00:00Good morning. After a showery weekend for many of us, today is set to be quite changeable
00:05too and there will be some pretty persistent heavy rain in places, particularly across
00:09Northern Ireland first thing this morning. So here we have this warning for rain in place
00:13for much of the day to come. Some flooding on the roads is possible here and it won't
00:18just be Northern Ireland. Parts of Western Scotland, parts of Wales and the South West
00:21will also see some rain at times through the day today. Further east though, it's a different
00:26set up entirely. So a mixture of sunny spells and scattered heavy showers for Scotland,
00:30Northern England, parts of the Midlands and East Anglia in the South East. So here, quite
00:35a bit warmer in those sunny spells. We could see temperatures get into the mid-20s but when
00:39those showers come along, you'll really know about it. So some gusty winds, the potential
00:43for some hail and certainly some frequent lightning and heavy rain as well. So temperatures up
00:48to 25 degrees in the warmest spots but generally a little bit fresher out towards the west with
00:52the wind coming in from the Atlantic. Now by this evening, that rain will be starting
00:56to ease very slowly across Western Scotland and Northern Ireland. But there'll still be
01:01showery outbreaks of rain through this evening and overnight for many Northern and Western
01:05parts of the UK. It's the east where we like to hold onto something a little bit drier and
01:09clearer by the time we get to the end of the night. But despite the clearer skies further
01:14east, temperatures will hold up into double figures and actually some Western areas won't
01:18fall much below 15 to 17 degrees Celsius tonight. So another fairly warm night to come.
01:24Now Tuesday's not looking as unsettled as of late. The showers won't be quite as widespread
01:29or indeed as heavy as they have been. But nonetheless, there will be some showers or longer spells
01:34of rain for Scotland in particular, the west, north-western parts of England as well. But many
01:39parts of England and Wales actually getting away with a fairly reasonable day with some dry periods.
01:45And if the sunshine does break through that cloud at times, well, we might see temperatures
01:48reach 24 or 25 degrees. So pleasant enough in any sunshine, but overall temperatures a little
01:54bit lower perhaps than they have been of late. Now, if you want any more information on the
01:59warnings in place for your area, do check out our app or our website. But that's everything
02:04from me and I'll see you again very soon.
