00:00Hi there. Much warmer or even hotter weather will arrive across most of the UK later this
00:06week, but for the time being there is a north-south contrast. Certainly we've seen these outbreaks
00:11of rain continuing for northwest Scotland throughout much of the day. That tends to
00:15sink south. It's a weather front that will bring some heavy bursts of rain at times and
00:19some strong wind with gales around exposed coasts of northern Scotland. But as it sinks
00:24south it becomes a little bit more patchy and broken up. It runs into high pressure
00:29which is sitting close to the south of the UK and with that high pressure, lighter
00:34winds and clear skies overnight. There'll be some mist and low cloud forming in the south
00:39by dawn. But it's going to be a mild night wherever you are, whether you've got the
00:43cloud and the rain in the north or the clear spells further south. Then heading into
00:48Tuesday morning, mist in the south will clear very quickly. The strong June sunshine
00:54then developing across many parts of the southern third of the UK, the Midlands, East
00:58Anglia, the south. And as that strong sunshine gets to work, it will be a very warm day.
01:05But in between, we do have an area of cloud and outbreaks of rain sinking south. The rain
01:10tending to peter out, but a damp afternoon to come for north Wales, northwest England
01:15in particular. Bright spells and showers replacing that across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Here
01:20temperatures will rise up to the high teens, perhaps low 20s, where we've got the frontal
01:25zone. Not quite so warm. But in the southeast, 26 Celsius possible, given that strong June
01:32sunshine. Heading into Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the cloud across central parts tends
01:38to sink south, but it's all breaking up and becoming very tenuous. To the north, we do have
01:44some showers continuing across northern Scotland and a brisk breeze. But for most, it's a clear
01:49and dry night. Fresher in the north, but still relatively mild, if not warm, in the south.
01:56And then we start off with those patches of cloud across England and Wales. Even these
02:01tend to fizzle away during the morning. Plenty of strong sunshine developing across England
02:05and Wales, and working its way northwards into southern Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland
02:10by the afternoon. We do still have some showers into the north of Scotland at first. They tend
02:16to fade away. But an area of cloud and some outbreaks of light rain starting to edge into
02:20Northern Ireland by the end of Wednesday afternoon. Mid to high teens across northern parts of the
02:25country. Nothing too hot at this stage. Mid 20s further south and southeast. Possibility
02:3127 degrees in some spots. A sign of the increasing heat to come later this week. And that's because
02:41initially we've got high pressure over the UK. That's going to allow the strong June sunshine
02:45to increase temperatures day by day. Then that high slowly drifts to the east. And from around
02:52Friday, but more especially into the weekend, that will allow this plume of very warm or hot
02:58air to move up from the south, from Iberia. Increasing temperatures widely across Western
03:04Europe and the possibility by Saturday of the low 30s across parts of the UK. We'll keep you updated
03:09on all of that, as always, through our YouTube channel. Bye-bye.
