00:00
Okay, so the career season for L.E. De La Cruz, it happened last year.
00:05
One of the most popular players in baseball as well.
00:08
And a lot of guys are stealing bases again,
00:10
and some of them seem like they may be able to steal more bases
00:14
than L.E. De La Cruz on the Cincinnati Reds.
00:15
So I will ask you this question, Tom.
00:17
Buy or sell, De La Cruz will lead the league in steals this season.
00:22
Sell. Sell on this.
00:24
I'm not going to say it's already because he's just a handful behind,
00:26
but there's another Cruz that could easily lead the league in steals.
00:30
And that's O'Neal Cruz.
00:30
But like you said, there are a lot of players stealing.
00:33
Pete Crow Armstrong, I think, is always a viable option.
00:35
Victor Scott, we know it can be very good.
00:38
I think that's where we'll see things end up.
00:40
The fact that he did so last year and he was the odds on favor
00:43
to lead the league in steals this year, I just don't see it repeating.
00:47
And frankly, there's going to be a point where maybe the Reds need to protect him.
00:51
Like, they need him to be healthy.
00:52
You don't want him potentially risking himself on any further injury
00:56
if they're going to make a push for the playoffs.
00:57
Yeah, I mean, I think he'll catch fire.
01:02
I'm going to say I'm going to buy this.
01:03
The Reds went for about a week and a half without basically scoring a run.
01:08
I do think as the weather heats up, he will get on base more.
01:13
It has been, as I've said, a wintry April in a lot of different locations.
01:17
And I can't quite figure out why the Reds, especially at home,
01:22
are not hitting like they have in the past.
01:23
And I'm just going to put it down as weather and nothing else.
01:25
So I'm going to say De La Cruz at the end of the year does it.
01:29
You know, the competition and, you know, Tom brought up a great point.
01:33
O'Neal Cruz certainly off to a great start, too.
01:35
But I'm going to end up buying this, and I think 85 steals again
01:39
for Ellie De La Cruz somewhere along those lines.
01:41
Yeah, why not?
01:42
I mean, it's a huge number.
01:45
Yeah, why not, though?
01:46
It's the 948.
01:48
We're almost done.
01:48
I'm throwing crap out there.
01:49
All right, so let's go to the Sacramento A's, who have just been clobbering the ball at home.
01:58
And the big offensive surprise in all of baseball this season has been their first baseman,
02:02
Tyler Soderstrom, who is off to a fantastic start.
02:07
Are you buying this start, buy or sell?
02:09
He'll hit 25-plus home runs this season.
02:14
I have to buy this one, and he's already, let's say, a third of the way there.
02:18
Let's just call it roughly what it is.
02:19
And I don't think the rate will continue.
02:22
I think that's very reasonable to say he's not going to have him at this rate.
02:25
But, you know, we're at a certain point, or we will get to a certain point,
02:28
where he may just get there by attrition, essentially, right,
02:30
where it's not going to be at this consistent rate.
02:32
But they're going to play games out in Sacramento.
02:35
The weather's going to be even nicer than it is now.
02:37
And they will be there.
02:39
So, if the number was 30 or 35, we may have a different conversation.
02:43
But I think 25 is a fair number.
02:45
I think he gets to, like, 32 when it's all said and done.
02:47
Yeah, got to buy this easy one here for me.
02:51
And it may not even be so much about the player, although I do want to give him credit.
02:55
But, look, they have a lot of mashers there, Rooker, Butler.
02:58
They're probably going to have three guys that hit 25-plus home runs.
03:01
So, I'm definitely going to buy this.
03:03
Okay, so the San Francisco Giants have also been hitting the ball far better
03:08
than anybody would have predicted in the month of April.
03:10
And leading the pack, maybe that's been the surprise, has been Wilmer Flores,
03:15
who's now been in the big leagues for a decade or so.
03:17
And, you know, certainly has been fantastic.
03:20
Usually just great against lefties and okay against righties.
03:23
But, man, he's been hitting everybody this season.
03:25
Buy or sell, Tom, he will finish as a top 15 first baseman in fantasy.
03:33
I'm selling this one.
03:34
And he's off to a great start, but there's also some other players
03:38
that are off to slow starts that, you know, we could see improve
03:42
or players that are just so good that they may continue to improve.
03:46
Vinny Pascuatino off to a little bit of a slow start.
03:48
He's not there yet.
03:49
Matt Olsen, and along with the entire Braves, essentially,
03:52
off to a very slow start.
03:54
And I think, you know, water will find its level for the Braves.
03:57
And, you know, something like Matt Olsen overall.
04:00
Hoskins, maybe not the player he once was, but he's also off to a slow start.
04:04
I see these players increasing.
04:05
And Wilmer Flores will come crashing back down to earth
04:08
when it's all said and done.
04:09
Regression will find its way to him.
04:12
I will agree.
04:13
I'm on the sell train here with Wilmer Flores.
04:16
So we're two out of four here in agreement.
04:18
Yeah, it's a great start for Flores.
04:20
By the way, we've seen this from him in the past.
04:23
All you have to do is take a look at his previous June or May.
04:26
I mean, he gets hot for months at a time.
04:29
Very up and down player, I think.
04:30
So I will sell that as well.
