00:19i've been on the streets of the city to ask what should your councillors really be focusing on
00:24safety safety you know it's just knife crime isn't it going on um cleanliness you know they just it's
00:34just gone by the buyers and we have to do it ourselves they're the two main things for me to
00:39be honest yeah i think they could sort the bins out better the bins and the rats i think about
00:47you the council tax side of it because i'm because i'm getting i'm getting letters from
00:53good council tax saying i owe this amount of money when i'm paying it the leadership of
00:59liverpool council was a talk of not just the city but on some occasions the entire country
01:04over the past few years the reign of joe anderson and interim mayor then the first female black mayor
01:09and joanne anderson no relation were among those to claim the mantle of having to steer the city
01:15through choppy waters well i don't feel very safe because it's only rumors that you're here
01:26and i live like off breck road well i don't know i live by liverpool's ground
01:31so the good thing though was the match days and they scrubbed that place
01:37if you've got visitors coming after the match they think a little bit nice around here and you
01:41go you want to come with the domat john since 2023 that task has fallen to councillor liam robinson he
01:48was elected as liverpool did away with the mayoral model after 13 years and is taking the labour party
01:54into its 15th year in two years time councillor robinson and the labour group will ask for your
02:00vote in a bid to make it 21 years in charge in liverpool most recently the council has come under fire
02:07for its approach to reforming parking in the city centre as well as around everton's new hill dickinson
02:13stadium at bramley moore dock i'm very proud of our city though i love it all the same absolutely wouldn't
02:20live anywhere else i love obviously i mean i do love the city the leader of liverpool's liberal democrats
02:28group has set his sights on the top job 2027 marks the next round of all-out city council elections
02:35having been mandated two years ago following the caller report in 2021 councillor carl cashman made
02:42the jump over from his native noseley to take over the reins of the city's official opposition when he
02:47won a seat at the council in 2023 but could councillor cashman really become the next leader of liverpool
02:55city council only time will tell
