00:00Hello there, good morning, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast.
00:04It's all changed with our weather as we start the new working week.
00:09We say goodbye to high pressure and hello to low pressure as this system moves in from the Atlantic,
00:14bringing some fresher conditions, stronger winds and also some outbreaks of rain,
00:18which could be heavy at times, potentially thundery as well.
00:22So it's generally the end of the heat wave, but for some still today,
00:25we hold on to the heat for a little longer.
00:27But through this morning, we have bands of showers pushing north and eastward,
00:31so a little different than what we've been used to of late.
00:34Some of the rain could turn heavy at times as we move through into the afternoon and into the evening time,
00:38particularly across northern England into southern Scotland associated with this weather front.
00:43But as you can see from the graphics, still plenty of sunny spells across many areas,
00:47though some heavy showers bubbling up through the afternoon, breezy around some western coasts,
00:51and the fresher air starting to make an appearance here.
00:55So temperatures high teens to low 20s, but across central and eastern parts of England,
00:59in particular towards east Anglia and down into southeast England, temperatures here still high 20s,
01:04locally around 30 Celsius, so still on the warm side.
01:09However, that heat will start to fade as we move through the evening and overnight,
01:13as low pressure continues to move in from the Atlantic.
01:16Frequent showers across western areas, some longer spells of heavy downpours developing,
01:20some rumbles of thunder possible into the early hours, but there will be some clear spells in between,
01:24particularly across central and eastern parts of the UK ahead of that rain,
01:29and pretty breezy around the coast as well.
01:31And that fresher air being noticed by night as well, temperatures lower than recent nights,
01:3612 to 15 Celsius, so starting to become a little more comfortable for sleeping.
01:41So it is a mixed start to Tuesday again, as low pressure comes in from the Atlantic,
01:46heavy rain pushing eastwards, some longer spells of rain, heavy downpours, some rumbles of thunder in there too.
01:52Again, there will be some brighter spells at times around this area of low pressure,
01:56perhaps northern Scotland seeing the best of the dry weather with some sunny spells here.
02:01But in between, there will be some brighter spells, but a lot of rain pushing its way eastwards,
02:05needed rain in places, and a much fresher day for everyone.
02:10Temperatures to high teens to low 20s, so feeling quite cool.
02:14Some temperatures a little below average in the north, nearer to average towards the southeast, 23, 24 Celsius.
02:19But with the rain around and the stronger winds, it will feel much cooler than it has done of late.
02:24Into the evening time, these bands of rain continue to clear away,
02:28and then the rest of the week remains mixed.
02:30We'll see sunny spells, scattered showers, perhaps some longer spells of rain too.
02:35Temperatures though do start to creep up a little as we end the week.
02:39Temperatures back towards the mid, locally perhaps high 20s by Friday and into Saturday.
