00:00In the field of physics, there was a very famous theory known as atomism, which was propounded by the Greeks, particularly the Democrats, 23 centuries before.
00:14And according to this theory, the theory of atomism, atom is the smallest part of matter, which cannot be divided. And in Arabic, the word for atom is zarra. And I mean zarra means a small part, a very minute part. And the Quran speaks about zarra.
00:37But now, after science has advanced, we have come to know that even though atom is the smallest part of matter, having the characteristic of the element, it too can be divided into protons, into neutrons, into electrons.
00:54So people may think the Quran speaks about zarra as a small part. Maybe the Quran is outdated.
01:03But Quran says, in Surah Sabah, chapter number 34, verse number 3, and Surah Yunus, chapter number 10, verse number 61, that when they asked you that the hour will not come, tell them, it will surely come with the permission of the Lord,
01:21in whose record, in whose record, in whose record is the minutest detail of an atom, of zarra, and in whose record are things greater and smaller than atom.
01:33So Quran 1400 years ago says that there are things smaller and greater than atom. It says that atom is very minute, but further says that in the record of Almighty God are things smaller and greater than atom.
01:49So Quran is not outdated, it is up to date.
01:52In the field of hydrology, we learnt in school about the water cycle, and this water cycle was first described by Sir Bernard Palissy in the year 1580.
02:09And we learnt in school that the water evaporates from the ocean, it forms into clouds, the clouds move into the interior, and they fall down as rain, and the water table is replenished.
02:22Previously, in 7th century BC, he said, it was the spray of the ocean, which was picked up by the wind, which fell into the interior as rain.
02:37People did not know how did the underground water come, where did it come from.
02:42They thought it was the pressure of the wind on the water, which thrust the water into the interior, and it went till it was propounded by Pluto, that the secret passage by which the water went, it was called Astartes.
02:57And this was believed till as late as 17th century, even by Descartes.
03:02And in 4th century, Aristotle believed that the water which was there underground in the spring, it was due to the condensation of water in mountain caverns, which fed the springs.
03:13Today, we know that the underground water we have is due to the seepage of the rain water in the cracks in the ground.
03:20It's mentioned in the Quran, in the Surah of Umar, chapter number 39, verse number 21, that seeth thou not, it is he who sends on water from the sky, and leads it in cracks in ground, and causes sown fields of varying colors to grow.
03:35It's mentioned in Surah of Umar, chapter number 30, verse number 24, it is he who sends on water from the sky, and gives life to the earth after it is dead.
03:43It's mentioned in the Quran, in Surah of Umar, chapter number 23, verse number 18, it is we who send on water from the sky.
03:50We are able to store it, or we are able to drain it.
03:53It's mentioned in the Quran, in Surah of Umar, chapter 15, verse number 22, it says that we cause fecundating winds.
04:02The Arabic word used is lavaki, coming from the Arabic word laka, it means to fecundate.
04:08And today, science tells us that the pollen, which is skied by the wind, they fecundate the clouds.
04:15They impregnate the clouds, from which the water falls.
04:19The other reason is that the clouds join together, and then you see water emerging from the sky.
04:25Quran mentioned 14 years ago, that we cause fecundating winds.
04:29The Quran says in Surah room, chapter number 30, verse number 48, that we cause the water evaporate from the sky, then form into clouds.
04:38The clouds move to the interior, and talks over the water cycle.
04:41Quran says in Surah Noor, chapter number 24, verse number 43, that we cause the clouds to join, then make it into a heap, and then water emerges from the top.
04:50The Quran speaks about the water cycle in great detail in several verses.
04:56Besides all these verses I spoke, it is mentioned also about the water cycle in Surah Araf, chapter number 7, verse number 57.
05:03In Surah Radh, chapter number 13, verse number 17.
05:06In Surah Furkan, chapter number 25, verse number 40 and 49.
05:09It is mentioned in Surah Fatir, chapter number 35, verse number 9.
