category, by the way.
00:21But you're getting two decent starts here, right?
00:23The Angels, average offense, Baltimore, average offense there.
00:28Both at home.
00:28We know the Yankees can hit at times.
00:30They're not hitting right now.
00:31Hopefully by next week they have figured it out.
00:33So it's sort of this definition for me.
00:36If you have him on your roster and you're not starting him next week,
00:39then he probably shouldn't be on your roster.
00:40It's really that simple.
00:41All right.
00:42But he's better than – he's better than your average guy.
00:44Maybe you want to move on after it, and I don't have an issue with that.
00:47So many of us is out there.
00:48But, yeah, I'm starting Clark Schmidt next week.
00:50And for my home league, that's exactly what I'm doing.
00:54David Peterson, who just threw nine innings, George,
00:56gets the Braves and the Phillies in divisional matchups this coming week.
01:00It's a little dangerous, George,
01:01because I think people are going to look at that start last week and think,
01:04wow, I got to make sure he's in the lineup.
01:06And I think you probably do.
01:08But what would you put the odds of this guy going deep into a second game in a row
01:13for the New York Mets?
01:14You know how they treat these guys these days.
01:15I mean, he's – I don't – I hate the matchups here,
01:20and it would worry me, but it's a two-start week.
01:23It's funny.
01:23If it was a one-start against either one of those teams,
01:25yeah, probably looking in another direction here.
01:27Two starts, both on the – what are you going to do?
01:30I mean, you want to be the optimistic viewpoint?
01:32Oh, great.
01:32He's a left-hander.
01:34Theoretically, he should keep Harper in check, assuming he's back there.
01:37Right?
01:37Schwarber in check.
01:38Olsen in check.
01:39All right?
01:40So you can look at it that way here.
01:42But, of course, the right-handers might totally kill him.
01:43But we'll see.
01:45All right?
01:45But, yeah, I am not going to be happy about it.
01:49Why can't it be one good start and one bad start?
01:51Why can't we throw a Washington Nationals in there?
01:54But, yeah, I'm likely starting because I just have no choice.
02:01All right.
02:02St. Louis Cardinals.
02:04George, what a strange season it is.
02:07I mean, is this the weirdest season?
02:08Well, our Orioles are, like, having a horrendous, like, unpredictable season.
02:11But the Cardinals, George, what did they win?
02:14Like, nine in a row or something like that?
02:16And then they started asking questions to Moselak, who is the GM, only for this year.
02:23And then he's going to retire, I guess, after the year.
02:25And they asked, oh, like, you guys are in it.
02:27You guys are going to, like, go for it.
02:28He's like, oh, I don't know.
02:30You know, like, we got a lot of young players.
02:31And this is with them playing really well.
02:33So what happens to the Cardinals from there?
02:36They lose every game.
02:37They lose.
02:38The players are like, all right, that's it.
02:39It doesn't matter what we do.
02:40We ain't doing squat.
02:42They lost six games in a row.
02:44I know these are great matchups for Libertor against the White Sox and Reds.
02:48But as I've talked about before this season, I'm just really concerned that players are traded and stuff like that from this team.
02:55And by the way, can I say this also, George?
02:59Why did the Red Sox ever fire Heim Bloom?
03:01Like, do you see all these players that are coming up for the Middle East?
03:05I mean, they did a fantastic job.
03:06I mean, I know the bets trade sucked.
03:08But beyond that, like, it seems like every player this guy acquired did a good job.
03:13The future for St. Louis is very bright.
03:15I just don't know what the present looks like.
03:18Agree on all counts here, right?
03:19No, nothing makes sense here with St. Louis Cardinals.
03:22I can't say this enough.
03:23They wanted to trade away players.
03:24They thought this was going to be a rebuild season.
03:26Or you want to go to retool, whatever.
03:29They weren't expected to compete this year, right?
03:31They want to trade Sonny Gray.
03:32He declined it.
03:33They wanted to trade Fedor.
03:34They couldn't get the offer they wanted here.
03:35They want to trade Arenado.
03:36No, I ain't going nowhere.
03:38And they end up being a good team.
03:40They end up competing here.
03:41And as you said, GM makes the comments.
03:44Air goes out of the balloon.
03:46All right.
03:46It's really where air goes out of the balloon.
03:47Which, by the way, shouldn't have surprised anybody.
03:49All right.
03:49I think we knew at the deadline they would like to be more sellers than buyers.
03:53So, it sort of is what it is here.
03:54Maybe now they're regressing back to the mean, back to the team we thought they were going to be,
03:58which seems to be what's happening here.
04:00As for Lib, I mean, White Sox, if you like Cincinnati, we don't here.
04:04Once again, he's on my roster.
04:05I'm starting him next week.
04:07I just don't have a choice here.
04:08And like I said, if I'm not starting him in a two-start week, then he shouldn't be on my roster.
04:12I should have moved on already.
04:13And odds are I'm starting him next week, and then I'm moving on.
