SVG, Vincymas Carnival celebrates main events ahead of final parade

*The Carnival of Vincymas continues in Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, few days ahead of the end of the carnival with Mardi Gras.  *On Monday morning took place the Jouvert, precedes the traditional Mardi Gras which will close the 2025 Vincymas on Tuesday with a huge parade. teleSUR

00:05of the end of the Carnival with Mardi Gras. On Sunday and early Monday morning, Victoria

00:10Park was witness to the celebration of the contest in search of the Calypso monarch,

00:16one of the most anticipated events of the festivities. The Queen of the Vans contest

00:21was also held in which the representatives of each of the local traditional vans show

00:26of the elaborate thematic costumes in search of the 2025 title.

00:35It is very nice to see that we still have this mass going about. The traditional aspect is not lost to anybody.

00:44We still do our hand pieces, watch my hand still with contact. So we were up to last night, well yes,

00:49last night because it's this morning, that we were still preparing this and we have our King to come.

00:54All right, so it is very, beyond words, beyond words. But it is a pleasure to be on the stage just to perform

01:03and make my whole team proud. Just to look out and to see all the smiles on their faces, it's phenomenal.

01:12In this context, another of the events that took place early on Monday morning was

01:17the Jovert, a typical celebration of the country's carnival that starts before done and fills the

01:23island streets with music and bands. An expression of culture and community spirit, Jovert originating

01:30from the French words meaning daybreak or morning, precedes the traditional Madigrass which will close

01:36the 2025 Benzimas on Tuesday with a huge parade.