05:13It is mentioned in Surah Yasin, chapter number 36, verse number 34.
05:17It is mentioned in Surah Ghashya, chapter number 45, verse number 5.
05:21It is mentioned in Surah Qaf, chapter number 50, verse number 9 and 10.
05:24It is mentioned in Surah Vaakhya, chapter number 56, verse number 60 to 70.
05:28It is mentioned in Surah Mulq, chapter number 67, verse number 30.
05:31It is mentioned in Surah Tariq, chapter number 86, verse number 11.
05:34I can go on and on
05:39Giving only references
05:41In the Quran
05:43Which speak about the water cycle
05:46Who could have mentioned
05:48About the water cycle
05:50In so much great detail
05:52Which was discovered in 1580
05:54Hardly 450 years back
05:59What we came to know
06:00Is mentioned in the Quran
06:011450 years before
06:03Who could have mentioned this
06:04The Quran also speaks about geology
06:10Today the geology they tell us
06:12That the earth on which we live
06:14The radius is about
06:163750 miles
06:19And the deeper layers
06:21They are hot and they are fluid
06:23And they cannot sustain life
06:25The upper layers are solid
06:27And the superficial layer
06:29Is about 1 to 30 miles
06:32In thickness
06:32And it is a very thin crust
06:34And there are high chances
06:36That this superficial layer
06:38It will shake
06:39Today science tells us
06:42It is the mountain ranges
06:44Which gives stability
06:46To the earth on which we live
06:48Quran says
06:50In Surah Nabah
06:51Chapter number 78
06:53Verse number 6 and 7
06:55That we have made the earth
06:57As an expanse
06:58And the mountains as stakes
07:02The Arabic word used here
07:03Is autad
07:04Meaning stakes
07:05Meaning tent pegs
07:07You know when we put
07:09A tent peg into the ground
07:10The portion that we see
07:12Above the head
07:13Is very small
07:14The major portion goes
07:16Deep underground
07:17So Quran says
07:18We have made the mountains
07:20As stakes
07:21As tent pegs
07:22Quran says
07:25In Surah Ghashah
07:25Chapter number 88
07:26Verse number 19
07:27As well as Surah Naziah
07:28Chapter number 79
07:29Verse number 32
07:30That we have placed
07:32On the earth
07:32Mountain standing firm
07:34Today
07:36Most of the universities
07:38That teach about geology
07:41They refer to a main book
07:43Called as
07:44The earth
07:45One of its authors
07:46His name is
07:49Dr. Frank Press
07:49Who was previously
07:51The president
07:52Of the academy of sciences
07:53Of USA
07:54And was also previously
07:56The science advisor
07:57To the ex-president
07:58Of USA
07:59Jimmy Carter
08:00And he draws
08:02Mountains in the book
08:03The earth
08:04And he shows
08:05That the mountain
08:06Has got roots
08:07West shape
08:08Deep underground
08:09And he writes there
08:10That the main function
08:11Of the mountain
08:12Is to prevent
08:13The earth from shaking
08:14And this is exactly
08:16What the Quran says
08:16In Surah Ambiya
08:17Chapter number 21
08:18Verse number 31
08:19And Surah Nail
08:20Chapter number 16
08:21Verse number 15
08:22That we have placed
08:22On the earth
08:23Mountain standing firm
08:25Lest it would shake
08:26With you
08:27Quran mentions clearly
08:30Fourteen hundred years ago
08:32That the function
08:33Of the mountain
08:33Is to prevent
08:34The earth from shaking
08:35Which Dr. Frank Press
08:37Writes recently
08:38Forty years back
08:39Fifty years back
08:40Who could have mentioned
08:44This in the Quran
08:45In the field of oceanology
08:49Quran says
08:52In Surah Furkan
08:53Chapter number 25
08:54Verse number 53
08:54That it is he
08:56Who has let free
08:57Two bodies of flowing water
08:59One sweet and palatable
09:01And the other salty
09:03And the other salty
09:03And bitter
09:03Though they meet
09:04They do not mix
09:05There is a barrier
09:07Which is forbidden
09:07To be test passed
09:08The same message repeated
09:10Is mentioned
09:11Surah Rahman
09:12Chapter number 55
09:13Verse number 19 and 20
09:15It is Allah who has let free
09:20Two bodies of flowing water
09:21Though they meet
09:22They do not mix
09:23There is a barrier
09:24Which is forbidden
