00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather update from the Met
00:03Office. It's been a muggy night, uncomfortable for some and there's some
00:08very wet weather around as well. Warning zones this morning for thunderstorms
00:13include the West Country, Wales as well as Northern Ireland as this thundry rain
00:18continues its movements northwards. Now expect some intense downpours, gusts
00:23associated with any heavy bursts up to 40-50 miles an hour and there will be
00:28some lightning around. Through the afternoon into evening time it does push
00:32northwards and there will be thundery downpours elsewhere but mostly the most
00:36persistent thundery rain will be always across more western areas. Elsewhere
00:41through this morning it's a fine start some hazy sunshine feeling warm so that
00:46brisk breeze along the eastern side there and further showers developing across
00:50England and Wales as they push northwards. Some wet weather to come through the
00:55morning into the afternoon for Northern Ireland another cluster of thundery rain
00:59extends across Wales northwest England towards the Isle of Man and eventually
01:02all of this will reach Scotland through the latter part of the day. Before that
01:06though temperatures here 22 degrees Celsius but further south 24 for mid Wales
01:1127 across the southeast of England and temperatures will be even higher tomorrow.
01:16So let's pick up on some detail through this evening. If you are travelling it's worth
01:21staying up to date with the forecast because there will be some heavy and even
01:26impactful rain around. Through this evening then you can see where most of it is
01:31this is the heaviest rain pushing across Scotland. Now further south we'll see
01:36further showers develop and again extend their way northwards with a quite a
01:41blustery breeze. For many it's a dry night with some clearer skies and certainly a
01:46drier night for Northern Ireland although one or two showers in the mix and they will run in.
01:51across the Irish Sea coast as we head into Friday. Friday dawns fine with some
01:56sunshine again some showers which will develop and push northwards they'll be
02:00fairly scattered but notice waiting in the wings more showers blossoming and
02:05this could be an impactful area of thundery rain as it extends across through
02:10Friday afternoon and into evening time. Now it's going to be a humid day tomorrow
02:15hotter than today temperatures 23 for the central belt of Scotland possibly
02:2020 to 22 for Northern Ireland help with some sunshine North Wales 24 mid Wales 26
02:26the southeast of England 29 places such as Cambridgeshire we could actually see
02:3030 degrees Celsius. Here's your warning zone through the latter part of Friday and
02:36overnight this is where expecting some really heavy downpours of a thundery rain.
02:41It's all coming in from the south like it has done over the past 24 hours so it's
02:47developing across Channel Coast and moving its way northwards. So if you are
02:53setting out or travelling through Friday evening keep an eye on the forecast
02:57because you could run into some really quite intense and torrential downpours
03:02with thunder lightning as well as hail. There'll be showers elsewhere just pushing
03:06northwards yet again into Saturday so the focus of this showery rain needs
03:12thundery downpours will be across more northern areas on Saturday. A few showers
03:17running in towards the west Saturday towards the south but you'll see some
03:21drier weather some sunshine coming through and temperatures not as high. So generally
03:26speaking towards the northwest temperatures perhaps peaking around 19 or
03:3020 23 to 25 towards central and eastern areas and quite a brisk breeze down towards
03:36the southwest delivering one or two scattered showers. Now less humid on
03:42Sunday again some showers in the mix but also some drier and brighter weather. For