09:25To be test passed
09:26Previously
09:28The commentators of the Quran
09:30They used to wonder
09:31What does this verse mean
09:32We know that
09:33There are two types of water
09:34One is sweet
09:34And the other salty
09:35But what does the Quran
09:37Mean by saying
09:37That though these
09:39Two types of water
09:40Meet
09:40They do not mix
09:41There is a barrier
09:42Between them
09:42Today after science
09:44Advanced
09:44We have come to know
09:45That whenever
09:46One type of water
09:47Flows into the other
09:48Type of water
09:49It loses its constituents
09:50And gets homogenized
09:52Into the water
09:53It flows
09:53And they call this
09:54As the homogenizing area
09:56Which the Quran
09:57Refers to as
09:58Barzakh
09:58The unseen barrier
10:01And we can see
10:03This phenomenon
10:03In the southernmost tip
10:05Of South Africa
10:06In the Cape point
10:07Of Cape of Good Hope
10:07Where we find
10:08The two waters meeting
10:09We can even see
10:11The different colors
10:11Of these two waters
10:12We can even see
10:14In Egypt
10:14When river Nile
10:15Flows into the Mediterranean Sea
10:17And one of the good examples
10:19Is the Gulf Stream
10:20It starts from
10:21The Gulf of Mexico
10:22Then goes northwards
10:23Then goes
10:25To the east
10:26Goes to Europe
10:27It flows
10:28For thousands of miles
10:29And if you are
10:30Traveling in a boat
10:30And pick up water
10:32From one side
10:32Of the boat
10:33And pick up water
10:33From the other side
10:34You will find
10:35That one is sweet
10:36And the other is salty
10:37Even the temperature
10:39Between these two waters
10:40It differs
10:41Imagine Quran
10:44Speaks about
10:44This unseen barrier
10:461400 years ago
10:47In the field of biology
10:52The Quran says in Surah Anbiya
10:55Chapter number 21
10:56Verse number 30
10:57We have created
11:01Every living thing
11:02From water
11:02Will you not then believe
11:03Imagine
11:04In the deserts of Arabia
11:061400 years ago
11:08The Quran is saying
11:09Every living thing
11:10Is created from water
11:11Who would have believed in it
11:12In the deserts of Arabia
11:13Where there was scarcity
11:14Of water
11:15Who would have believed
11:16In the Quran
11:17That every living thing
11:18Is made from water
11:19Today after science
11:22In advance
11:23We have come to know
11:23That every living creature
11:25Its basic
11:26Is the cell
11:27And
11:28The major portion of cell
11:30Is the cytoplasm
11:31Which is approximately
11:3280% water
11:33And today science tells us
11:35That 50 to 90%
11:37Of all living creatures
11:38They are made of water
11:39The Quran says
11:43In Surah Noor
11:44Chapter number 24
11:45Verse number 45
11:46We have created
11:47Every animal from water
11:48The Quran says
11:49In Surah Furkan
11:50Chapter number 25
11:50Verse 54
11:51We have created
11:52Every human being
11:53From water
11:53Who could have mentioned
11:55This in the Quran
11:56The atheist cannot say
12:01This folk
12:01You know why
12:03There is something called
12:05As theory of probability
12:07In mathematics
12:10There is something called
12:12As theory of probability
12:15That means
12:16If I toss a coin
12:17And if I ask you
12:20Is it head or tail
12:22The chances you will be right
12:24Is
12:251 upon 2
12:26Because there are two options
12:28And you make a wild guess
12:29The chances you will be
12:30Created by 1 upon 2
12:31It is 50%
12:32If I toss a coin twice
12:35And the chances
12:36I will be right both the times
12:37Is 1 upon 2
12:39Into 1 upon 2
12:40It is 50%
12:41Of 50%
12:42It is 1 upon 4
12:43It is 25%
12:44If I toss a coin thrice
12:47And the chances
12:48Will be correct
12:49All three times
12:49Is 1 upon 2
12:51Into 1 upon 2
12:52Into 1 upon 2
12:53It is 50%
12:54Of 50%
12:55Of 50%
12:56It is 1 upon 8
12:57It is 12.5%
12:59This is called
13:00As theory of probability
13:00If I throw a dice
13:02A dice has got 6 options
13:04Has got 6 sides
13:061, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
13:08If you make a wild guess
13:09The chances that you will be correct
13:11Is 1 upon 6
13:13Correct?
13:16If you throw the dice twice
13:18And the chances you will be correct
13:20Both the times is
13:211 upon 6
13:22Into 1 upon 6
13:23Is 1 upon 36
13:24Now let us put this
13:27Theory of probability
13:28To what we have been discussing now
13:31Suppose if you ask
13:34That what is the shape of the earth
13:36And the chances
13:37Someone makes a wild guess
13:38You can think of
13:39Maybe 10 shapes
13:40It can be flat
13:42It can be square
13:43It can be rectangular
13:44It can be triangular
13:4410 shapes
13:46It can be spherical
13:46The chances
13:47If you make a wild guess
13:49And it comes right is
13:501 upon 10
13:51If I ask
13:55The light of the moon
13:56Is it its own light
13:57Or reflected light
13:58There are two options
13:59The own light
14:00Or reflected light
14:01The chances
14:02If you make a wild guess
14:03It will be correct
14:04Is 1 upon 2
14:05It is 50%
14:06The chances
14:07That both will be correct
14:08The shape of the earth
14:09And the light of the moon
14:11Is reflected light
14:12Is 1 upon 10
14:14Into 1 upon 2
14:15Is 1 upon 20
14:16It is 5%
14:17Let me 20 guesses
14:20You make
14:20Chances will be right
14:21Is 1
14:21If I ask
14:24What are the living creatures
14:26Made up of
14:27In the deserts of Arabia
14:29In the deserts of Arabia
14:29You can think of
14:30A thousand things
14:30Sand
14:31Stone
14:32Brick
14:32Wood
14:33Last you think of water
14:35So if you can think
14:37A thousand things
14:38What the living creatures
14:39Are made of
14:40The chances
14:41The chances
14:41Will be right
14:41Is 1 upon 1000
14:42The chances
14:44That will be right
14:44All the three times
14:45The shape of the earth
14:47Is spherical
14:47And the light of the moon
14:48Is reflected
14:49And every living thing
14:50Is made of water
14:51Is 1 upon 10
14:52Into 1 upon 2
14:54Into 1 upon 1000
14:55Is 1 upon 20,000
14:571 upon 20,000
15:00Is 0.005%
15:03In three things only
15:05In three
15:07Scientific facts
15:10The answer has come to
15:110.005%
15:13And mathematics
15:15Tell us
15:15That anything
15:1710 raised to
15:18Negative 50
15:19The answer is 0
15:21The few things
15:22That I've already mentioned
15:23More than 10 things
15:23I've mentioned now
15:24If you put this
15:25To theory of probability
15:26It will be 0.00000
15:28And when will the one
15:29Come I don't know
15:30It is 0
15:31But the chances
15:33That
15:33It's a wild guess
15:35And all of them
15:37Coming correct
15:38Is 0
15:39Theory of probability
15:41And there are many more
15:43This is just a few
15:44I've mentioned
15:45There are many more
15:46To come
15:46Quran says about
15:49Botany
15:49Previously
15:52We did not know
15:53That even the plants
15:54Have got sex
15:55Is male or female
15:55Quran says
15:56In Surah Taha
15:57Chapter number 20
15:58Verse number 53
15:58It is
16:00We have sent
16:00Water from the sky
16:01And with it
16:02Bought diverse pairs
16:03Of plants
16:04The Arabic word is
16:05Azwaj
16:05Azwaj means spouses
16:07Meaning pairs
16:08Male and female
16:09So Quran says
16:10Even the plants
16:11Have got sex
16:12Is male and female
16:12The Quran says
16:13In Surah Raj
16:14Chapter number 30
16:14Verse number 3
16:15We have created
16:16Every kind of fruit
16:17In pairs
16:18The Quran says
16:19In Surah Yasin
16:20Chapter number 36
16:21Verse number 36
16:22That we have created
16:23Everything
16:25What the human beings
16:26Know
16:26And what they don't know
16:28Into pairs
16:28Means we have created
16:31Everything in pairs
16:32The things the human beings
16:34Know
16:34And the things
16:36The human beings
16:36Don't know
16:37We have come to know
16:38Even a phenomena
16:39Like electricity
16:40That is a plus
16:41That is a plus
16:41And a negative
16:42A positive charge
16:43And a negative charge
16:43Electron and a proton
16:46Talking about the atom
16:48So the Quran says
16:50That we have created
16:52Everything in pairs
16:53Even what the human beings
16:55Know
16:55And what the human beings
16:56Don't know
16:57Slowly slowly
16:57We are coming to know
16:58First we thought
16:59Only the human beings
17:00Have sex
17:01Is male and female
17:02Then we came to know
17:03Animals
17:03Then we came to know
17:04Plants
17:04Now we come to know
17:05Electricity
17:06Everything
17:07That has been created
17:09The Quran says
17:10We have made it
17:11Into pairs
17:12Two and two
17:13Things which we don't know
17:14And things which we know
17:15In the field of zoology
17:21The Quran says
17:23In Surah Anam
17:24Chapter 6
17:24Verse 38
17:25That
17:26It is he who has created
17:28Every animal
17:29That walks on the earth
17:30And every bird
17:31That flies in the air
17:33To live in communities
17:34Like the human beings
17:36Today science tells us
17:38That the animals
17:39And the birds
17:39They live in communities
17:41Like the human beings
17:42Quran says
17:45In Surah Nahal
17:45Chapter number 16
17:46Verse number 68
17:47And 69
17:48That it is he who has taught
17:50The bees
17:51To build its
17:52Homes
17:54Its cells
17:54In human habitations
17:56In trees
17:57And on hills
17:59And to find the spacious path
18:01Of thy lord
18:02With great skill
18:03What does the Quran mean
18:04By saying
18:05That he has taught the bee
18:06To find the spacious path
18:08Of thy lord
18:08With great skill
18:09It was in 1973
18:11That's the fond fresh
18:13He got the noble prize
18:14For describing
18:15The behavior of the bee
18:16And he said
18:18That whenever a bee
18:19Finds a new flower
18:20Or a new garden
18:22It goes and tells
18:23Its fellow bee
18:24The exact direction
18:25Of the new garden
18:26Or the new flower
18:27By a process
18:28Known as the bee dance
18:29And Quran
18:31And Quran mentions
18:32This 14 years ago
18:33Which we came to know
18:34Hardly 45 years back
18:35Quran even in Surah Nahal
18:39Chapter 16
18:39Verse 68
18:40And 69
18:41Uses the gender
18:42For the worker bee
18:43As female
18:45As first lookie
18:46A kulli
18:46Previously we thought
18:49That the worker bee
18:51Was a male bee
18:52That is the reason
18:54Shakespeare
18:55In his play
18:56Henry the fourth
18:57He mentions
18:58That the male bees
19:00The soldiers
19:01They work
19:03And they report
19:04To the king
19:05Today science tells us
19:07That it is not
19:07The male bee
19:08Which is the worker bee
19:09It is the female bee
19:10And they don't report
19:11To the king
19:11They report to the queen
19:12Imagine
19:131400 years ago
19:15The Quran
19:16Even specifies
19:17The gender of the worker bee
19:19As being feminine
19:20Quran says
19:23In Surah An-Kabut
19:23Chapter number 29
19:25Verse number 41
19:25That as to those
19:27Who take for protectors
19:29Anyone besides
19:30Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
19:31Almighty God
19:32They build for themselves
19:34Houses
19:34Like that of the spider
19:36Verily
19:37The house of the spider
19:39Is fragile
19:39Quran says
19:40All those who take
19:42For protectors
19:43Anyone besides
19:43Almighty God
19:44They build for themselves
19:45Houses like the spider
19:46And we know
19:47That the web of the spider
19:49Is fragile
19:49Is very weak
19:50Besides talking about
19:52The delicate nature
19:53Of the web
19:54Of the spider
19:55It even speaks
19:57About the physical nature
19:58Today science tells us
19:59That many a time
20:00The female spider
20:02Kills the male spider
20:03And is called as
20:04A black widow
20:05The Quran says
20:07Those who take for protectors
20:08Anyone besides
20:09Almighty God
20:10Build for themselves
20:11Houses like the spider
20:12Besides being fragile
20:13It talks about
20:15The delicate nature
20:16Of the family relationship
20:17In which the female spider
20:19Kills the male spider
20:20Quran says in Surah
20:23Namal chapter number 27
20:25Verse number 17 and 18
20:26That when Solomon
20:27And his host of men
20:29Jinns
20:30Birds
20:30When they walked
20:31And when they approached
20:33A lowly valley of ants
20:34One of the ants said
20:36Oh ye ants
20:37Get into the habitations
20:39Lest Solomon and his army
20:42Unknowingly
20:43Will trample you
20:44Beneath the feet
20:44People may think
20:46What kind of a fairy tale book
20:48Is the Quran
20:49The ants talking among themselves
20:50It sounds like a fairy tale book
20:52Today after science
20:54Advanced
20:55They have come to know
20:55That the animal or insect
20:57Which has the closest resemblance
20:59To that of a human being
21:00It is the ant
21:01The ant
21:02Buries the dead
21:03The same way
21:04As the human beings do
21:05They have
21:07A sophisticated method
21:09Of labor
21:10Where they have a manager
21:12They have a supervisor
21:13They have a foreman
21:14They have a worker
21:14They have
21:16A sophisticated method
21:17Of communication
21:18They very often
21:19Meet to chat
21:20They even have market places
21:22Where they exchange goods
21:23You know we have
21:24Sook
21:24Market places
21:25They have market places
21:27Where they exchange goods
21:27And if the ant
21:30Store the grain
21:31And if the grain
21:32Begins to bud
21:33The ants
21:34Chop the bud
21:35As though they knew
21:36That budding will cause
21:37The rotting of the grain
21:37And if the grain gets wet
21:39In the rainy season
21:40The ant takes the grain
21:42In the sunlight
21:43To dry
21:43As though it knew
21:45That humidity
21:46Will cause the rotting
21:47Of the grain
21:47When I was a kid
21:49When I was to see
21:50These ants carrying the grain
21:51In the sunlight
21:51I was to wonder
21:52Where they are going
21:53Now I have come to know
21:54That these ants
21:55Are going in the sunlight
21:56Not taking the grain
21:57To dry
22:00As though they knew
22:01That humidity
22:02Will cause the rotting
22:02Of the grain
22:04To water
22:08From the dark
22:08To visualize
22:10In the morning
22:11In the morning
22:12In the morning
22:12That Is the wind
22:13queuing
22:14Of the grain
22:14To funds
22:15Of the grain
22:16Soos
22:16To mage
22:17From the end
22:18To the sake of the tree
